Endgame Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Plot tiwst: Docken was carved out of rock. Sorrow/Vitus never knew his biological parents for more then a couple of months (and in fact is starting to have trouble rembering his real name) and the fate of his necrofather is... dubious. Quote
Sandy Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Let me guess, her family was murdered? No, they're actually very much alive. Including Elpis, of course. Quote

Tanma Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 They say before the universe there was nothing. That is wrong. There was a great Docken. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I've always assumed Docken's backstory is just a stew of all the various cliche's for becoming a "hero". Murdered family is a big one in that. Either that or he has seen something so horrible that it has rendered him without memory or deep emotion. Again, murdered family. Plot tiwst: Docken was carved out of rock. Not bad assumptions. His backstory is currently nonexistent, so you're free to interpret it however you want. There has to be Mother Docken and Father Docken, at least. I doubt they have any other names besides those, though. Hmm, father Baldwin Docken, mother Branwen Docken, grandfather Barnard Docken, grandmother Bertha Docken, great-grandfather Benedict Docken, great-grandmother Beatrice Docken, uncle Bryan Docken, aunt Barbara Docken, cousin Barnaby Docken... Especially about his usefulness. Quote
Scorpiox Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Yeah. I kept posting, and every single BBCode tag kept rising up to the surface. It was the most annoying thing ever to clear them out again and again. Am I the only one who doesn't have these problems? Plot tiwst: Docken was carved out of rock. That explains a lot about his durability, and unhelpfulness. Especially about his usefulness. Sorry, couldn't resist. Snaked again. Edited May 11, 2013 by Scorpiox Quote
Pandora Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Fine. They can have the Ziegfrieds. Ok, late to respond, but I really don't think Nyx would allow the Ziegfrieds to die. Not when she wants an undead following. Quote

Nyx is going to have to choose, a life of glitter and glamour as a stage performer, or the Ziegfrieds. Isn´t Edgar enough of a following? Tanma, are you thinking of going Dragoon? As De´kra is now the only one with access to it when he hits level 30, I think. Edited May 11, 2013 by Scubacarrot Quote

I'm pretty sure she'll choose whatever allows her to hit people a lot and set fire to stuff... ... so it could go either way. Isn´t Edgar enough of a following? I miss Edgar Quote

JimBee Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Please just kill the ones we don't care about! (the representatives of the three other cities, Guffington's assistant, the artists, the servers, the Heroes). Don't kill the important ones. Live important people, live! I'm actually really interested to see how the Moon Elves develop. @Unlimited Quest: I take it Alexis won't be changing her action? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Of course! I already wrote so in the Heroica Hall, I guess you missed it... Oh, okay, I only saw that she was looking around for Guts to give it to, I guess I figured things´d need to be more literal for Guts to have it back. Quote
Tanma Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Huh, I didn't know I was the only one. But currently my plans are to go Winged Warrior, then Chi Monk. Although I am not sure if De'kra would choose Chi Monk now when he could fly. But if go Monk I would probably alternate between the two of them as need be. Edited May 11, 2013 by Tanma Quote

Yeah, With 59 included there are actually only three quests that have given Shadeaux Reputation (4 and 43 are the others). I don´t know how many quests had the chance to get it, but yeah. I´m very interested in Heroes that actually go Dragoon. You can do some really cool things with that. Quote

Zepher Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) I knew it. You get some sort of sick satisfaction seeing important and friendly NPCs die, don't you? Only sort of. I have a sick satisfaction to see the story continued in an exciting manner. Breaking the power balance would twist the game in a hugely new direction. Oh? The present Bonapartes are a warden and a prophet, which have used improvised weapons before. I assume the Ji Pei lady is skilled in battle, or at least has some useful gadgets, and her companion is a bodyguard skilled in unarmed combat. Add to that Umbra's skills. Most of the houses can defend themselves. In a showdown... I think the Hinckwells might be the only one with no obvious combatants. If this were a novel instead of an RPG, Arthur would have died three times over already. I seriously thought about killing him off in the last battle of 53, though--finally decided that between the irreplaceable stats, the irreplaceable backstory connection, and the fact that if he were to die in that fight, he should have died when he took the hit from Wren, not at the end from Atramor's dummy move. 53 would have been his real death. This was more anyone who followed the cat. I do have a love for realistic, well placed deaths. Watch the Departed some time. The deaths in that movie are great and so sudden. Yeeees... Then Nemo can stop being a crybaby and become a stone cold killer, and we have an open spot for a veteran. #Gutsforveteran I hope this doesn't interfere with your campaign for King. Just so you know, that conversation you, Nerwen and Boomers had over Kings, powers and the Gods has been playing through Boomingham's head all dinner . It's an important informative talk, and certainly has an effect on how he assesses the houses now. Anyone ever honestly wonder which of our heroes could one day become Veterans? Not as in the classes, but in rank? We've actually had this discussion before. That would be an interesting story to tell, actually: how the current veterans became veterans, and what they did before hand... and particularly how they interact. They must have very complex relationships if our heroes are anything to judge hero friendship by. Also, class doesn't matter, they're all different classes. Ok, late to respond, but I really don't think Nyx would allow the Ziegfrieds to die. Not when she wants an undead following. It's interesting that we'll probably have the same class at some point. It could be some more interesting role play. There was probably another in Quest 2 if we decided not to mug the second-in-command of the head of the house....Shadeuax have the worst luck. I lobbied for friendship then!! Reread it, I didn't want to attack Umbra, and I think she offered reputation! Also interested to see what people think of Ella in the end of 59. Thanks for including her, JimBee! Edited May 11, 2013 by Zepher Quote
