JimBee Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Boomingham scampers next towards Umbra. "My dearest, I hope there are no hard feelings over our match in the warehouse. I respected you greatly then, and do so now. It is a great honor to meet you once more, I was hoping we might get the chance. I'm sure you found, upon further inspection, that we didn't actually take anything that belonged to your family. I personally didn't allow it, though that Imp I was with tried to. Bastard. Quote
CMP Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Bastard. He's probably still bitter that Hybros got the rapier.... Quote
Endgame Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Also, with 48 as good as done, if anyone needs help with indexing or whatnot, I'm available. Probably going to brainstorm Stealer 2 for a few weeks, then hop back into QMing then. Until thehn, I'm free to lend a hand to those that need it. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Beatrice states playfully: "Hm! Sounds like proggkind will fit in just fine there, then." And then they engage in a squicky make-out session. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
JimBee Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 He's probably still bitter that Hybros got the rapier.... I never ended up using that weapon, not even once. But Boomers still has that shield, if I'm not mistaken. Quote

Until thehn, I'm free to lend a hand to those that need it. My soul is prepared. If anything needs indexed, I'd say it's the character index. I'd be more than happy to write summaries for all the important NPCs from quest #61. Edited May 2, 2013 by Kintobor Quote

Zepher Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Bastard. He actually has extremely fond memories of Hybros that quest. That's why he accused him. Boomingham shares my love of putting the people he/I love in tricky/awkward situations. I never ended up using that weapon, not even once. But Boomers still has that shield, if I'm not mistaken. Sold it recently, sadly. Quote
Tanma Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) I wrote another story in culture and multimedia. And in advance, I would like to inform you I let some of my...urges...out there. So yeah, see me cut loose. Edit: I might be a tad dramatic, my sense of reality and logic differs from some people. Edited May 2, 2013 by Tanma Quote

Flipz Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 "Good day, Master Ranger; I do not believe we have met before. "The Gentleman's Hat is of little use to me, for the same reason that I am selling the White Marksman's Hat: I already have a very powerful hat. But 50 Gold, that is acceptable to me." I hand Em the White Marksman's Hat in exchange for 50 Gold. Now see, if a Rogue had wanted that hat, the price would have been 200. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I never ended up using that weapon, not even once. But Boomers still has that shield, if I'm not mistaken. Out of curiosity, I went back and compared the stats of the heroes who completed the first three quests, and compared them to the current profiles in the Statistics topic to see who's gotten rid of their original loot, who's upgraded it, and who's just hung on to it. (I didn't take the Test Quester's stats from the Hall into account, though. I believe Foog is the only Test Quester still active who did not go on one of the first three quests.) Quest 1: Harvest Time Bartholomew Docken (Brickdoctor) - Dread Hat (Now also Immunity to SP Reduction, Confusion, Blindess, Badly Poisoned, and Fragile.) Sir Christopher Daggerfall (Fred Fred Burger) - Great Sword? (Not sure if same weapon as the original Shining Great Sword. WP: 8 instead of WP: 3.) Jess Islanti (cralegoboy/Sisco) - none Tesni Hightribe (Peppermind_M) - Cryfder (Now WP: 6 instead of WP: 3) Thrain Longbeard (Lego Pinocchio) - no profile in Statistics Tomas (Tamamono) - Gold Staff (Now WP: 4 instead of WP: 3) Quest 2: Looking Through the Wares Alexis Fenral (Masked Builder) - none Atramor Gibbin (CallMePie) - none Eric (Khorne) - Godricsleif (now WP: 19, Ice- and Darkness-elemental instead of WP: 3) Hybros (JimButcher) - none Lord Lawrence Boomingham (Zepher) - none Rufindel Galadhras (Rufus) - none Quest 3: The Missing Matriarch Althior Emorith (K-nut) - Dragoro (Now WP: 8 instead of WP: 3) Cronk (Cornelius Murdock) - none, I think. Couple items renamed to be Ennoc-themed. Signor Bacari (Capt.JohnPaul) - no profile in Statistics; character restarted Namyrra Uq (Quarryman) - none, I think? Is the Nocturne Flute a renamed Lullaby Wand? Nyx (Pandora) - Sandmand's Parasol Slyph Solanum (Dannylonglegs) - none Quote
Sandy Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 NPCs and Boomingham never get along. Don't take it personally, Umbra is in a foul mood for reasons that will come apparent soon. ", for the night is dark and full of terrors!" (too lazy to quote) Game Of Thrones much I just watched the latest episode of GoT yesterday, and it was goooood. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Now see, if a Rogue had wanted that hat, the price would have been 200. 50 Gold was actually right about the amount I thought I could get for it. If a Rogue had offered 50 Gold, I would've taken it. Quote
Quarryman Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Namyrra Uq (Quarryman) - none, I think? Is the Nocturne Flute a renamed Lullaby Wand? No, I sold the Lullaby Wand to Siercon, and then got the Nocturne Flute on quest #50. Quote
Zepher Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 ...it's because people dropped less good loot back then. And Sandy, I know why those folks are all in a bad mood, I read the other quests. Quote
Flipz Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Don't take it personally, Umbra is in a foul mood for reasons that will come apparent soon. Because Belanotte and Nuitan's plan is coming to fruition? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 ...it's because people dropped less good loot back then. Yeah, it actually looks like all the players on the first three quests who still have one of their weapons only have the original weapon that they started with - upgraded, of course - not one of the weapons they were dropped in those first three quests. Quote
Zepher Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Most weapons had no effect back then, nor did they have an elemental upgrade - they were just a slightly higher WP, which was cool and understandable. Quote

Yeah, I know that when I did Quest 4, I dropped a bunch of plain WP: 4 and WP: 5 weapons, with one or two gems by themselves. The artifacts were the special items I decided to drop/sell, with the cloaks, helmets, robes, and such. Quote

(I didn't take the Test Quester's stats from the Hall into account, though. I believe Foog is the only Test Quester still active who did not go on one of the first three quests.) All of the weapons looted during the Test Quest have ended up with now inactive players. I still have a dagger purchased from Sham Poo during that quest, and I believe that Nyx still has the amethyst she found back then. Quote

I remember one of the rewards was a weapon with a WP one greater than your current weapon. It worked out great that I had just made that trade with Tesni for the WP 4 Direwolf tooth, I remember being so excited to have a WP 5 weapon on my first quest. Oh how young we were. And for those of you wondering, I repurposed the Fang Dagger into Kapura. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) Because Belanotte and Nuitan's plan is coming to fruition? Do you really need to ask? Just keep those three alive so that they can get their own Romeo and Julius Quest later. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 2, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Sandy still seems to follow that rule, just with somewhat more interesting weapons. Actually, I think that's how Conspirator ended up with the WP it had at first--it was one higher than Lifestealer.
