Masked Builder Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Urgh, more Hinckwell Quests. Don't get me wrong; I'm glad to see you hosting, DLL, it's just that we could really do with some more people hosting Shadeaux-sponsored Quests. I honestly can't think of a Hero with more than one Quest's worth of experience who hasn't had at least a chance to go on a Hinckwell-sponsored Quest or gain Hinckwell reputation; the same isn't so true for the Shadeaux. Just food for thought for future QMs. I'd like to see some more of the Ziegfried's too. Though I know they've gotten around a good bit more. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) I'd like to see some more of the Ziegfried's too. Though I know they've gotten around a good bit more. Especially since I want Karie to go Nechromancer. Be able to raise the dead AND the roof all in one. In all honesty, I think the problem for people is lack of parts. Sure, I'd love to do a Wolfgang quest, but I don't have the pieces to make the members. Hinckwell on the other hand, or Crownie knights, oh yeah, I got tons of those. Enough to create a small army actually. Edited March 6, 2013 by Kintobor Quote

Scorpiox Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 There are entire quests done with virtual bricks. Not really an excuse. For me, I would never feel happy generating entire landscapes virtually. I don't know whether it is laziness, lack of technical skill, or just my preference for real bricks, but I wouldn't be able to do it. That's why I would much prefer to co-host with someone else who has the time and supply to help me achieve a good quest at some point. Quote
Endgame Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Sweet meciful batman, that post is finally over - the final battle is upon you, 48ers! You have 5,400+ Hp to hack through, get cracking. Eidolon's description was NOT meant to be that big: I tried to compact down his War Tactics special, but it ended up looking hard to read and ugly. Quote

Palathadric Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Congrats to you, Donnylonglegs! Has Danny of the Long Legs become affiliated with Donny of the Wolfgang? They're seaping into our midst! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Don't listen to Flipz. More Hinckwell quests! But only after 53 is over... Quote
Pandora Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Don't listen to Flipz. More Hinckwell quests! But only after 53 is over... Pfft, more Ziegfried quests! Imagine the wonder of an undead army with a former Battle Mage in command! Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I also hosted a Shadeaux quest without any Fright Knight parts. The only shields I own are Fright Knight shields. I've been thinking of aligning the character with Shadeaux just so if I decide to roll a warden, I'll have a faction appropriate shield. Quote
Flipz Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I'd like to see some more of the Ziegfried's too. Though I know they've gotten around a good bit more. Well, I was going to complain about that, but then I remembered the poor Guild of Invision gets no love...even from us players. Seriously, is anyone here planning to become an Alchemist at Expert levels? I'm obviously not...for obvious reasons. The only shields I own are Fright Knight shields. I've been thinking of aligning the character with Shadeaux just so if I decide to roll a warden, I'll have a faction appropriate shield. How about designing a Shadeaux Quest, then? If you want to see it, do it. My Quest is main-faction-neutral, and I don't think I really want to try to change that, it would completely alter the tone. I'm thinking about how much people liked the little Ji Pei moment in Etzel's first Quest, as well as in Quest 2, though, so...who knows? Maybe Sandy or another QM will suggest something that would work. Most likely not, though. It's funny, in the early days of the game reputation was supposed to be common and gems were supposed to be rare. It seems that the opposite has become true. Quote
CMP Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Don't listen to Flipz. More Hinckwell quests! But only after 53 is over... Singing Cronk becomes reality! Pfft, more Ziegfried quests! Palathadric Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Apparently I've got decent reputation with the Guild of Invision...and Monk Pretzel is against that sort of thing. But imagine being able to make my own gold...and eat it too! Wait, are witches getting gold now on their shield rolls? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) Seriously, is anyone here planning to become an Alchemist at Expert levels? I'm obviously not...for obvious reasons. I believe Guts is. Amlchemist is one of my favorite classes, I can't picture Skrall going into that role though, so maybe my secondary character. Edited March 6, 2013 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) Endgame, you bastard, you made his specials remove our consumables just because I told you not to, didn't you? This is gunna be fun. I've never fought a TPK device before. Has Danny of the Long Legs become affiliated with Donny of the Wolfgang? They're seaping into our midst! Damn! My cover is blown! Urgh, more Hinckwell Quests. Don't get me wrong; I'm glad to see you hosting, DLL, it's just that we could really do with some more people hosting Shadeaux-sponsored Quests. Just food for thought for future QMs. Sorry. I wasn't really considering the diversity of reputations when I designed the quest. Still though, most of the current low level players haven't gotten a reputation with any of the Houses yet. I myself am thinking of becoming a Dragoon (maybe), so I understand the desire for more Shadeaux related Quests. Unfortunately, unless I changed the Hosts of the quest (which I'm not planning to do), there's really no way one could get a Shadeaux reputation from my quest. I think the players will find it enjoyable though, despite the common host. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited March 7, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Endgame Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) No, it is revenge for those goddamn Ether Cores. Eidolon is definitely beatable, ya wimps. It is the final battle, he isn't going to be a pushover! Though, I find it amusing his tail is pretty much superior to his younger brother in every single possible stat... Also, DLL, those effect removing specials are only going to be in your advantage in the long-run anyway. I can either take away your effects and have you roll devastating specials more often, or let you keep your effects and make Eidolon have a ludicrously, cataclysmic special of mass destruction to counterbalance... that you'd probably end up rolling, TKOing your party in one fell swoop. I wish I had a few ether cores. Lol, for a quest called "Death's Homecoming," Death been home for quite some time. Oh, I know. If it hadn't been "Lose all those bonuses," it'd have been "Lose all those bonuses and die." and i prefer to live. Still though, that's the most difficult monster I've ever seen here. It's gunna feel so good purging it from this world. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Endgame Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Death's Homecoming actually is mant to refer to the Death Progg, aka Rhodus. He had considered the vault in Luosh from Q36 his "home", so his return to Luosh in 48 is literally a homecoming... except the fact he brought his two far stronger brothers and 1,447 more Proggs for the party. Oh, and the guy I named my quest after was murdered 3/10 into the plot. Hah, try me! I think in terms of stats, although Eidolon is most certainly not the hardest battle Heroica has had (I chalk that one up to Battle of Dastan!) Eidolon is the strongest single entity faced thus far in Heroica. Hey, you wanted a challenge, and I gave you one! Though I can only imagine how much paper you have wasted on this quest. Quote

Yes, I know, and he (Death)'s been "home" for a long time. And Dead too. the 3/10ths part is what I was teasing about. Oh, you're so on. I think we also get the "longest Quest" too, or am I mistaken? You're the reason the Amazon Rain-forest is receding. (Allot of my science notebook) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
