I'll look forward to Guffy 2 then. Hopefully Guts can make it back in time for that as well, and if Docken sticks around... well I don't expect it to be the same party, but that was a great party back then. And now we're all minmaxed.

I'm hoping to have you all back, if possible. Docken has some enemies in the Russel Quest specifically designed for him (the Russel Quest will be a bit more battle oriented, Guffington is very puzzle-esque this time around), but I'd respect if he wanted to continue the story. The original Quest pitch for Guffington said no Assassins (because we don't have enough quests that say that sort of shit anymore) but I felt bad because I wanted you included, so I took it out.

Yasmar is awesome and looks awesome.

Rogues have always been broken. As quests go on, they will get progressively more broken. It's just part of the game. :shrug_confused: Everyone will be making a rogue secondary character if they care at all about stats. The nice thing for rogues to do, as some DO do this, is to buy consumables for their party mates as well (clerics heal as support, knights soak up hits - they build to help their parties, so it would be beneficial and kind for rogues to help their party mates out financially). Phoenix Essences in particular, I think, should be bought by rogues and then passed on to Barbarians/Knights/those likely to survive the battle. But that's just my opinion.

Uh oh. I'd better go on Guffington 2, then. I'll probably sign up for both and let you decide.

Considering the many different takes possible on every class, I really don't like the idea of locking a class out of a quest. :shrug_confused:

A rogue can be a swindling thief, a noble vigilante, or someone who refuses to steal from the kindhearted - a knight can be a nice man, a holier-than-thou jerk, or perhaps a coward using their defense to cover their butt. A ranger can be a friend of animals or a poahcer of them, a cleric can be a priest or a pretzel. A barbarian could be a brute or a gentlemen, a mage responsible or destructive. With so many intrepeations of every class ever, i can't say I like barring certain classes from certain quests. :sceptic:

It was a technique used early in the game, and I actually kind of liked it. It wasn't so much to be mean to heroes, but to (a) force new parties and (b) help balance. It shouldn't be EVERY quest, but it should certainly be some quests.

I'd also like to see more of "apply as party" quests. Again, not every quest, just once in every ten, perhaps. I did it for the first Guffington, and it encouraged Hall roleplay and made for a great party. I may use it for Guffy 2... maybe, though this time it makes less sense story-wise.

BD, I'm going to let YOU decide. You seem to like challenging strategizing, so I thought you might enjoy the Russel quest, but I don't know if Docken feels a connection with Guffington. I said I'd like a chance to break the Docken, and I stick by that, and that's what Russel is for, but of course you need not decide now. See when the quests go up, but know the choice is 100% in your hands... and if you want to, you WILL be on ONE of them.

EDIT: Jebs, since I see you lurking, it IS my goal to get you to come on one of my quests as well. I wouldn't be adverse to hosting Sorrow either, and I think I've spoken about my love for Pretzel before. Wren Questers, I think I'm going to try to let you out on your own adventures for a brief time, but by the time the third Russel and Guffy roll around, I'd love to see you back again!

If the remedy works pretzel should go ahead of De'kra, so that he can't trigger the special.

Edit: that probably won't work in hindsight without foreknowledge.

I don't think there's anything preventing people from signing up as parties, just doesn't happen often anymore, save for the Fields.

I made it a requirement for Guffington.

I know, I'm just saying you don't have to require it to have heroes to do it. Although it does make an interesting change for it to be a requirement.

I'm intrigued to see the postings, since I'll probably be back in the Hall by then, and you can't go wrong with another Zepher Quest.

I'll probably just pick the one with the best reward, then.

I don't think Docken really feels any connection or lack of a connection to any NPC that would help him decide. His in-universe goal is to min-max just as my goal as a player is, so he (I) is not going to pick an NPC to work for without considering the reward just because he likes the NPC.

That being said, I've never seen a story arc of quests through to its finish as a player, and that's something I want to do more of, both with Guffington and with Bluto.

I spent 200 gold buffing the group tank and more on remedies to use on them and an Artifact intended to keep the boss from fleeing. Does that count?

...shoot, I knew I'd forgotten something... :look:

The answer to finding the lying rat is simple, as first described by one of the greatest rogues of all time.

Shoot one of the rats in the foot with an arrow. Then ask one of the rats who you shot. If they identify the rat you shot as the victim, that rat is the honest one, and the other one is a liar. If they lie, you can trust the other rat. Of course that relies on them being forced to lie, but still.

That'd work... But they only get one question! But still... Problem Solved!

Well finding out who is the honest rat and who is the liar only requires asking one rat a question. After you find out, from there you can use the other question to ask the rat you haven't asked which way to go. Since you know it is either truthful or lying, you can figure out which way to go.

Well if you say you like riddles and you don't know the guardian one then you do need to get back under the rock you came out of, although I must say that answer has made me laugh more than any other I have read and could work to an extent. Not sure if DLL would like that type of creative behaviour.

The other would run off, taking no more questions.

Well I guess they could just point to a rat and ask that rodent if they are pointing at themselves are pointing at, that way they won't scare the other off. Then they can figure out the answer without scaring off the rats. But it really isn't in the spirit of the original solution.

If you are saying they only get one question period no matter what though, then they are pretty doomed.

(for those of you that are wondering, the solution was first used by Haley of the webcomic Order of the Stick. Check it out sometime)

Oh, I forgot that Haley said that. I love Order of the Stick.

Oh, and, for those who have no idea what's going on in my quest... The summary is up. Flipz saw it first, and he could only say...

You make it sound like you never realised all of that in the first place.

I challenge anyone to look at that plot summary and not have a similar reaction.
