Scubacarrot Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I don't know if you are having a bad day or something, but your behaviour is getting obnoxious. Please knock it out before anyone takes offense. You are entitled to your opinions, but please don't present them as the One and Only Truth. If anyone is offended, I apologize, not my intention. If I present something as the one and only truth, I am not (100%) serious. The second thing you are quoting was clearly a joke, there is no way to play a game wrong. If you enjoy it, that's great. Often it's even more fun to not play certain games as intended, and I do enjoy breaking games, if you will. I am not bashing on anyone that enjoys the fields or anything, I'm just saying, it's not for me, and I wouldn't like to be obligated to do them in order to keep up with others, but for the rest, it's all good. No bad blood anywhere, everything's fine, with me, anyways? Quote
Flipz Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Scuba, I present this video to you and anyone else interested in the issue, and then let's drop it. My final thought: Doc, Pie, and Sandy are all masters of this. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I'm a little confused as to how or why Sorrow is in an extra fight... but I assume it will be explained? I don't think it needs an explanation, but if you want one, look over any of his Quests. What is this Heroica player's obsession with Tv Tropes. I've seen like 4 links to that website today! It's amazing? It's like Rick-Rolling but you're trapped all day! Seriously though, I've been compiling a list of tropes to which my villains comply that I plan to post at the end of the Quest. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 First, let me just say that I find this discussion not offending, but hilarious. Actually, I would not be opposed to the proposition of non-Guardian Fields enemies dropping nothing but consumables. I'm in it for the XP, and there's already the opportunity to trade GP for some very decent loot. The Fields are for players who just want to do battles and level up; and any loot dropped by enemies is just a nice bonus. And contrary to popular belief, I do now have ideas of how I want to roleplay my characters (I didn't when I started playing.); I just choose not to do it with Docken. I do plan to do more roleplaying and less min-maxing with my second character. Quote
Flipz Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) I don't think it needs an explanation, but if you want one, look over any of his Quests. I will freely admit, my character idea for Carly Swift didn't really blossom into what it is until I saw Flare's NPCs. My roleplay guide for her basically reads "what would Flare do? + sing parodies of the most awful pop culture songs possible". ...aaaand now you know where I got her name. Was going to wait to do that. Ah well. Edited April 11, 2013 by Flipz Quote
Endgame Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) I think he was referring to my quests. Speaking of which, despair, 48ers! The time for a new round of the battle to be run has cometh! Edited April 11, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Scuba, I present this video to you and anyone else interested in the issue, and then let's drop it. My final thought: Doc, Pie, and Sandy are all masters of this. And from this I have learned that there are only 2 combat systems that I enjoy. 1. Heroica. Because It's the thrill of the roll of the dice. It's exciting to see if you rolled special damage or Shield. Whenever I'm on a quest I usually wake up to see that the Qm has updated the battle and I look to see how I did and I excitedly scroll down and whatever. It's like christmas for me... 2. Assasin's creed. I Don't know why but It's awesome. I can see that Flipz's quest is going to be awesome. I will freely admit, my character idea for Carly Swift didn't really blossom into what it is until I saw Flare's NPCs. Flipz Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Yes, but mixing QMing with player experience... I don't know, not really a fan. ...? I'm a bit confused as to what you are referring to. Who's Carly Swift? "This show just got interesting." "Erm, forgive me for asking, but...who are you and why are you judging MY show?" "Are you batty, old gnome?" "Halfling--" "Whatever. I've been singing here since Grogmas, after a chance encounter with a heroic force led from my life of hopeless poverty to my meteoric rise to stardom!" "Whoa-whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh...Didn't even have to try; I'm always a good time! Whoo!" "You know me, Pike-man, my man! They all do! I'm the greatest star Olegia has ever seen! I'm....Carly...Swift!" "...oh dear..." Ladies and gentlemen, Carly Swift. Oh, and for the record, Carly HAS indeed been around the Theatre since Grogmas, there is at least one Hero who has had an interaction with her around that time. Edited April 11, 2013 by Flipz Quote

Unpaid Assassin Level 60 God Health: 1500/1500 SP: 30 Special: Retribution - Unpaid Assassin uses a random special selected from either U'Vires, Vonnetate, Mephisto, Zane, Zee, Zander, the Magician, and anybody from a Zepher Quest who can claim to have been at least part god at some point or another. Passive Special II: Friggin' Immortal - Unpaid Assassin will three positive effects every round. Passive Special IIl: Die, Die, Die - No Shield rolls. Think I've got a slightly better revenge card in my hand, but I won't be able to play it until my third or fourth Quest (due to having to set up NPCs and story and mechanics and the like). And unlike most "QM revenge schemes", mine will not only be revenge, but it will actually be mechanically fair and necessary AND will make perfect sense WITHIN the storyline! ...that and mine will make all parties involved incredibly happy; they will get their megablocks kicked, and they will ENJOY and be GLAD it happened. I would QM one day but me and maths do not get on. Me and maths get on fine, I just don't have the time to build. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I have created my second character in Lego form already . Absolutely pointless seeing as I doubt I'll ever get to level 50. See, that's what I'm saying. Not a fan of random "hey, this guy deserves an extra fight because of his QM style", but rather "this guy deserves an extra fight because of his QM style... here's how it makes 100% sense in the story" should be employed. But I don't know how Flare did it, so perhaps it was motivated. Quote
