Dannylonglegs Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm just teasing ya, Sandy, take your time! Vipera and Ella and XX and Zane will all play major roles in later quests, and therefore are not likely to appear in this next bout of quests. What about other people's NPCs! If you're considering adding other people's NPCs, I wouldn't mind at-all seeing Dice and Yoro, the travelling Merchants, feature in other peoples' Quests. They've basically played their part in this Quest, and have likely fled town by now (or, technically, they're probably picking their stuff up from whatever Inn they were lodging in.) The Po Brothers are for hire too! They may just take up residence in Eubric after fleeing Brendenton. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Palathadric Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 So basically most of Guts' fortune, (as well as his shoes) was materialized by Guffington's mind? That explains why he is so rich! Suddenly Monk Pretzel really, really wants to go on a Guffington Quest! I do believe he signed up for the first one though. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 ... Looks like I need to beef up my enemies again. Quote
Palathadric Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 It's easy just notch up their levels and HP like 10 times, throw on a Docken-amount of SP, and then of course, 3 or so passive specials. I love your battle/cooking, WBD! Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Looks like I need to beef up my enemies again. Doing some quick calculations, and if I understand the demonic scissors correctly, it would seem the current party on your quest has a total party damage of about 146.67 + 3.89 * number of enemies damage per round against humanoids. Mostly thanks to Sarge and his 4 hits per round. Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Karie's stomach churned. A rat or two was fine, but the amount of eats in the crate was unsettling. Yes, that is indeed an unsettling amount of eats... Does Karie have the munchies? Is she feeling alright? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 25, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) I would love to know how you arrived at those numbers. I took the damage results for each die roll and divided that result by 6, then sum up the numbers and you get the average damage per round. I doubled the damage for hastened, double strike, and elemental modifiers. Sum up all of the results and you arrive with the party's damage per round. The 3.89 * number of enemies is from magic burst. It would deal 20 damage to each enemy with a 1/6 chance of double damage since Thalion has 6 gems at his disposal. ((20 * (5/6) + 40 * (1/6)) / 6 = 3.89 Writing this post I checked over my numbers and it appears I miscalculated Alex's Shield, bringing it up 152.67 + 3.89 * number of enemies. I love math Edited April 25, 2013 by joeshmoe554 Quote

Masked Builder Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Sorry guys, no updates today. I'm in the middle of tech-week. I have tomorrow off though! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Stupid auto correct... Well, In Karie's defense, all you've had to eat today was whatever you picked up on the ship in the morning. Drake had a couple ales. Dreyrugr might have eaten... You guys must be starving. I don't blame you for contemplating a little ratatouille. (Best not to, though. They're not the healthiest bunch.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 25, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Yes, didn't you pay attention to the plot of the first one. The Po Brothers are for hire too! They may just take up residence in Eubric after fleeing Brendenton. I plan to read your whole quest once it is finished (the plot confuses me slightly, but I feel certain if I read it after it has concluded I will understand). I have been skimming, however, and paid careful attention to the Po Brothers because I liked them so damn much. If I have the parts by then, they may very well appear! Quote

I'm glad you liked them! They're favorites of mine too... which is why I simply couldn't let them die. As far as pieces go, they're basically 2 Razcals with a cloak for one and any dagger for the other! (and, yes, I realize that the plot has confused many at this point. And here I was thinking it was too simple. ) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited April 25, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

I love math Interesting. I'm not sure how accurate that would be, especially with the first part (would summing up the damage for each roll and dividing by 6 really give the average damage? I feel like there's permutations and special rolls to account for), but you would probably have a better idea than I would. Quote
Zepher Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Is there a notable alchemist character I could build? I don't have the parts for anyone from 63 (and we don't know their fates yet...) or for Cula, U'lalah, or Victoria. Can anyone (Sandy) think of any other notable members of that house I might be able to take a shot at? Also, Guffington 2 is well into planning. It looks to offer Hinckwell Rep, Invision Rep, and Shadeux Rep. It will also feature returns of a few notable characters, though none of them are mine (other than the ones that are already in the Guffington charter repertoire). I am purposefully keeping characters from the Wren Quests free of my next two quests, so that the stories can grow on their own. That being said, 38 will be referenced quite a bit as well. JimBee, speaking of references, get my PM? Edited April 25, 2013 by Zepher Quote

A beginner rogue (level 1 with WP3) has an average damage per round of 3.5. When you introduce some of the buffs like lucky it can change things a bit and when you have enemies with different types, or advanced classes that have abilities that aren't strictly damage it can change things even more, (assassination, summon, favored targets, etc.) It definitely isn't a perfect system, but it can help to get a framework to start from. It can also help identify very specific issues where an enemy has too much SP for the party, or far too little health. "I guess, most of this stuff we should just sell and split the gold." With that list of items, Hybros could probably open his own stall in the marketplace. Edited April 25, 2013 by joeshmoe554 Quote

Zepher Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Mynatt from quest 11? I wish I had the parts, that would be awesome! You have SO MANY NPCs I want to feature, and yet somehow our parts aren't even remotely the same. Punii? ~Insectoid Aristocrat I don't think he's associated with the Guild. Maybe I'll see if he can cameo in some other quest - there will WITHOUT A DOUBT be a cameo of a Progg in at least one of my quests, because I really like them. I've already asked Endgame about it, though I haven't tacked down the exact idea yet, and so we don't have anything super specific planned right now. Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 How about some heroes who aren't active anymore, like D'Aficio or Henry or Bob? Turn 'em in NPCs! :D Quote

Proggs are absolutely bloody massive, about quadruple the size of a minifig. Good luck hiding him in a background. Punii isn't just going to be a letterprogg around Luosh forever, though. Quote
