I was just looking through my Artifacts and figuring out my available Arena strategies, and I have a question: how do Free Hits work in the Arena? Do they work the same as in Quests, or...?

I don't think there are Free Hits in the Arena. Even if you don't act, your opponent already gets an action anyways.

Ah, OK. In that case, would my Cloak of Deception give me a 1/6 chance that opponent attacks hit the opponent instead of me?

My personal opinion is that it would be rendered useless in the Arena, similar to how battle effects are different for heroes than for enemies and just as special modifiers like imbued elements are useless in the Arena.(We've also considered items that would only work in the Arena and be useless in quests, to balance that.) Not sure what the other GMs think, though.

The rules definitely need to be rebalanced first before worrying about specific artifacts. I see this just like job traits and class strengths though, some classes are going to have more advantages in the arena than others and by extension some players with certain artifacts will have more advantages than others.

Arthur should gain a Scroll Of Deepness: The individual is so deep that the enemies can't even see him/her, making them blind.

Well, that battle took more time than the previous! I hope you all enjoyed it and didn't get bored by it's length. I loved doing the dialogue for the Po Brothers. You all get more time to ask questions and whatnot. I'm going to be very busy tomorrow, and likely won't check in until the evening.

You only need to worry about that if you talk to the same person twice... or people cross-reference.

Sandy (or Pie, if you know), regarding the Rattlesnake's "Constrict" Special (in the Fields), does Knocking Out the hero in 3 Rounds unless defeated first count as Instant-KO since it doesn't matter how much HP the hero has, or does it not count since it takes place over 3 Rounds?

It could be considered Instant-KO at the end of 3 Rounds, since even if a hero has full HP, he'll still get Knocked Out at that time.

Of course it's counted as an instant KO (or sudden death). Any move that can knock out a hero even if he had a million health is counted as sudden death. Isn't that self-explanatory?
