Scubacarrot Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Ooh, I forgot that Minstrels could also give Encouraged. New plan: King Guts and his Court Order of Actions: Minstrel sings Rapid March. Minstrel sings Lucky Chant. Minstrel sings Ballad of Bravery. Minstrel sings Esoteric Melody. Guts Holla kills everything without having to use consumables. (Guts then doesn't have to buy consumables, so he gives the Minstrels 250 Gold or so each which is practically nothing to him, and upgrades Lifestealer to WP: ∞.) No matter how attractive it would be to have a bunch of minstrels all sing songs about Guts' greatness, by then Guts will likely be able to mass produce his own consumables. Quote
CMP Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 No matter how attractive it would be to have a bunch of minstrels all sing songs about Guts' greatness, by then Guts will likely be able to mass produce his own consumables. Guts would make a better businessman than a king anyway. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 What about a Merchant-King? I have hinted before that Guts was a very succesful businessman before going into the business of murdering people. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 No matter how attractive it would be to have a bunch of minstrels all sing songs about Guts' greatness, by then Guts will likely be able to mass produce his own consumables. So then you can go sell those instead of using them, and be even richer, which means even higher WP! Quote
CMP Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) What about a Merchant-King? Can you think of a single merchant king in any work; book, play, movie, video game, in anything, that hasn't been fat and/or completely corrupt? Edited April 20, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Can you think of a single merchant king in any work; book, play, movie, video game, in anything, that hasn't been fat and/or completely corrupt? I read this book once... Only one I can think of at the moment. Quote
Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Grr...! Can't decide if a Level-Up mushroom is a reasonable investment! (I know that medal isn't for me, since most of my best Artifacts are Accessories...) Quote
Flare Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 After another successful trip to the Farmer Donauld's fields, I return to the Hall, setting my shield and bow down against the wall next to an empty table. Benji walks over to the empty table and steals Docken's shield. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Benji walks over to the empty table and steals Docken's shield. Maybe I should pick it back up; that sounds like something Jeb might do. Quote
Chromeknight Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Also, I SO want to see Chromeknight QM some day. That day is coming. I'm working on sets and photography. When things settle down after moving house and middle of year conferences I'll be ready to apply to Sandy. Quote
Flipz Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Maybe I should pick it back up; that sounds like something Jeb might do. Might be interesting to see, perhaps I could intro my plans for Arthur a day early if he tries. In any event, now I have to make an unplanned NPC-only post. Thanks a lot. Quote

Flare Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Sandy, how long is Quest #66 planned to be? A relatively short quest or a longer one? Quote
Rumble Strike Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I echo the awe of Bezerker Nagure. Glad to see Floodgate's Stone Hammer is being used too. Nice work Costy! Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I hope I can impress as many people when I'm level 15... :P Quote
Jebediahs Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Maybe I should pick it back up; that sounds like something Jeb might do. Absurd, I only take what is boldy traded. Agreed. His SP rivals even Docken's thanks to that Fur Coat. Indeed. S'y I voted for that thing as best item created during the Henrys event. I hope now because of the attention QMs don't start dropping high SP artifacts like candy. I know that's something Masked might do *cough* introducing second Loaded Die to the game *cough*cough* Gift wrapping a mythril shard for Guts*cough*Insane robe thankfully nerfed*cough*cough*. But if they must, at least keep them tailored for knights or non-rogue type front line melee. Quote
swils Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Lucky Dice would be fine if the "Lucky" was counterbalanced by, say, "Fragile" and was ineligible for scroll-imbuements, so that you could never nullify the weakness. That's the real problem, as I see it; there's no drawbacks attached to most of the stronger items. E: Jeez, y'all are so eager to level up. I need to level down. Can't be going dragoon (should I ever get the rep) with my dragon refusing to cooperate! Edited April 20, 2013 by swils Quote

UsernameMDM Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Sandy, how long is Quest #66 planned to be? A relatively short quest or a longer one? Seconded. We will be back in time to make it in the Fields of Glory? Quote
Endgame Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Hm, is it just me, or is the Medal of Glory a whole lot better then the Pitchfork of Domination? Quote
Flare Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Hm, is it just me, or is the Medal of Glory a whole lot better then the Pitchfork of Domination? Heh. Yeah. Pitchfork of Domination would be worth it if it was ranged Quote
Endgame Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) And it is 5 times the price of it! I wouldn't be surprised if we had weapons far better then the Pitchfork of Domination by the time Master Classes roll around - and with the Medal, they are going to come fast and furious. Congrats to K-nut for becoming the first Expert Class! Edited April 20, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Flare Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Congrats to K-nut for becoming the first Expert Class! Yeah, congrats K-nut. I was thinking about doing it and becoming a Beast Warrior, but I decided that it wasn't the right time RP-wise, and I think that the GP would have been wasted on Level Up Mushrooms when I just got the medal of glory.
