Zepher Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Actually, they were changed much later, when I complained about the issue in a different battle. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Every scroll-user is conspiring against you - CMP, make a run for it! I haven't weighed in on the discussion yet, and I am most certainly a scroll user. Wait, they used to count as targeting... CMP!!! Stand right here... ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Flipz Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 A certain undead, multiplying Emperor says you did indeed break the system! Have you noticed that almost all of the battles where players end up breaking the system just to survive tend to be on Zepher Quests? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Have you noticed that almost all of the battles where players end up breaking the system just to survive tend to be on Zepher Quests? I thought breaking the system was the number one priority of the player. Quote
swils Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Breaking the system? No, no.. you're all being far too negative. We're not out to break it. The goal is to find and exploit it's weaknesses without drawing enough attention TO those weaknesses to demand any revision. You Wren'ers just have a knack for being, well, whatever the blatant-opposite-of-subtle is. Maybe if you used PM's more instead of strategizing in thread? Quote
JimBee Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 They did once target enemies, but that was changed to prevent easy Free Hit blocking. (since you can't roll Damage or Special Damage while casting a Scroll) Sort of like how some of us will now have a hero heal a particularly dangerous enemy to block the Free Hit while the other enemies are dealt with, except that in the case of Scrolls, it was really unbalanced because the hero could use a negative effect Scroll. (instead of the healing which doesn't do anything to harm the (non-Undead) enemy targeted) Indeed. Also healing can, obviously, heal an enemy, as Althior did earlier in the current Fields battle. Unlike how scrolls were before, healing seems like a fair and balanced way of preventing free hits. They did used to count as targeting an enemy, but CallMePie broke the system and it had to be changed I broke the system? Namyrra broke Quest 18. Remember when scrolls prevented free hits and had a 100% chance success rate? Imagine that with today's enemies. Quote
CMP Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Imagine that with today's enemies. The ones that are immune to all effects? Wouldn't make a difference. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Have you noticed that almost all of the battles where players end up breaking the system just to survive tend to be on Zepher Quests? Not sure if blowing up the party to gain an advantage counts as breaking the system or just being insane. Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 If I do take it, it will probably be the only thing I take. I do intend to give everyone their money back that they put into the Alms bag, so don't worry about that. I hope you aren't too set on that rapier cause that is one nice rapier. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I hope you aren't too set on that rapier cause that is one nice rapier. If the three of us are set on it, I'll have the QM do a roll to see who gets it. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Technically not a revival, Roland isn't dead, nor is he actually probably there. If he's not actually there, he can't deal free hits then. Problem solved. Not sure if blowing up the party to gain an advantage counts as breaking the system or just being insane. You're confused. It counts as being awesome. What's not awesome is not rolling a shield when you get four frickin' tries at it every round. Cronk needs something more than "lucky". New status effect just for Cronk: "Divine Favor"- Cronk chooses the dice result. Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) YESS!!! Crawfee lived long enough for me to introduce my walking-pun character! Mwahahaha! But yes, next enemies are going to live longer. bloody dark wizards. Switz Mothblade “Is that a knife you've got there in your pocket or are you just stabby to see me?” Type: Humanoid Level: 8 HP: 70 Specials: (Decided by dice-roll) Knife to meet you: The Target is hit by a particularly strong blow, and takes 16 damage. Shank you very much: The Target is stabbed multiple times taking 8 damage and starts bleeding (takes another 1 point of damage until end of combat.) I'm going to use my Healing Staff on Gnash, and Nyx can lend her Healing Staff to you, then you'll get 8 tries per Round. Quote
Zepher Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I think you guys are doing pretty well anyway! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I think you guys are doing pretty well anyway! What battle have you been watching? The most damage we've done was with a bomb that took out all but 2 of our party. Wren's a level 70 (and growing) enemy that is Encouraged, Lucky, and/or Hastened (2! of those three) every round. Even without the hamstringing specials and the Chaos stuff happening, she's a real beast. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Round 2 of Facing "the Face." ... >Nessa v. Crawfee (BR) 1 Shield (14-2=12 to Marty, 14 to Crawfee) ... I thought Triple Shot would always do 3 attacks and double up (or triple up) if there were less than 3 opponents, or was this changed at some point? Quote

You may not all be conscious at the end of the battle, but it's looking like a very likely victory for you guys, especially after that most recent stunt. Imagine one of those Chaos Regulators gets a shield, or Skrall gets a shield... that's pretty much the battle right there. Remember, the Chaos Beasts/summons die with her. Quote
