Flare Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Zepher is getting those specials from Jeb, not Flare. No actually I just found where the special is found in 53 and yes he definitely stole it from my quest. Sorry guys Quote
Endgame Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Note how they cut themselves for Akkaba... Also, that Lust passive specials is courtesy of yours truly. Here is to hoping Zepher steals the Chaos Abomination! Quote

Zepher Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Ew. Too much OoC in the thread, keep it here guys! I like to keep the quests readable because I got back and read them! Quick question: Would guardian angel protect against creepy croak? And how exactly did Nyx's shield not do anything? Shouldn't she have attacked the enemy? She targeted herself with the healing staff. We've discussed it for her on previous quests, it does nothing by her shield description. But yes, Angel would absolutely protect you guys from harm, though their health would still double! OoC Did you account for my Lucky status Zeph? I'd be amazed if I rolled two Shields, and virtually anything else would have healed me. As Flipz said, and as is the ruling, Lucky is not objective. It takes the highest roll. You are really confusing me. I don't see creepy croak being used anywhere. On a similar but not very similar note - how does Gnash have two head gears equipped at the same time? Does he have two heads? I must have forgotten to move one to his inventory, but I think I'm only displaying the SP from one of them. And yes, I stole from all over on purpose. Creepy Croak from the Demon Frogs, Akkaba worshipping from those worshippers, some Progg in there. There were a few other reused attacks this quest, because some QMs have nice attacks that should be reused! I also purposely pulled from different places for the Court of Demon specials, to further promote the idea that while SOME of them were Zoot followers, they didn't all serve only him. Mephisto wore a piece of armor clearly with Akkabba's emblem on it- implying that before Mephisto ate his brain and soul and stuff, his human host may not have served Zoot so fully. Quote
Pandora Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 As Flipz said, and as is the ruling, Lucky is not objective. It takes the highest roll. Which is pointless, and as I already said is the exact opposite of actually being Lucky. The highest roll is usually the best roll, unless you happen to be in the unique situation of being a Lucky and Encouraged Battle Mage trying to heal oneself with a Healing Staff. Quote
Zepher Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The damn healing staff changes enough of the damn rules already. But, for example, it is also better for Alexis to roll Critical Hits now, and not shields- unless she wants to make gold. So, what would I pick in that case if we made it objective? I agree, its not always sensible, but Arthur beat me by jinxing his whole party at the end of 38. Quote

That's just how the effect works. Considering how potent it is otherwise, I think it's a fair tradeoff. Quote
Sandy Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Let's not make the effects any more complicated than they already are. So what if the highest roll is not always the best in every situation? It just adds to the challenge of this game, doesn't it? Quote

Cronk's attempt to rationalize why bashing Tensi repeatedly with a Healing Staff would please his Guardian Angel remains one of my favorite moments in Heroica. Ew. Well, apparently some characters don't like listening to Arthur talk, so... Ah, that makes a lot of sense now. I wish it had been indicated just a little more openly, I see now several references that went completely over my head. When I first saw the special, I just assumed a copy-paste mistake. Also, Pandora, why exactly is Arthur a coward? I don't think she was at the Guffington battle...? Quote
Palathadric Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) Also, Pandora, why exactly is Arthur a coward? I don't think she was at the Guffington battle...? Hey, Arthur is not the only one who knows everything about everyone. It's fantastic seeing the amount of people browsing the Heroica forum. Edited February 14, 2013 by Palathadric Quote
Pandora Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Also, Pandora, why exactly is Arthur a coward? I don't think she was at the Guffington battle...? Indeed she wasn't, but she did witness him gibbering like a fool on the floor subsequent to that battle. And although I don't remember anything specific being said at the time, it's easy to imagine it may well have been a topic of muttered conversation thereafter. Additionally, she's just about ready to hit anyone or anything that mildly annoys her right now, which Thothwick has appreciated, despite Thothwick not actually annoying her in the slightest. Quote

In the same way that all of Haldor's actions in Quest #28 were quietly muttered about to the point that Arthur new more about them than the actual party did. Quote

Palathadric Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 upgrades Lifestealer to WP: 28 (250+260+270+280 = 1060). Good grief, Guts is going to get Lifestealer to WP: 50 long before anyone gets close to claiming the Pitchfork of Domination! Quote

Zepher Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Assassins too. I'm often times tempted to start over as a rogue, in about a year or so I'll be where I would be with Boomingham in a year anyway. Quote

I'm often times tempted to start over as a rogue, in about a year or so I'll be where I would be with Boomingham in a year anyway. Same here. I have a sort of internal struggle on whether I should be assassin or warden... Warden can use a shield but an assassin gets so much gold... Ug I don't know what to do No, but really people, should I be warden or assassin? I really can't make up my mind Edited February 15, 2013 by Flare Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 No, but really people, should I be warden or assassin? I really can't make up my mind Depends on how you want your character to fit into Heroica, and how you want to role-play. Which of those two options best fit who Benji is? Quote

Role playing? What's that? I haven't developed Benji very much, honestly I feel that I can change his personality depending on the class I like best Quote
