Quarryman Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 2. That's a nice idea, but I think it'd be too much work to track the locations of every hero as there are already some 50 heroes in total (I think, when was the last check again?) Plus, we already have the "normal" map, we can track locations on that map too. I counted them some time last week (to make some stats regarding race/class/gender/age) and came to 72. Guess I should dig up that spreadsheet again to finish the number crunching. Though when checking the spreadsheet it has 66, so either my counting earlier was wrong, or I've deleted too much. Quote
Sandy Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 1. Could someone turn the jpegs of the Heroica RPG rules into a PDF? I'd love to have one on my iPad and to print one out for fun. 2. We should make a micro-scale/Heroica Board Game scale map of the game world and use Heroica microfigs to track our locaiton in the world! 3. While we're at it, would any future QM be interested in creating a micro-scale/Heroica board game dungeon and track the party's progress on it using a Hero Microfig? Even though it would be more work for the QM (posting pictures on forums can be a bit tedious) but the players would enjoy the virtual exploration of a dungeon or a quest area that much more, I think! 4. Is there any desire to tie in the lore of Heroica RPG to the Classic Castle world lore which is being discussed right now? Could be extremely neat and allow for a better overview of a global campaign. 1. The rules can and will still change from what they are now, so the PDF-file would have to be updated each time as well. So I'm not going to make that effort, at least not now. 2. I don't think anybody can make a map of the world in that scale, but if someone wants to build the map in LEGO, be my guest. 3. I'm actually doing that for Quest#15. The only thing that worries me is having to photograph the dungeon map over and over again as the party makes progress. I might just use some Photoshop effects to black out the parts where the party hasn't been yet, though. 4. Some players have already included Classic Castle factions as part of their character's background stories, but in my opinion everyone should rather use their own imagination at least to a certain extent when filling the blanks in this game world. Chromeknight Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the insightful statistics, but you missed my point. I wasn't saying that Capt.JohnPaul was giving too much stuff, I was saying he was giving stuff away too easily. But I admit that it's hard balancing the battles because so much of them is depending on the die rolls. In the future QMs should always remember that weak enemies - no matter how many of them there are in the battle - can be easily defeated by a bomb or a Frenzy or a Magic Burst. I understand. Because it was off the main plotline (as admitted by CJP) and was an easy battle, it does give the impression of a 'freebie'. I wonder if there is a way to construct a horde battle, a mass of weak enemies that won't simply be toppled by a bomb/burst/frenzy... Edited November 7, 2011 by Chromeknight Quote
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) I have a question about merging weapons. Say I merge a wand with Topaz and Aquamarine. How does it effect Aquatic monsters? Edited November 7, 2011 by K-nut Quote
Sandy Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 I have a question about merging weapons. Say I merge a wand with Topaz and Aquamarine. How does it effect Aquatic monsters? It will cause normal damage to aquatic monsters, since the effects of the two elements nullify each other. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Sandy, I think it's great with your new quests that they are following up with some old ones. I wonder if the heroes that are chosen for quest 13 will find the stolen crates. I think this really allows a story to develop which is great for the game. Quote
Quarryman Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 So, I really should automate this I guess, copy&paste with manual cleanup is too cumbersome and error-prone. But anyway, some stats: Male characters: 52 Female characters: 13 Unknown gender: 1 (Sylph) Classes: Knight: 17 Rogue: 12 Cleric: 8 Mage: 10 Ranger: 10 Barbarian: 9 Races: Human: 35 Elves: 11 Orc: 4 Dwarves: 3 Halflings: 2 Fenarian: 1 Imp: 1 Metasimian: 1 Naga: 1 Norseman: 2 Ogre: 1 Pantanan: 1 Shade: 1 Vertically challenged giant : 1 Unknown: 1 And if I've missed some characters feel free to correct me, also, elven characters above includes the half-elves due to me being lazy. Waterbrick Down Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 To those in Quest 11, I like giving you free reign to go anywhere, but I will let you know that you will not be able to access either the Heroica Library or Fort Bonaparte, all the clues necessary to solve the quest have been given and I think letting you run around in circles chasing down rabbit trails would be a disservice to you and may keep you from being able to participate in any of the newer quests that have been posted, thus the reason for me telling you this in advance. Rumble Strike Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 We must have more than 12 Rogues - about half of them have signed up for Quest#13 at any rate! Quote
Tanma Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Nice to know our hall's stats, apparently knights are the most beloved class of the forum. But we rogues are still in second! But I must warn you that De'kra's current stats might not be a hundred percent right. Edited November 7, 2011 by Tanma Quote

Yes but you are dealing with a group who thought the turban was important This could still take a while. Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nice to know our hall's stats, apparently knights are the most beloved class of the forum. In terms of active players, there are more rogues about. At least half the knights have only posted to sign up but not since. The game needs more clerics! Quote
CMP Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yes but you are dealing with a group who thought the turban was important This could still take a while. Hey, he did say it was bright white.... Everything seems related, but I just can't tell how it fits together... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 My only suggestion is to take everything that has been said into consideration and remember carefully everything you have seen thus far. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 So guys, go over the quest thread like hawks whilst I sleep! I'll check in in the morning to see if we've solved it yet Quote

I'll check in in the morning to see if we've solved it yet I have already been over it, though not quite all of it. One thing that stood out was the he did not even ask about the ruby at Mandrel's. K-Nut Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Was I the only one to see that Quest #12 was momentarily locked? Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Are you really sure you should be looking at this? Let them figure it out. I think WD has it covered. Jorgevorg Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hey guys! I am trying to post my character but am running into the following issue. Whenever I try to edit my signature to include the character information as per the game's rules, I am unable to format tit to occupy more then 2 lines. However I see a lot fo people having nice, long signature files that are not linked images. How do you manage to accomplish that? Quote
