Amma has a long range weapon while casting spells and it remains in her hands. Just when she does not use her Etheral powers, the broomstick is swirling around.

Ranged weapons are different than retrievable.

I wouldn't think so, you can cast long range spells through a close range weapon without a problem, but I haven't seen it happen before, so I'm not sure. I think there was a point in Quest 38, though...

Yeah, I would think you could just hold the shuriken or whatever and cast a spell through it, though I've never seen it happen. I think you're right a out quest 38 though, to my knowledge Nur is the only Mage character with throwing weapons. Checking now.

Sorry, I mean my avatar. I'm going to change it from Robotnik to some other Robotnik or something, I don't know yet.

I was considering changing it to the Box Ghost from Danny Phantom just for you 61ers, but alas, that never came to fruition.

And its good to see that people find Karie attractive. It's not what I was going for, but hey, being sexy's a bonus when it comes to persuading men in RPGs. That and you usually get a smaller hit box.

Half my character finds you attractive.

That would be me. I broke the entire concept of the Acerpusculum Blade/Shuriken just by being a mage. You'll notice that, when we finally saw Triad's stats, the shuriken had been altered to say "cannot be used to cast spells".

But yes, the throwing weapon is not thrown. In fact, as I understand, can't throwing weapons be used as a melee weapon, with the normal Row penalties anyway?

Question still applies. And the other half? Or do you want to keep that as a secret?

The other half would like Karie to be a Sorceress. It's in the family blood  .

I always thought that throwing weapons can only be used for ranged combat, which is why I borrowed a sword from Cronk in Quest #29 when I only had a throwing dagger to my name.

I thought the same. I believe there are a couple daggers that have the effect of being able to be used as throwing or melee weapons, and that would be meaningless if a throwing weapon could also be used for melee. (plus then there'd be no reason for a new Rogue not to choose a throwing dagger - although I suppose there's a similar situation in that there's no reason for a new Mage not to choose a broomstick)

Endy is back, with a 2nd Place trophy in tow! I'll run a round in a few minutes.

Also, it seems my name has gotten tangled in another QM debate... just remember Endy has a knack for making some pretty mean encounters...

Aside from missing his characteristic Han Solo-esque holstered crossbow, I like him. Thanks MDM!

You're welcome! I pictured Skrall having a large crossbow, but it looked wonky if I tried to put it in his hand. Glad you like it

Yeah I agree with what Brickdoctor said. It wouldn't really make sense for throwing weapons to be used as melee. If they were, well then I would just use the Banana Bladerang all the time. Also, I believe Quest 23 had a Shiv that could double as a throwing and melee weapon.

No, it damages every enemy when successfully thrown. (On that note, in further support of throwing weapons not being able to be used in melee, the bladerang's effect would make no sense in-universe if it were used as a melee weapon.)

Huh? How is this supposed to work, Zepher? Does Nyx get an action, are we trying to kill her, can we still attack Wren?

Posted

I guess you'll just have to try stuff.

But yes, Nyx DOES get an action. That part is pretty important to know.

"Thank you for the heal. I do not know if you are acquainted with the Battle Mage Nyx, but I shall be giving her pointers on how to heal with her version of that staff, as you did it so effortlessly and without the need to seemingly cave my head in at the same time!"

I love when people reference past events. Points for Rumble Strike. Always points for Rumble Strike.

So...do we list Wren in the battle order, or is Nyx out of it, or what? Can the enemies target her? Is Wren protected by Guardian Angel? Can we throw a Smoke Bomb and tell Wren to flee? Please? :innocent:

Posted

You'll have to find everything out! Smoke Bomb is pretty much the only thing I don't know how it will operate... that would be... interesting? Wait for your fellow quest mates to come online, brain storm with them!
