CMP Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Speaking of job class choices, Rogues are still the most popular choice, followed by Rangers. Knights and Mages come close as well, but there is suprisingly little love for Barbarians and even less for Clerics. I checked, and we haven't had a new Cleric joining the game since Monk Pretzel over a year ago. Yeah, but I've noticed they're some of the most popular advanced class choices. 9 people currently have become Clerics as a result of it, not counting original Clerics. I was considering an "Anti-Docken" character that was all offense, no defense with elemental modifiers and SP-piercing (hopefully), but I didn't think I'd have as much fun min-maxing a character like that, and it would be a lot like Guts anyways. So I have a character picked out and ready to be a Cleric, but that's probably still a year away, even considering the Medal of Glory. Quote
PsyKater Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I thought about chosing cleric, but this game is about fighting. Not healing. I thought it would be too boring. Quote
JimBee Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Edit: I should learn to read sometime. Never mind about that. To my questies: sorry for the delay. I'll update in a little bit, I've just been busy with real life and also have been sick. Thanks for your patience! Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I thought about chosing cleric, but this game is about fighting. Not healing. I thought it would be too boring. It doesn't have to be boring. Just take a look at Haldor, he has always been a lot more barbarian than cleric, but he got along fine and I have really enjoyed it. Being a cleric doesn't have to involve camping in the back row always healing everybody, unless you want to play it like that. Quote
Zepher Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I hope Flipz hasn't decided for Arthur to die when getting KOed. That would be so the opposite of climactic. Yes, nice special, Zepher! I actually think that would be super climactic, but maybe that's just my style of story telling. A character trusting something and then just suddenly dying because of it = perfect in my books. But I would like to see what is the most common base class amongst the advanced classes. I think cleric would come pretty high on the list seeing that so many knights have gone paladin. Yes, a HUGE number of people have gone healing advanced classes. Paladins, Shamans, Witches, the list is very high. Assassins, Hunters and Wardens are the only other ones I can think of that have more than one of each type. You can run the round too, Flare. If someone misses the 24 hour window, it's on them, not on the QM or the rest of the party. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 The two sets? Orc Forge and Uruk-Hai Army. You get the Internets! They're perfect for castle-ey backdrops. Since I don't have my collection with me, I am going to be using Photoshop heavily as well. Sorry about that "Morning Fog." I hope it doesn't show up later on either. Also, I wrote a song with lyrics (but I don't know how to convey the tune on-line) but unfortunately, last time I saved the Quest Doc, the song didn't save, so I'll have to re-write it. I'll post it when you exit the Tavern. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Will we see our 'old friend' again? And if so are we allowed "to bash evil"? (Sorry, but I loooove that ) Also I feel a little bit sorry for Karie... But this kind of behaviour is quite new to Nessa... all these voices make her react strange Ok I have to go to bed now. I am on a business trip and that is a long day tomorrow. I am not sure when I am able to check on #62 But I try as soon as possible... Which is in 9 hours from now I just realized that I mostly sleep 9 hours a day... Oh, what a life, I wish I had that one Ok so: good night to you all  Edited March 13, 2013 by herrJJ Quote

I won't give anything away, but it is possible that you'll meet your "old friend' somewhere along the line too. I love the dynamic you two are fostering as well. It's always fun to have rivalry in the party. (and don't worry about editing, I've got that problem myself sometimes, although it has little to do with my computor. ) I hope that the feel stays constantly good as we go along as well. I enjoy intrigue as much as I enjoy dramatic and well-placed/reasoned battle, and I hope I can convey it all properly as the quest progresses. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Palathadric Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I actually think that would be super climactic, but maybe that's just my style of story telling. A character trusting something and then just suddenly dying because of it = perfect in my books. Bah, I just wanted to start an argument. I know most people would love it, but it seems so...ridiculously pointless. Arthur could have been in the back row taking the free hit, which would not have killed him, had he drunk a potion or something. It just smacks of ridiculous machoism, but it does kind of make sense, as it seems like something Arthur would do. Well played, Flipz, but I have to say that if Arthur dies permanently I will miss the arguments he gets into with the others. I can't see very many of the heroes willing to revive him. Somehow I don't think Alexis will even realize he's missing. Yeah, but I've noticed they're some of the most popular advanced class choices. 9 people currently have become Clerics as a result of it, not counting original Clerics. Thanks for doing the math when I was too lazy too. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I don't think this would be the last we've seen of Arthur, but it can lead nicely into a dramatic "Why won't you love me" scene. Quote

I agree with CMP, I think when people first create their character they aim for a class that is really cool or one that they can relate more easily too. It's around the time they hit advanced classes that they figure out how hand clerics really are. I've got a secondary/re-roll character made up for each of the classes, all from non-major races, and while I like my cleric, I really really like my knight and would play him if there weren't so many of them already in the hall. When someone sticks with a conviction, and they're just wrong. It's literally genius writing. Even if its a bad guy and they follow a conviction to the end, even when people warn them against it, and it ends up killing them- it's perfect. Sometimes in real life people die due to ridiculous things. It makes the scene more powerful when not everything works out with obvious cause and effect, and you don't have someone to blame. You should watch Vonnegut's lecture on Hamlet, it's a very interesting critique on story. I have to hand it to Masked. Whilst the party is in turmoil and the whole city's fate hangs in the balance, not to mention her lover turning away from Heroica to support their enemy; Alexis just calmly fires another arrow without saying anything at all... It's an awesome character choice. Quote

PsyKater Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Looking at the way the eyes were done, I'd say it's a head from the older Harry Potter sets... and that's as far as I can get because I have no idea who's who in that series. That's easy! It's the old McGonagal head from the Harry Potter -theme. I've used that head for Zelda Ziegfried in this game, too. You are both right, obviously. I guess I should not posted it while Sandy is online I have her new face as well, but since no hero is fledhy, I decided to go with the old one. I consider changing the beard (using one of the Hobbit theme) and the hairpiece. I really liked the Mongolian hat. Quote
