Scubacarrot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So Shadeaux and Ji Pei don´t compromise each other, nor would it compromise either if you were to go on Masked´s quest! So I have to have 3 Shadeaux reputation to be a Dragoon since I have 1 Hinkwell reputation point? I think you can be Good with both houses, just not great, so you´d only need two. You just can´t be Great with rivalling houses. Don´t quote me on that though. Quote
Sandy Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Where is the list of rival houses located? I don't want to jeopardize my JP status and want to work on my Shadeaux status. For future reference, the rivaling families are listed both in the Library and the Training Room topic (in the latter's case, you can find it under the "Expert Job Classes" headline). Quote

OK, thanks. Checked the Expert thread and didn't see it there. Quote
Cutcobra Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 So I have to have 3 Shadeaux reputation to be a Dragoon since I have 1 Hinkwell reputation point? I think that gaining good reputation with the Shadeaux will just make your good reputation with the Hinckwells dissapear. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The sad thing is that Hoke is a straight laced guy, and I can't see him doing anything Shadeaux-y (rim shot!). But in all Heroica concerned seriousness, Hoke may not make it to Dragoon... Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The sad thing is that Hoke is a straight laced guy, and I can't see him doing anything Shadeaux-y (rim shot!). To the best of my understanding, the Shadeaux aren't 'evil' or 'bad'. Conversely, the Hinckwells aren't 'good'. None of the houses fall into such categories. It's just how they've been portrayed in the majority of the Quests they've appeared in, leading to some stigmatisation. Hopefully some future quests will remedy that. Quests which require Metasimians. Quote

I see how that is, but since they are being portrayed as less than ideal people to work with/for, it's going to be a stretch for Hoke. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Eh, there are ways around it. I could make Hoptet sign up, but misspell his name as 'Hoke Ablesword'! Quote

Scubacarrot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Ooc: He didn't follow, you edited... Actually I didn't, I just posted something later which caused the posts to merge, the editting was spelling. It's just to tie things together. Quote

Well, depending on your outlook, the monopoly the Hinckwells are attempting to acquire on the cloth trade (sure they've spruced the wording up) by taking advantage of underlying corruption in a poverty-stricken city in my quest is relatively questionable ethics-wise. I'm actually surprised/pleased that no one decided not to go along with Dill's quest because of this. Money does indeed make the world go round. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 3, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

If anyone's wondering, the song's from Cabaret, one of my all time favourite musicals. The song's called Money. I'll post a link in a bit, since I'm currently on my phone. Quote
