Endgame Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 What the heck, here is Rhodus: http://www.mediafire.com/?6a4ad7r006mc558 I think I have a 6x8 plate covering his underbelly, if not, add that. He'll never stay together if you don't. I hop from computer to computer (3 total, in fact!) so I always have a mediafire and imgur account handy. (No peeking! ) Quote
Zepher Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I think it's a sensible move for her, we haven't seen all that much from Hestia, but we do know she cares about the people of Eubric and her husband very much. If Reno was alive, there would always be strife. Makes sense to me. I didn't say it wasn't sensible. I said it was unexpected. Generally, when people's husbands beg them to save their brother's lives, they do. Hestia did not. That's unexpected. It is often (in my opinion) a mistake in literature to assume that character will or should make logical choices. Hestia made an unexpected choice in not saving Reno, even if it was the right one. Doesn't mean it's poor writing, but it does reveal something new about her character. She had the power, her husband begged for a life to be spared, and she maintained her power and said no. Can we give joeshmoe an award or something for this? As the QM, you are in the unique position of, yes, being able to reward him. Quote

Zepher Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Haha, yes, this is true, though your husband begging for his brother's life is a little different than just following his ideas. Quote
JimBee Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Flipz actually wanted to test out LDD2PovRay some time ago, and he asked me for some test subjects. The result? A quest using that would be really neat. No brick limitations for some really spectacular settings, and none of those terrible basic LDD renders (no offense, Endgame, I love your MOCs but LDD is painful to look at... not your fault ). Maybe another QM will lead a quest to hunt him down. Let Hybros have his revenge and Hoke have his flag pole. The quest would only be the two of them, of course. I wish. Such a good item (maybe Cinna could've held onto it to upgrade), but that also ruined my killing streak. The only reason it mattered (besides the weapon), though, is for in character reasons. Tarn will be getting the short end of the loot. Quote
PsyKater Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 "I know this one! I know this one! We can use a location spell to determine where they are hiding, and I know just the one." The automaton places his hands together and bows his head in concentration. He seems to call upon the forces of nature to focus all of his powers towards their current task. His hand darts towards the first grave, one digit extended ominously. His hand begins to move from grave to grave as he chants, "Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, Catch a Brobric by the toe, if falls and goes kersploot, then blame it all on a guy named zoot. There you go, if my magic is as good as it used to be, then they must be there, behind lucky number 7" This just made my day! And it is nearly over yet here. And this made it even better: The party approaches the tombstone... To the party's surprise, one of the ghosts pop out! "Oi! How did you know?" 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 There are two ghosts left... Quote

Too bad Eidolon alone took Flipz 12 hours to render. LDD looks very bare if I don't work some editing magic... too bad I'm not even that great at it. Luckily, it isn't too much of an eyesore after I'm done with it. Quote

swils Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 LDD2POVRay gives some incredible results and I've been dying to test it out, but the last time I tried (December?), I wasn't able to import the file properly, or something. Kept refusing to render. Quote

My Quest will be rendered almost entirely in LDD2POVRay, with the exception of the characters. Quote
swils Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 If I could get it to work, that would give me the perfect way to 'build' scenes that I don't have the parts for. If... heh. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Switch to LDraw and POV-Ray for better images. What do you think of this for a rendered MOC for Heroica: Quote
herrJJ Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I've found it does that with a lot of the text options. It can get annoying on occasion, but overall I still prefer Chrome over most of the browser options. Funny... I don't have these problems in Chrome. Neither on my PC nor on my smartphone. Though the point of PsyKater hits me on both, too. I have read that it is a general problem with the WYSIWIG editor and Chrome. Perhaps this issue will be fixed through an IP Board update as they are still working on a fix (just read a comment on this) Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Switch to LDraw and POV-Ray for better images. What do you think of this for a rendered MOC for Heroica: ... I'm generally a must build in RL kind of guy, but What was the render time on something like that? Quote
CMP Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I'm generally a must build in RL kind of guy, but What was the render time on something like that? Agreed, that's just awesome. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 It was nice to do some role playing again. Tarn usually follows his Party Leaders orders but this time he really didn't agree. Feel free to punish him for it, I like seeing Hybros with a ruthless streak. It fits him. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Something around 12-16 hours I believe, but I rendered this one originally 2560 by 1440. Thanks, all! Quote

Chromeknight Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Now I'm starting to seriously think about using LDraw and POV-Ray, where it not for that render time. Render time? you just need a faster computer. But then, faster computer costs money, which means less LEGO. Quote
Masked Builder Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Elite Cannoneer Cortes Elite Cannoneer Pizarro Elite Cannoneer Columbus I laughed when I realized that all of the Cannoneer's were named after explorers. Nice reference as usual Sandy. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) You missed Magellan! He attempted to find a westward route to the "Spice Islands". He was also the first individual to circumnavigate the earth. I'm curious as to who the other guards would of been named after had the fight continued. Edited March 19, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
