Chromeknight Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 How about if the cleric is attacking it receives Special Damage and if it is healing, then it still protects against the negative effect? I think this is the best solution. Though spirit guard is one of the attraction of the class. Quote
CMP Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011  Hey, If you were Atramor(though you're his enemy) I'd say I don't think His "smart" chicken could have beat a ghost person and a giant snake with 3 FRENZIES!!!! Don't drag me or my chicken into this, you poorly-Photoshopped punk. Quote

CMP Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) I think this is the best solution. Though spirit guard is one of the attraction of the class. That doesn't make much sense. If you're healing, you can't recieve Special Damage, so no Special Effects, which makes this pretty useless. Edited November 3, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) Barbarians, all brawn and no brain. I have made some mistakes, yes. But I still have figured out some important things. And I would not try to glue my arm back on. Unless if I was something else than a barbarian (just kidding) Edited November 3, 2011 by Bricksandparts Quote
Peanuts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 How about if the cleric is attacking it receives Special Damage and if it is healing, then it still protects against the negative effect? Yeah, I think that's the best course of action anent the Spirit Guard. Sounds quite fair to me. Quote

Ironically, if Atramor had been in this quest, and McCafferey had been a Rooster, then he would've killed the Basalisk in seconds! "Of the many fearsome beasts and monsters that roam our land, there is none more curious or more deadly than the Basilisk, known also as the King of Serpents. This snake, which may reach gigantic size, and live many hundreds of years, is born from a chicken's egg, hatched beneath a toad. Its methods of killing are most wondrous, for aside from its deadly and venomous fangs, the Basilisk has a murderous stare, and all who are fixed with the beam of its eye shall suffer instant death. Spiders flee before the Basilisk, for it is their mortal enemy, and the Basilisk flees only from the crowing of the rooster, which is fatal to it." Quote
Peanuts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 That doesn't make much sense. If you're healing, you can't recieve Special Damage, so no Special Effects, which makes this pretty useless. Uh, you're right. Okay, that won't work. Quote

Chromeknight Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 "We found the vandal" all of a sudden Maurice interrupted. This is not solely directed at B&P, but I haven't seen it written down anywhere to help people who've never RP'd before. It is considered a little impolite to narrate for another character unless you have their permission. It turned out to be longer. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 That doesn't make much sense. If you're healing, you can't recieve Special Damage, so no Special Effects, which makes this pretty useless. If we left the original rules yes it wouldn't make sense, but if we changed it the Attack/Heal to Special Damage/Spirit Gaurd maybe? Quote
CMP Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Ironically, if Atramor had been in this quest, and McCafferey had been a Rooster, then he would've killed the Basalisk in seconds! Completely forgot about that! Quote
Etzel Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 yes I know, I just saw that Etzel was posting And thought it would be posted in about a minute. It turned out to be longer. Yeah, it took a while to make it sound right. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Yeah, it took a while to make it sound right. I don't blame you. That is probably the longest Character written speech in the quest so far. "We are imprisoned brothers of Saint Zalzabar the Barbarian turned into heathen idols" "Since when? My brother's got it all wrong, we're voodoo dolls from the Waldurkian Forest" Mandrel shouts over at the party, "You're wasting your time, that cabinet's never been locked. Mandrel has just never had the nerve to choose a door to open. Just ask those two bozo's. One of those door's will let you in, the other supposedly unleashes a doom of all dooms! One of them is always telling the truth the other is always lying, I just don't know which one is which." "My door is the right one, that rock faced buffoon is just a liar." "No my door is the right one, his leads to certain doom. Don't listen to his lies." What shall the Party do? I think I know where this is heading. this is the liar and truth teller, right? I know what the question is to ask if the group can only ask one question... Wait, I might have a breakthrough. Which one would the other twin take? Couldn't 'ave done it without me... See, Babrarians are not always dumb! You could have at least said Thanks. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 For? I was talking about the knight that had a "Break through" He just happened to figure it out after I posted my suspicions. Quote
CMP Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I was talking about the knight that had a "Break through" He just happened to figure it out after I posted my suspicions. You didn't. You said: I think I know where this is heading. this is the liar and truth teller, right? I know what the question is to ask if the group can only ask one question... Saying you know something and then one of us getting it isn't exactly helping. Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) And it was the ranger, not the knight........... I saw it in a riddles book when I was at camp once. The idea is that the one telling the truth would say the liars door and the liar would be lying saying his own door leaving the door noone said anything about the real door. Bricksandparts Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 You didn't. You said: Saying you know something and then one of us getting it isn't exactly helping. I knew the answer what did you think I was gonna say? Oh the answer is Ask what the other guy would say? then we know the wrong door so we go into the other. Her I'll show you why It works. And How would I have known the question without him coming out and saying it if I did not know the answer. If they are telling the truth, They will say what the liar says, therefore it will be wrong. If you ask the liar what the truth-teller says, he will lie and say the wrong thing. Trust me, I knew this before, I was trying to give the party a hint, not just come out and say the answer. that would just ruin Waterbrick down's game. Quote

Alright....I'm still trying to untangle your words, give me a second. Just because you knew the answer makes when we solve it 'using your advice'? This is a common riddle. Panik got the answer. What is there to it? Quote

Sandy Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Thanks for the players in my quest for your participation! I hope you enjoyed the varied battles the quest offered. I've now posted two new quests hosted by me to the Quest Board at Heroica Hall. They'll be open until the 20th of November, though, so there's plenty of time to sign up into them. Quote
Zepher Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I want Boomingham to go hunting pirates! Here's hoping I get back in time! And I could possibly end up questing with some of the people currently in my quest, which would be fun, assuming they don't bear grudges . Quote
