PsyKater Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Cool. .................goes to check R&D..................Bound effect not applicable to enemies. So how does this work? Easy: 1/3 chance to bind yourself, 2/3 chance to be useless Quote
Endgame Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 If I'm right, then Wow. That's not a twist I saw coming! (Wouldn't have gotten it without that hint though. Well Played Endgame, Well played! You're right with the age, but not the identity. The Mythrogg is said to be big enough to destroy palaces with a single haymaker... Doesn't quite fit The Regret. The two were related in some manner, however, but not everything can come to light in Dini Manor. Quote
Masked Builder Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I used one of my summons to hold Violetta captive, and to escape too, back in #33. Quote
Flare Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I used one of my summons to hold Violetta captive, and to escape too, back in #33. Oh yeah that was creative, I remember that especially well since Benji loved the idea of running away with the person we're supposed to be turning in Quote

I've got other thoughts on that though too. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Zepher Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Actually I believe I said it didn't have much effect on the wet hull. It wasn't creative. If something is incoming, trying to shoot at it before the battle isn't going to be working out. It'd be the same if Guts would throw a knife before the battle had started, would it be allowed? of course not. Incorrect, because knife throwing is not your job trait. Using magic outside battles is a mage's. And I think it is creative, considering no one else had tried it before or since. Not saying we should have circumvented the battle, but a nice burned effect on the Orcs perhaps would have made it fair and would have encouraged the use of the job trait, as opposed to just saying "I don't think this is creative enough." Perhaps the mage can't destroy the scaffolding, but because of her quick thinking the villain is Weakened for the first Round as he tries to regain his footing. Not game-breaking, but still rewarding thinking outside the box. Enemy unable to attack for the first round. Damage, special damages and free hits negated. Exactly, I would allow for that too, assuming someone used the job traits BUILT INTO THE GAME to accomplish it. Next time you try to flee a battle, Guts (not the he would try OR need to, damn bad@ss power machine ) I'm going to say that you didn't try to flee creatively enough. Quote

The Job trait deals with obstacles, nothing else. You know nothing about Guts's fleeing, with dancing shoes, he will moonwalk away, he will boogy off in the sunset! The creative power behind his escape will be worthy of song! Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 The Job trait deals with obstacles, nothing else. I am almost certain that Sandy has not stated anywhere that magic can only be used outside battle to overcome obstacles. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 "When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled. Yes, brave Sir Guts turned about, and valiantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat. A brave retreat by brave Sir Guts!" Quote
Zepher Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Yes, and your natural respite better have very specific explanations of why it works so well every time from here on in. I'm not trying to harp on the one occurrence, or that one job trait, or you in any way. I think we all as QMs need to be more allowing of the use of job traits, and less allowing of the use of things that aren't job traits. It's just my two cents. Quote

Perhaps his Sandiness could comfirm this? Quote

Cutcobra Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I'm looking for a chance to use my Sylvanias Cowl. Your character should have a permament trait that allows him to talk to wolves. Quote
Flipz Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Your character should have a permament trait that allows him to talk to wolves. No, he needs one that lets him dance with wolves. Man, I can't wait for the 53 fight to be over. I've got a LOT of talking with people to do, and I can't exactly do it in the middle of combat. So excited, though, looking back, there's been quite a bit of character development! I can't wait to explore it! Quote
Endgame Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Well, Wren is pretty much toast in one/two more rounds... unless Zeph has a third phase planned. That'd be plain naughty. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Love being a Mystic Knight. My sword and shield have both increased their WP & SP by 3 over this quest. Not too shabby. Quote
Zepher Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Yeah, I'm going to be a Mystic Knight at some point soon. As soon as a plot point works out. I need a big ground breaking quest. I love the little quests, but haven't ever had a big life changing experience except a little bit with Bluehood. Boomingham needs to go on a war quest, paladin quest, or a main storyline quest with a big choice in it. Quote

I may have something for you, not really on the Quest I'm working on (although I'd love love LOVE to have you on it anyway--and come to think of it, it IS a pretty good fit for current Boomers and his attitude towards money...), but at a near point afterward. Zepher Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I'd love to go on a quest with you, I'm sure you'd run a fast paced quest!! I'll see when Flare lets us out. I REALLY want to go on another Sandy quest at some point in the near future too. Quote
