Flare Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 For some reason the following popped into my head when I read that last line. Follow the center road Follow the center road Follow follow follow follow, follow the center road We're off to find the dumb kid, the dumb kid who is now a frog He's probably quite green and smelly, smelly like a bog. I wouldn't be very surprised to see him sitting upon a log. a log, a log, a log, a log, a log, a log that's sitting in a bog. We're off to find the dumb kid, the dumb kid who is now a frog No! Don't take the center road! If that's the correct road, then your Quest will end when you get to the end of it! Take the left road for moar loot and experience ! And what if I'm just trying to convince them that the center road is the road they should take, so instead they take the left road, and then the left road is actually the correct one so in the end it will cut down on the quest time Quote

The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and we both walk down a road, and find out who is right and who is dead. But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you. Are you the sort of man who would put the boss battle down his NPC's road, or his PC's road? Quote
Endgame Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hey, atleast you aren't fighting for the possible fate of Uland - you just tackled some thieves, they're going after 5 ton flying beats of mass destruction. And snark. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hey, atleast you aren't fighting for the possible fate of Uland - you just tackled some thieves, they're going after 5 ton flying beats of mass destruction. And snark. You know, we could just kill everyone in his army instead. That'd be much easier. And less Snarky. Without his Army, he'd still be a menace, but he'd be alone. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Endgame Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 You do realize he brought 1.5k Proggs, right? You do realize you've only killed about 100, right? Quote

Are you the sort of man who would put the boss battle down his NPC's road, or his PC's road? Now, a clever QM would put the boss down the NPC's road, because only a great fool would go down the road that was given to him. The PC's are not great fools, so they clearly can not choose the center road. Of course, the QM would have known they are not great fools - he would have counted on it, so they can clearly not choose the NPC road. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) You do realize he brought 1.5k Proggs, right? You do realize you've only killed about 100, right? You do realize that if we took them all in groups of about 6, we actually could kill them all. But considering the time that would take, we'd probably be stuck in this quest for another 5 months.... but then again... the XP... Also, you know, that'd sorta be genocide. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited March 2, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Because the boss comes from the Ziegfried family, as everyone knows. And the Ziegfrieds are entirely composed of wizards. And Ziegfried wizards are used to having people not trust them, as the QM is not trusted by us. So we can clearly not choose the road in front of the NPC. Yes, the Ziegfrieds, and the QM must've suspected we would have known the boss's origin, so we can clearly not choose the road in front of us. Quote

He's chosen a Barbarian, which means the boss is exceptionally strong so he could've put the boss on the other path, trusting it's strength to save it, so they can clearly not choose the road of the NPC's. But he also chose a Mage, who must have studied, and in studying they would have learned that man is mortal, so they'd want to prolong the quest as long as possible, so they can clearly not choose the path in front of them. Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I noticed the new quest out, is anyone else planning to do a new quest? I thought there was 1 or 2 people thinking of one.. I'm not sure when they will be finished though. Quote
Brickington Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Well I'll be satisfied with the new quest. I have a question though, is quest 60 for beginners, immediate, or expert players? Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 It can be for any. Though since only new people are in the Hall, it will be balanced for beginners. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I had an idea for a low level quest, to get some heroes out there, but no one gave feedback. It's in the Quest Master's lounge if anyone would like to give feedback. I've already taken a few pictures, and I'm currently working on some of the enemies. Quote
Brickington Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Does one need to use a Heroica dice to host a game, or can one just use a normal dice? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Does one need to use a Heroica dice to host a game, or can one just use a normal dice? Heroica dice don't even have the same possible results as Heroica RPG battle dice; use a normal d6. (or Random.org's die roller) Quote

Darkdragon Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Oh, than I can host a quest! Yippe. But I think I'll wait to I have a couple of games under my belt. That's always a good idea. Hosting takes a really good understanding of the mechanics which come from playing more than just reading. Quote
Zepher Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I don't think I've ever rolled a round right and this is my... what, 7th quest? Anyway, super busy day for me today with filming, so sadly no updates. I'm really sorry all. I wish I could devote more time, I really didn't expect this schedule at the beginning of the semester. Quote
