Kintobor Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Don't thank me, thank Sandy, he made it! But yes it is lovely! Edited March 12, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
CMP Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Awesome work, then, Sandy. Funny to see how far the quest art has come from the generic colored light background. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 The art in all of the quests is looking top notch. I really like the water effects in the first image for quest 62. Also, that drawing program is pretty cool. I created Jeaux in it, which was actually fairly easy. I deleted about as much as I added. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I love how Brothers-In-Arms, quite possibly one of the shortest quests in the history of Heroica could potentially have the greatest impact on Heroica to date. Also, I sort of goofed on the Forum title, just slightly. If a mod would fix it to coincide with the proper format for Heroica quests, it would be most appreciated. Quote
Flipz Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I love how Brothers-In-Arms, quite possibly one of the shortest quests in the history of Heroica could potentially have the greatest impact on Heroica to date. I have a very important thought about this playstyle, but it's rather late here and I'm very tired; thus, I'm having trouble thinking of the proper way to explain my...compliment? Observation? Critique? Critservament? insight (that was the word I was looking for!)...in a way that would not be totally confusing and/or potentially unintentionally insulting to those who don't follow the same practice. I'll try again in the morning. Don't let me forget, it's a powerful insight, and I'd really love to see how it affects future Quests! Quote
Costy Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Not the most Yeti-friendly program, but I gave it a go. Quote
Chromeknight Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I love how Brothers-In-Arms, quite possibly one of the shortest quests in the history of Heroica could potentially have the greatest impact on Heroica to date. So. Nemo or Reno? Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I like Reno more for a few reasons. A) He's a classical pirate which is kind of cool B) Reno is a cool name C) He believes in free trade which I happen to be a fan of Also, he's worked with the Ji Pei before, if he is in charge that may stop the rivalry between the two houses which could mean a good rep in both houses be good for Eubric. Palathadric Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Yes, come on, this isn't Quest 48 we're talking about. ~Insectoid Aristcrat Come on, suckers! Time-wise, you have nothing on 42! Quest #42 rulez forever! Nemo, all the way! Actually, Brothers-in-Arms is one of my favourite quests ever. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I (as you can see) chose Nemo, I suppose I can give my reasoning: Reno is dangerous, Guts believes there is a real chance he was the Jolly Roger, a dangerous pirate. Long time imprisonment and not even a ransom, come on! He throws away men easily, as you can see, and he was prepared to sell his brother into slavery. There's no telling what Reno would do with him ruling the Bonapartes, disarm the Bonaparte Fleet? Stop hunting down pirates? Admiral of the Bonapartes is arguably the most powerful position in Eubric, he could very easily endanger Eubric. On the other side, if Reno is taken/killed then any changes came from Reno's presence will likely be undone, and the Bonaparte will only raise taxes and sink more refugee ships. Also if word gets out that Reno/Jolly Roger was killed, there is the chance for pirates rallying, immediately after Reno's return to the Bonapartes and Jolly Roger's death, the pirates were in disarray and high ranking pirates possibly knew, if they find out the symbol of defiance to the Bonapartes is really gone, there might be trouble. With the Bonapartes fighting on the Northern seas too, this could turn out badly. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Wren has a goal. If different heroes and players want to interpret it differently, that's okay with me. Again, like real people, the characters and players may all have different ways of viewing it. I know what Wren's goal is, plain and simple, but I don't feel the need to explain it any further than I have. Everyone can feel differently about it and understand it differently. Pretty much sums it up. Haldor is just a very passionate individual who may not be the smartest and nicest bloke around, but he believes in doing what's right for the city and the world as a whole. CMP Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm interested to see how Guts will try and keep the brothers in their places. They both probably despise eachother at this point. Quote

Flipz Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 So. Nemo or Reno? Take A Third Option. Split command of the fleet between the two, with Hestia (the closest the family has to a neutral party) controlling the port itself and other land-side operations in Eubric. Both make a solemn vow never to interfere in each others' affairs. This way, neither brother has to see each other ever again, but there is no bloodshed, and Eubric improves under the watchful care of Hestia. Also, leave it to Sandy to send you three on a Quest that's actually about "finding Nemo." Quote
CMP Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Maybe Guts should just take power for himself! I'm sure that'll go over well with everyone. Hinckwell vs Shadeuax Guild of Invision vs Ziegfrieds Ji Pei vs The House of Guts Quote

Also, is essentially making another rival faction a good idea? Quote
Flipz Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Then put Hestia fully in charge, or the daughter in charge, or someone else. As long as neither of the brothers are in power, but it's still someone the fleet will accept as a commander. "Nemo or Reno" is a choice that will end badly both ways--you need to find SOME kind of Third Option for the best outcome. Quote

Heres a really good third option: Make Wren the commander, then she'll forget her mad ambitions because she's got a business now and then you'd have solved two problems Quote
