Another thing I'd do if I were writing this as a novel, and not as a RPG - Arthur would have just been killed. As soon as he sent those letters off.

If this were a novel instead of an RPG, Arthur would have died three times over already. I seriously thought about killing him off in the last battle of 53, though--finally decided that between the irreplaceable stats, the irreplaceable backstory connection, and the fact that if he were to die in that fight, he should have died when he took the hit from Wren, not at the end from Atramor's dummy move.

I knew it. You get some sort of sick satisfaction seeing important and friendly NPCs die, don't you?

All I'm going to say is: he's earned a place in the next Theatre post.

On the subject of the houses, though, I kind of wish the other parties got to meet some. Maybe the Shadeaux went to the backdoor because they wanted to keep out of the light, or the Hinckwells go check to see how the food is coming along/deliver compliments to the chef?

I'm disappointed I don't get to meet the moon elf guy, or the Zeigfrieds, or Nuitan and Lyren. But there'll be other opportunities. (Well, probably not for Lyren and Nuitan, especially now that the kitchen party is toast. )

Okay, well, on second thought, Sandy's probably not going to have half the Ball's guests jump into action as level 50s like Nemo and Hestia. There'd be no point to Nyx, Boomingham, and Thothwick being there at all.

Well, if my Magic Compass is any indicator, the whole flippin' Wolfgang army is amassing to the east of the Theatre, and if all the party guests are Badly Poisoned and Weakened...

Also, can we have an in game reason for why Z-Mail should not work? Oh wait, I have a great idea. Valentine Ziegfried shows up to the party with a teleport spell. Boom, crossbow bolt to the face. That's two birds one stone!

Hey, I thought long and hard about using Z-mail. Finally decided it was a justified use, and if anyone's got the backstory justification for actual use, it's Arthur.

Although I've worked on 3? 4? RP sessions with Flipz, I gotta agree with this. Marks down the final period and is suddenly just fatally impaled by Violetta - would really kick the threat of the Wolfgang up a notch.

...But this is an RPG, where people pour hours into their character and would prefer to not have them murdered. I'm actually consdering doing what Kadabra did for Arasmyth.

Oh wait, I have a great idea. Valentine Ziegfried shows up to the party with a teleport spell in response to Arthur's fatal (near-fatal?) shooting, screaming out threats at the top of her lungs for harming her son. Boom, crossbow bolt to the face. That's two birds one stone!

Now see, that's an interesting way to go about it.

Every good hero-character in any rpg ever has some murdered family.

My character's father is technically alive, but he's on the plane of death, so really, same difference. Not to mention he's accused of the murder of another father-esque figure...

It's the freaking rich-text editor. Switch to plain text and you'll see DOZENS of unnecessary BBCode tags. Things like coloring text black when text is already black by default, or putting in Helvetica font when it's already the default font. And the tags get closed and immediately re-opened in the middle of every other line, it seems. It's a nightmare to sort out, but saves a TON of time and effort in the long run once they're cleared away, and the posts seem to load faster, too.

Keep the editor in plain-text, and use the Quote function on party stats rather than copy-paste. It's not TOO hard to learn the coding for the text effects you want, it just takes some time.

I think Guts would do well. I think a lot of characters could become veterans, but in a later stage and after longer things. I think many people would be considered too young, inexperienced or volatile, but that could all be changed later, of course. I could see people like Nyx, Skrall, Tesni perhaps even Atramor become veterans at one point. As for characters as they are now... I still nominate Guts.

I've always assumed Docken's backstory is just a stew of all the various cliche's for becoming a "hero". Murdered family is a big one in that. Either that or he has seen something so horrible that it has rendered him without memory or deep emotion. Again, murdered family.

There has to be Mother Docken and Father Docken, at least. I doubt they have any other names besides those, though.

Where Ellaria comes from has only been hinted at, although I don't know how big of a surprise it will be once it is eventually revealed.
