Waterbrick Down Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 WBD, how does the Orc Potion work? If you use it on yourself, won't it just reinburse the -2 health you lost? Or does it work just like that, but simply prevents you from using it with 2 health or less? The trick is that you gain back 10 points of health and then you lose 2 from the side effects. So even if you have 11/15 health and you use a potion, you only get 13/15 health back. Simply add 10 and then subtract 2, or in the example add 4 to get to full health and then subtract 2 due to the effect. Orc potions don't sit well in human stomachs, thus the loss of health but cheaper prices. Quote

soccerkid6 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Ok thanks, now answer our questions in the quest. Quote
Peanuts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Oh, great, we're fighting an almost-boss and I'm KO after round one. Anyway, good luck, team! You must avenge my death KO! Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 What if you are an Orc Theoretically you'd be fine, but it was a little complicated to include that condition. So unless we have any half-orcs in the party... Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Good catch! Olegaia is the amalgamation of Oleg (anagram of LEGO) and Gaia. It's the planet that these events take place in. Make that three Frenzies in a row. Way to ruin my "super-hard boss battle"... Sorry, You know me and my "Frenzies." Quote
Sandy Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 My latest quest has gotten me thinking about another change in the class balance, but I want to hear your thoughts about it before doing anything. What do you think about removing Cleric's "Special Guard" altogether? It's not that I think the class is overpowered, but the automatic immunity to negative effects has started to bother me. Especially in the case of "sealing" (the description of which says it prevents spellcasting and healing), there is very few ways it will ever affect a Cleric (well, Jebediahs found one way it could in his quest) and thus prevent them from healing. Would it decrease the attraction of a cleric too much if special guard was replaced with "special damage" like in all the other classes? Could there be some other class-specific skill to replace it? Please share your thoughts! Quote

I think your point makes a lot of sense, when I first saw that ability I thought it was kind of strange and I'm sure you could replace that with something else that would be quite alright. However I'm not a cleric so..... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 The Cleric class is highly focused on serving the rest of the party. It's rare that a party will be formed without a Cleric, so there isn't much incentive to play the Cleric when there will probably be one to heal you and you could pick another class. (like a Barbarian that heals itself or a Ranger that in most cases effectively doubles its Health) The Spirit Guard is the main attraction of the Cleric class, I think. Quote
CMP Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Well, I think Sealing should affect Clerics, but other than that, I'm fine with it. Quote

But then that brings up a problem. Technically, anyone playing this game can do the same things, just they may be different races. It wouldn't be fair. Quote

But then that brings up a problem. Technically, anyone playing this game can do the same things, just they may be different races. It wouldn't be fair. Well as of the moment there isn't that distinction and making effects race dependent I believe, would bring too much complexity to the game and might limit the creativity of other new players in their character creation. Please share your thoughts! I sure liked it as it is during the latest battles. But yeah, I see your point. What about making it a 50/50 chance between getting a Special damage or Special guard? It would require an extra die throw but otherwise I think that would be a good compromise. Quote

Yeah. This was kind of adressed in the Undead player issue awhile back, anyway, Bricks. All Heroes are created equal. Quote

Of course he doesn't have them, I just forgot to remove them from his inventory. I always copy-paste the party information from the previous battle, you know, so I don't write it all by hand every time. I've removed them now. Quote
