CorneliusMurdock Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 And we're all going to be enraged for the rest of the battle. I really hope we bash her good. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Guardian Angel protects from negative effects. You're right! Awesome! That means we'll all be protected from Backbreaker, too, but she'll still have to use up her ether. Quote
Zepher Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Backbreaker doesn't cost ether, but yes, you're safe from both it and enraged! Quote
Flare Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) I have to admit, the ending of the battle in #48 was truely epic Edited March 21, 2013 by Flare Quote
PsyKater Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I have a few questions regarding the effects, especially Blinded and Slowed. If a hero is blinded he cannot attack physically for three rounds. Does that mean a mage can still cast spells? And can someone else (with a physical attack, say a knight) still target an enemy to prevent free hits? If a hero is slowed he can only act every other round, so this means he can't do anything every other round? No consumables, no weapon change etc. But Sentinel is up when it is rolled the round before no matter what, right? Thanks in advance Kintobor: Thank you very much for bringing the ghosts back. I had planned to attack them either way, but somehow there was no opportunity / I had missed that point. This battle looks much harder than the first And I don't know what you changed in the stats but I think they were undead before. You could have left one undead, as two of us could attack him (just saying), but with those specials and HP it will be tough enough with this setup. (Thanks for the purse as well. I still hope Amma finds a Diamond (or a purse full of Diamonds) before the next undead enemies show up Quote
CMP Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Yes to both. I believe you can still target enemies while Blinded, but all of your attacks will Miss instead of landing (Damage and Special Damage takes place normally). Quote
PsyKater Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Thanks. Then this strategy should work for some rounds. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 QM Note: Poor misguided Eric... As long as he belongs to Heroica, Hestia IS his leader. Somebody has to pay for all the free liquor in the Hall... Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I don't think you can still target the enemy with a melee attack while blinded. Never seen that anyway. Quote

Well, what's a physical attack then? Or let me say: what is not a physical attack then? Wait, are you even talking about casting spells? Edited March 21, 2013 by PsyKater Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Well, what's a physical attack then? Or let me say: what is not a physical attack then? Wait, are you even talking about casting spells? Physical = with force, so a weapon, non-physical = spells, healing. Quote
PsyKater Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Okay, I think I understand now. You mean that you cannot prevent free hits while being blinded with melee weapons. Jeaux had found this in Q#56: OOC: I'm checking in the Rules thread now, but as I understood it a blinded person could still target an enemy, I found examples in Quests 2, 15, and 35. I still think Brickington should attack the Apprentice to avoid the free hit and in the (it seems unlikely) chance he might roll a shield and go into the sentinel position. If he can't attack, then I think Brickington should use a potion on Em, so Em can attack and prevent a free hit. If we can't do that, then the best we could hope for is if I roll a shield, I'll kill the Cobrawler, thus preventing him from getting a free hit. Oh, and you could say that it makes sense: Trying to attack the enemy while blinded keeps him busy (crouching to the attack) after all. Quote
JimBee Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 The amount of gold Alexis has is too damn high! And after half of a quest... Quote
Flipz Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) The amount of gold Alexis has is too damn high! And after half of a quest... I feel you. I have no idea why Arthur can't seem to roll a few SHIELDs...maybe now that he's not Lucky. Although, when Arthur DOES roll a SHIELD, he usually gets like 400 Gold in one go, thanks to Zeph's insane enemies. Edited March 21, 2013 by Flipz Quote
UsernameMDM Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 If Black Knight had gold related abilities, I would go Black Knight. But, it does go against Hoke's character. Quote

You could have left one undead, as two of us could attack him (just saying), but with those specials and HP it will be tough enough with this setup. Originally all 3 enemies were undead. You and Heckz would have been fine casting spells. I bought 3 Holy Bombs at the marketplace since I figured we'd be fighting undead, so those could have reduced all of the enemies by 30 HP. Zoltan could have still used sentinel to protect the party even if he couldn't damage the ghosts, and both he and Em could have thrown potions at the enemies to damage them if need be. It would have been a more difficult fight, but far from impossible. Quote

It'd be still nice to see some gems until then (I mean they don't even need to be Diamonds), but we will have to have patience We will see... Quote

Yes, you can target enemies when you are blinded, but your physical attacks (ie. not spells or healing) just won't connect. 2. Yes. Sentinel is not affected by slowed. Quote
