PsyKater Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 How can Arnulf and Sir Brickington still be fighting in the arena when their both on a quest? Maybe it's a flashback. Quote
Endgame Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The flow of time has been twisted into a pretzel a loooong time ago. Quote
PsyKater Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 You should however refrain from using consumables since they had to disappear in your quest at the same time. Or something Quote

joeshmoe554 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 How about designing a Shadeaux Quest, then? Ok, put together a simple story framework last night, now to start detailing the fights. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 >Sorrow vs. Bad Rat E - Special Damage / Shield: Gold Reaper (74*2=148 damage to all enemies, all enemies KO'd except for Giant Rat B and Demon Frog, 106*1.5=159 gold reaped, no assassination to Giant Rat B or Demon Frog) What the devil? I thought Gold Reaper doesn't deal any damage besides assassinations. Will have to look that up. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Just confirmed it myself. Perhaps, Sorrow, realized that Raider is the way to go. ...He just gave "Ravage" a fancier name. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) Nice turn of events, Zeph! Although attempting to sap the Chaos out of Eubric alone, not to mention all Uland. Edited March 7, 2013 by Palathadric Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 How can Arnulf and Sir Brickington still be fighting in the arena when their both on a quest? They're not. In the past we've always postponed the duel until the participant(s) get back from their quests. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 GM Note: You're on a quest; you can't be posting in this topic. The duel is postponed until you two get back. I think I recall that one time the heroes were allowed to finish off their duel in the arena, even though they went on a quest, because technically they would've been finished or something. Can't recall who it was though now. Though I do think it makes more sense to just terminate the duel...I suppose. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It makes more sense if you want to avoid any sort of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff. If you don't mind a temporal pocket or a couple of paradoxes, it really isn't so bad. Quote

Flipz Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I know it's happened before, but I thought that the last time it happened we stopped the fight until they got back... I seem to recall it being continued as a "flashback" as well, I'm pretty sure either Skrall or Xander was involved. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I would just allow them to finish it, it shouldn't take too long anyway, and it's more of a shame to have it broken off than have to go through the trouble of postponing/finishing later. Not that it matters much, it's just an Arena fight, but you know, sometimes you want to show someone who's boss. Please don't take any offense, but the Arena rules aren't very... good. They don't really entice play in there for the most part. It's good that it's there, but does anyone else feel it could use a revamp? Quote
Flare Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 What the devil? I thought Gold Reaper doesn't deal any damage besides assassinations. Will have to look that up. Can someone clarify if this is true or not? Because its possible I screwed up the battle Please don't take any offense, but the Arena rules aren't very... good. Zepher Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I personally believe PvP would be better if we used the normal damage calculations. Would it be outrageously quick? Yes. Would some classes have a distinct advantage? Yes. Would it be intriguing? Yes. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Can someone clarify if this is true or not? Because its possible I screwed up the battle Gold Reaper is an 1/6 chance to assassinate each enemy + gold equal to each enemy's level. No damage! Quote
Endgame Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Gold Reaper merely reaps gold and deals out insta-kills, nothing else. Quote
CMP Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Can someone clarify if this is true or not? Because its possible I screwed up the battle Just check the Assassin description in the training room. I agree PvP should be fixed. I was thinking everyone does normal damage, but just has twice as much health. Quote

Would some classes have a distinct advantage? Yes. Would it be intriguing? Yes. It's already quick, and some classes are already severely advantageous (is that a word, I'm going to say probably), I would actually like to see it go to the other way, but there you go. Point is that Heroes are designed to kill Enemies, not other Heroes. All stats point that way. Row, SP, probably WP should probably work different to have a balanced PVP situation. Which I would like to see. What would happen is that in Pvp you won't have much use of your own specialization and style, but you should have much more chance of an epic showdown. Quote

It's good that it's there, but does anyone else feel it could use a revamp? None taken; we know they're terrible and we've been working on new rules for a while now. I'm not completely sure why they haven't been implemented yet. Quote
Endgame Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 but just has twice as much health. I was literally just about to suggest that, but then I went upstairs to get a V8. Curse you! I'd reccomend tripling it, though. Quote

Would some classes have a distinct advantage? Yes. Would it be intriguing? Yes. Yes, the Damage calculations of the current Arena rules don't make sense. Especially at the higher Levels now, Aim can be more powerful than Critical Hit. I believe the new rules are using the regular calculations and dividing them by two or three (depending on the roll) to make the battles last longer. Quote
