Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Just compared you to our other two Berserkers, Tensi and Tarn. You...I hate to say this, but you would destroy Tensi in a fight at the moment, and Tarn is only a threat thanks to Stun...and even then, he'd be dealing scratch damage. That said, Tensi has quite the advantage on you in terms of Gold, so once Pep read this she'll probably optimize against you. Quote
CMP Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Costy, that is an awesome stat build for a starting Berserker, and great representation in the new picture as well. Well done! Agreed. His SP rivals even Docken's thanks to that Fur Coat. Quote
Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Holy crap. Nagure's Defense is second in Heroica only to Docken...! Also, I just realized that the people on Q50 have the advantage of Sandy owning both their minifigs AND the parts representing all of their new equipment. I think they ought to take advantage of this. Quote
Endgame Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Alex has 13 SP. But still, woah, Nagure - You really must've been on Father Grogmas's nice list! Also, blurrrgh. Just looking through the older pages of this thread, I was really oblivious to Heroica when I first joined up. Several people asked several times to actually complete my character profile, and I didn't even notice. I'm compensating now. Edited April 20, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Endgame Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Gah, I forgot he had that SP: 9 shield! Nagure is a brick wall at this point... with a moderatley powerful weapon with good elements to boot. Remind me not to go against him in the arena. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 It's possible that I won't get to update either 61 or 48 today. I'll do my best, but I have very limited time. Sorry Questies. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Actually, since it's pertinent to strategy, I think I'll let Karie respond to Amorith before running the round. Sorry if that delays things, guys. I must say, I'm quite pleased you picked this battle to fight, because, at the rate you were going, you'd have made it to Fleur by now, and I'm not ready for that yet. If Nagure and Alex fought, though, I think Alex'd win due to his piercing weapon. Piercing weapons rock. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 20, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I find it ironic--the two Heroes to reach Level 30 first are the two least interested in their available Expert Class options. I don't think Docken has any EC's available, actually. Still, there's 5 people in the Fields party--surely ONE of them will succumb to the siren call of the Level-Up shrooms. Yeah, my only reputation at the time is Good for the Ziegfrieds. (And I think it's fairly obvious that I wouldn't go for Necromancer anyways; I've said before that none of the existing Expert Classes interest me due to the lack of a bow+shield class.) My other quests are five quests including two Fields runs for individuals not part of a faction, plus one Wren quest from before Chaos Regulator was offered. Also, epic Fields run is over. Quote
swils Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Also, epic Fields run is over. Let's do it again! Quote
Flare Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Let's do it again! Perhaps there are other people who might be interested, gotta give other people a turn too Also, who is thunderpants? Quote
Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) plus one Wren quest from before Chaos Regulator was offered. I still think it's a shame that the Chaos Regulator isn't open to people from other Wren Quests. Jess, Hybros, and Tensi really deserve to be able to go that route. ...I want to go on another Quest with Tensi. I got too wrapped up in myself on 38 (the culmination of which was seen in my obnoxious behavior in 53), and I missed a lot of opportunity with her. Her roleplaying in that pre-boss discussion really shaped how I saw Arthur (and the real world, for that matter), it was really great stuff. Nerwen, Arthur, Tensi, Skrall, Dyric, Sorrow. Now THAT's a dynamic roleplaying party. Let's make it happen sometime. Let's do it again! One day...you, me, Docken, and a couple others for good measure... Also, I SO want to see Chromeknight QM some day. Edited April 20, 2013 by Flipz Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 One day...you, me, Docken, and a couple others for good measure... Still need to get together that Fields Dream Team. Throw in Hybros or Dyric for assassination, Erdathcath for perma-Lucky Druid, Atramor for poisoning everyone, Cronk as Paladin/Minstrel for more tanking/support... I think Skrall has a slight edge on Xander right now among Hunters, to add a big Damage-dealer to the mix. Quote

Don't forget, Hybros and Atramor have the advantage of stats knowledge, especially in the harder areas. Cronk will never go to the Fields, though. Remember last time we asked? I would have listed Alexandre because of that awesome Mail he has, but if he goes Black Knight instead of Paladin, that pretty much nullifies his usefulness for the dream team...and Boomingham isn't exactly well-built for something like the Fields (no offense, Zepher). You know, what we REALLY need in the Fields is a Skirmisher or a Regulator...hmm...let's take this back to PM, shall we? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Cronk will never go to the Fields, though. Remember last time we asked? Right. Well with the current heroes, his position can be partially filled with Arthur as effects support (through Scrolls) and Docken tanking. I think eventually a Minstrel will be as important a role in any party as a Druid, though. Notice that the list doesn't include Arthur I was adding to Flipz's list, which already includes Arthur. Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Notice that the list doesn't include Arthur I'm the only Hero that can take Skirmisher OR Regulator. I'm also the only Hero who can reliably inflict Jinxed (as a permanent ability rather than a consumable) at the moment. As Doc and Swils will soon see, both options are HIGHLY attractive for Fields work. Right. I keep forgetting my Scrolls are actually useful. (Dang you, Zepher! ) That makes three potential strategies Arthur is well-suited for. I've said all along that my mechanical goal for Arthur is that he become one of the most flexible Heroes possible. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I keep forgetting my Scrolls are actually useful. (Dang you, Zepher! ) If your negative effect Scrolls aren't useful, you can always give them to me to imbue. I'd like to see a team with three or four Minstrels: one giving Lucky, one giving Hastened, and one to sing whichever lesser-used song needs to be sung, with all three rotating singing the Ether-replenishing song when necessary. Then just one or two of the big Damage dealers and possibly a tank with a Smoke Bomb just in case. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Ooh, I forgot that Minstrels could also give Encouraged. New plan: King Guts and his Court Order of Actions: Minstrel sings Rapid March. Minstrel sings Lucky Chant. Minstrel sings Ballad of Bravery. Minstrel sings Esoteric Melody. Guts Holla kills everything without having to use consumables. (Guts then doesn't have to buy consumables, so he gives the Minstrels 250 Gold or so each which is practically nothing to him, and upgrades Lifestealer to WP: ∞.) Quote

I don't think Skrall will go either class though, it's hard to give up doing damage that tends to average in the triple digits. Regulator is cool, but not consistent enough for me to strategize with. Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 posades, you can keep the White Marksman's Hat for now if you want to; I have no space to equip it. Don't really care when or how much you pay for it. Quote

Oh, that's right! Still, you put it best. Actually, looking back, Regulator IS a great class that can be strategized around...just not in the battles we were facing. Our enemies all had TONS of Specials, and lots of annoying immunities--not to mention that we literally had NO idea what we'd end up facing, we had to split the party, the enemies were CRAZY high-leveled, AND our Regulators were missing one of their most valuable assets: their shields. I guarantee if we had thought to give Hoke's shield to Hans while Hoke used those Twin Broadswords, Hans would have survived. Quote
