Flipz Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I was looking forward to getting in some good activity before tech week. Ah, well. I can spend the weekend poking Doc, then. Ah, well. I can spend the weekend poking Doc, then. Quote
Zepher Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) For those who don't get the reference. From one of the most fantastic movies ever. And, before I forget, though I figure it's pretty obvious, everyone can thank Sandy for our lovely interlude. Edited February 22, 2013 by Zepher Quote

Sandy Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 I wouldn't say most enemies are immune to insta-kills, it tends to be the important ones. As is only fair. The assassin would be completely broken if it could kill even bosses in one lucky strike. Quote
Scorpiox Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 The Floor Heroica Hall Basement Floor Level 25 Floor (No Elemental Strength/Weakness) *Counterstriking* *Immune to Negative Effects & Instant Kill* Health: 300/300 SP: 30 Special Damage: Floor – This is a floor. Nothing happens. Passive Special: DRAINAGE ELI - Drains 2 ether per round. Drains 2 health per round. Note: Heroica Hall Floor does not get free hits. Bombs do x1.5 damage to floor. Literally the best enemy that I've ever fought in Heroica, closely followed by Bluehood's rug. Quote
Zepher Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Bomb XX's ignore all SPs, even those belonging to the floor. Quote
Flipz Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Is the floor immune to Armor Sundering? Quote
Zepher Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yes. I guess from now on I should include "scroll immunity" or something. I keep forgetting the scroll sundering isn't technically a "negative effect" because I consider it to be very much a negative effect. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 If you guys want Cronk to be lucky, you either have to pour the Nostrum down his throat or convince him. Zepher said roleplay. Have at it. Quote

Endgame Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Brickington's level is, indeed, horrendously broken. I entered his power in his level field. Also, Zepher, that is the most mechanically interesting, innovative, challenging, and plain awesome enemy I have ever seen. What a way to end the Wren saga! Quote
The Legonater Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I got a very distinct Indiana Jones: Last Crusade vibe from that, Zeph. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Ha! I think I've figured out this stupid floor. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Darn it Zepher, if you don't want us going into the final battle with full health and ether, then just take it away, don't try masking your motives with a filler battle. Alright, so we throw a smoke bomb, give Gnash a Bomb XX that's SP piercing and has a x6 multiplier, wait outside and then have him blow up the floor. Of course we'd sacrifice Gnash, but that's what NPC's are for. Quote
Endgame Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 The final boss has its stats encoded in an anagram, and you have to solve a word puzzle every round to hit it. Quote
Flipz Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Endgame, I think you have Quest 52 confused with Quest 48 in your mind. Quote
Endgame Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Endgame, I think you have Quest 52 confused with Quest 48 in your mind. I'm assuming you mean 53? Oh, and no, Eidolon's style doesn't involve word puzzles. He takes pride in his ability to kill and barbeque somebody at the same time. Quote

He takes pride in his ability to kill and barbeque somebody at the same time. Nono, I meant your comment in 57. Sorrow didn't go through the woods in front of Dini Manor, and I don't seem to recall any sort of labyrinth in Quest 52. Quote
Endgame Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) In Rumble Strike's previous quest, Ques 32, we had to go through a wacky manor with realms and warp doors and - our goal was to find some children trapped within. Sorrow remains unhappy about the ordeal. By "last quest", I meant last quest that involved kids". And, hey, Sorrow lived in Waldurk during his early years. I bet it was pretty perplexing, too. Flipz Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Come on, guys, this isn't THAT hard of a fight. (Yet.) The floor doesn't get Free Hits, and the drainage only takes 2 HP and Ether per Round. That's what, 6 HP and Ether before the Scarf activates? Once that happens, Cronk will be summoning his Guardian Angel in no time. Of course, Atramor COULD run his plan, but then he'd be facing whatever appears AFTER we beat the floor all alone... Quote
CMP Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Of course, Atramor COULD run his plan, but then he'd be facing whatever appears AFTER we beat the floor all alone... When you say 'facing', you mean 'fleeing from', right? Quote
Palathadric Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Ashes of Demise: Can be used on an insta-kill immune enemy to disable their immunity. I wouldn't agree with this. Though I don't like enemies who are immune to insta-kill, I think it sort of has to be done because otherwise assassins would be way over-powered. As if they aren't already. So are we in the hall supposed to ignore the fact that a whole group of wierdoes just traipsed through the hall? Besides, how will the orcish barmaid be able to help them out when she's supposed to be getting cake-seed-cake for us. Quote
Endgame Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 They could always be immune to the ashes. I think it'd be good for, say, the Inquisitors or a member of the Gladius Unit. Of course, we can't have any one-shotting Wren. Quote
Palathadric Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I think they were made "immune to insta-kill" for a reason though. If immunity to ashes would be possible, then there's no need to make it because either the QMs will want you to be able to insta-kill their enemies or not. If they don't want you to they will make the enemies immune to it anyway, and if they do want you to be able to kill them, they wouldn't have put "immune to insta-kill" in the first place. Quit trying to buff up your already over-powered class. Quote
