Flipz Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 What he said. Actually, no, it takes a turn to switch Artifacts no matter what. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Actually, no, it takes a turn to switch Artifacts no matter what. Really? Whoops! Thanks. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
-obelix- Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Yes but Amorith has no artifact for handwear on. No switching required. Zepher and Flipz are right. In this case, it would be equipping an artifact, and it costs a turn too (one turn for receiving and one for equipping). Quote
Flipz Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) Also, don't forget that Amorith has a limit of two Artifacts equipped at any time, regardless of which body parts they're on. Edited May 8, 2013 by Flipz Quote

Brickdoctor Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Slooooooow day in Heroica today... Since the game began in 2011, there have been 78,908 replies in the Heroica subforum. For comparison, the current leader in replies on EB is the Star Wars forum, which has had 172,254 replies... dating back to 2004. Heroica has vaulted the Mafia and RPG forum into second place on the board in terms of replies, ahead of Historic, ahead of Town, ahead of Pirates. So, yeah, this forum is due for a few slow days. PsyKater Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Would it also take a turn to equip an artifact when there is a free slot? Quote
Sandy Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Would it also take a turn to equip an artifact when there is a free slot? Yes. Equipping artefacts in the middle of a battle always takes one turn, no matter if you're just putting them on or switching them with another artefact. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Are you planning to switch to Sorcerer, Pie, or...? Quote
CMP Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) Nope. I call it Plan W - Special Mirror the absolute crap out of everything until I can go Regulator. On a related note, if anyone's interested in purchasing it, I don't have much use for the Heavy Flail anymore. Edited May 9, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
CMP Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I want it. Unfortunately, I don't think you could use it. It sucks Atramor's on such poor terms with Thothwick, because it would be absolutely destructive in the hands of the Black Knight. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Huh, I wasn't aware there was a distinction between maces and hammers, you're right. Extra embarassing, as I created the item. I could use it if/when I go alchemist though, although then I only have a 1/3 chance to do something useful with it. That makes the item actually far less OP than I thought. Quote

That makes the item actually far less OP than I thought. Good point. Maybe we could work out a deal in the Hall. I have the same odds, it's not as bad as it sounds. In any case, you're really just setting up a purely offensive hero to deal an even more devastating strike. Considering Guts is almost always Hastened and Encouraged, a hit with the Heavy Flail and a follow-up with Lifestealer could be particularly vicious. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Nah, I'm not going to use it for at least four levels, which is probably like 2-4 quests away, so I think it's in better hands with someone that can use it now. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Nope. I call it Plan W - Special Mirror the absolute crap out of everything until I can go Regulator. Oh, okay, that makes sense. I'm just thinking about the party we can put together for Guffington 2; having a tank isn't much use if you've got the Aura. Could still work, though, if you're going to switch to a different weapon after Special Mirror - get the Special Mirror into effect, allow the negative effects on Atramor to wear off quickly, then switch to the Flail to set up enemies for Guts to take down. Hybros Assassinates stuff, Docken tanks while Atramor recovers and heals if necessary. Repeat if necessary. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 What do people think? Use the Mithril now, get Lifestealer to level 40, or wait one more quest, and then use it? Also, is it just me, or have there been no Shadeaux Quests for a long time? Quote
CMP Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 With Docken in the party, I could just tank whenever it's really necessary, or your Aura is in effect. Between the Darksteel Crossbow, Conspirator, and two pretty much permanently Lucky heroes, I doubt we'd be taking much damage anyway. What do people think? Use the Mithril now, get Lifestealer to level 40, or wait one more quest, and then use it? Go for 50!! Quote

Scubacarrot Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Go for 50!! To get it to 40 and then using the mithril would cost 4240 gold... That reminds me. I'm buying everyone's Grinding stone or whetting stone's or whatever they are called for a price that's better than you could save using it. Quote

Oh, that's right, with the Pheles Rod, you can save me from the evil QM when my Aura is up! And JimB has the Eye-poking Sai, too, so we can Blind everything. Go for 50!! I agree, wait a quest, go for 50. Quote
