Professor Flitwick Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) Seriously? Ashes to Ashes is many things, but it certainly ain't philosophical! I'd like to imagine that, one day, a post-apocalyptic society may use the gospel of Gene Hunt as part of their pantheon. Just think how many great works of art can be made by studying his words! url=" Edited April 7, 2013 by Professor Flitwick Quote
Endgame Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Yes, Endgame, let us engage in glorious battle! I've saved the best for last - wouldn't you agree? I may not have as much options as you guys, but make no mistake: I am strategizing here. When I said smart, I literally meant that a human being was in (partial) control. Now them, 48ers... ready to kill your dear old QM? Quote

A figurative game of chess... We'll see who gets to Engame first, now won't we?! (I'll post the battle order in an our or two. Sorry.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) Sorry for the Double post, but I forgot to ask: Do Minstrel's songs function like an Evoker's summon, the singing being passive with an uphold cost of 1 ether, or must they be actively re-sung each turn? (ie: can I have Aquos sing Nanny's lullaby for a second turn and attack?) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 7, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Endgame Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) You have to keep signing - "As long as the song is sung." Edited April 7, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Endgame Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Singing, rather. I don't believe Aquos can technically sign anything, considering his former blindness... Quote

Endgame Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I don't think Minstrels can sing more then one battle song per round. Quote
Flipz Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I don't think Minstrels can sing more then one battle song per round. I seem to recall that being correct; a Hastened Minstrel can attack twice OR sing a battle song. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I don't think Minstrels can sing more then one battle song per round. Ah, OK. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Sandy Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 I don't think Minstrels can sing more then one battle song per round. That's right - even if the Minstrel is hastened, he can only sing one song per round. That's because he will be singing the whole time the others are fighting. Quote
Endgame Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 That's because he will be singing the whole time the others are fighting. So singing a song then attacking while hastened is also out the window? Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I've worked it out. Only 18 more gold and I can have two Weapons at WP14 and WP15. But, CMP, how effective is the Witches Tallisman? Quote
CMP Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 But, CMP, how effective is the Witches Tallisman? If you're planning to remain in an offensive capacity as Witch (don't know if I'd recommend it or not, only 1/3 of your rolls actually involve you landing a physical hit, fewer than even a basic Rogue) then it's pretty much a necessity to remain useful. Sandy Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 So singing a song then attacking while hastened is also out the window? Yes! How clearly must I say it: a minstrel can EITHER attack OR sing a battle song per round, no matter if he is hastened, accelerated, quickified, time-travelling and running all at the same time. Quote

How clearly must I say it: a minstrel can EITHER attack OR sing a battle song per round, no matter if he is hastened, accelerated, quickified, time-travelling and running all at the same time. So there's little reason for a minstrel to be hastened? How disappointing. (Sorta, it still rocks, it's just not as OP as I thought) Whelp, change of plans. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 7, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Just think how many great works of art can be made by studying his words! -snip- Too true, that programme was worth watching simply for Hunt's words of wisdom and the select 80s music. Gene Hunt could be considered a badarse... but no, he's so much more than that. 'Today my friend, you diary entry will read "Took a prozzie hostage and was shot by three armed bastards".' Quote

(and if you roll Shield twice, then I assume that after the second roll, you switch songs and only the effects of the second song affect the battle) Quote

Accelerated? Hmm... attacking 3 turns per round? How about jerked, snapped, crackled, or popped for 4, 5, 6, and 7 turns per round? Quote
