Dannylonglegs Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) Alchemist Guts is in some ways slightly better, since he can use them AND attack in a turn, and he can spread them to us in between battles anyway. I do think we want a Druid, though. ....Did someone request a Druid?.... Wow! Is Sylph the best tank ever, or whatever. Brickdoctor, you'll have a hard time beating somebody with more than double your HP in SP and able to heal himself as well. Sorry, but the days of Docken the tank are over. Yes, I minmaxed him while no one was looking.... With the Hide of the Mythrogg, Sylph will be unstopable. All shall tremble before his might and die at his will. No one can stop him now that he has acquired such awesome power! He shall cure this world of its imperfections one soul at a time! Bwahahahaha! Bwahahahaha! #drunkwithpower ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 13, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Palathadric Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 (edited) It's because of this that he'll have to die at some point, likely a heroic sacrifice or going out with a bang. A suicide mission or betrayal would work nicely also. Thoughts? Or, you know, you could just make it easy and have him killed by Atramor the next time they encounter chaos beasts. Hmm, maybe Haldor and Atramor could die together. That'd be pretty exciting. Two brave blokes staying behind to hold off the horde, and allowing everyone else to go and save the day. Or, as I said, previously, Atramor kills off Haldor and then dies of free hits...or whatever. (Actually, why hasn't THAT shown up as a storyline? "Friends with benefits who eventually fall in love" is like one of the top 10 most common rom-com plots ever, how the hell have we been running so long without even touching on it?? ) Maybe because of that. Just so everyone remembers, I'll say it again: My next quest will offer a chance at Shadeaux reputation if the heroes can find it, and there will be no opportunity for Lion Knight reputation/access to the Skirmisher. Great! Any idea when you will be rolling this quest? Edited May 13, 2013 by Palathadric Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Great! Any idea when you will be rolling this quest? Summer, maybe. I have to finish the set I'm building for Flipz first. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Cronk doesn't drink Meads, although he has given us a roleplaying reason. I don't think Pretzel has ever drunk a mead and he probably won't because he is who he is. He sniffed smelling salts once, but he probably won't do that again. If I recall he fainted last time. Have to re-read #36. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Why wait to sign up? That's just the kind of innuendo I need on Quest 69. I don't understand. What do you mean by this? Honestly, it sounds like #69 will be some kind of whodunnit which would require a lot of thinking. Right now I want to take a break from thinking. I also want to see how busy I'll be before signing up for a quest. Don't want to commit to something I can't actually deliver on. How long will the quest be? Quote
CMP Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 It's not much of a mystery Quest...it's more trying to track down the killer than determine who did it. As for length....probably around a month, two at the very most. It's mostly dependent on player activity. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Cool. I'd gladly go on one of your quests. I may be the knight you need, although I need to think about whether Pretzel will actually go paladin or not...and now I need to think of a reason for him to sign-up after he didn't earlier. By the way, are there any sales going on in the Hall that I should know about, before I start making plans for a spending spree at the Marketplace? Quote
CMP Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I'm up for trading the Heavy Flail, if you're still interested in it. Other than that, I think Doc's always got something he's trying to get rid of. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I've got a few Venoms and a Lover's Locket for sale, and I think Peppermint's got some weapons still for sale. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Keep that locket, I'll probably grab it off you when I get to the hall, Brickdoctor. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Other than that, I think Doc's always got something he's trying to get rid of. Oh, by the way, if you want Potions or some of the Bombs (not the Smoke ones), I wouldn't mind selling those either. My HP is high enough that it's usually not worth using a Potion instead of a Grand Potion or a Health Core, so I'll sell the regular ones at, say 4 Gold, or 10 Gold total if you buy all three Potions. Keep that locket, I'll probably grab it off you when I get to the hall, Brickdoctor. Sure. (Unless Palathadric wants it; then you'll need to outbid him. ) Quote
Palathadric Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 It feels great when a rogue tries to outbid you, but you have more gold than the rogue does. But it's not like Monk Pretzel has a problem with being enamored, although I think Flipz may tell you otherwise. I'll pass on it. I'm up for trading the Heavy Flail, if you're still interested in it. Other than that, I think Doc's always got something he's trying to get rid of. That's the problem. I kind of want to make a plan for Pretzel before I purchase something more costly like that. If I'm going Sage, for instance, than the flail is useless. I also want to see if anyone is selling any items with better SP than the ones I have that are suitable for clerics in case I need to dish out a larger sum of money. Quote
CMP Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I'll sell you a Robe of the Archmagi for 250 gold, 50 less than Portia's price, if you like. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Can I sign up for a quest in the Hall, even if I'm in the Arena? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Can I sign up for a quest in the Hall, even if I'm in the Arena? Same? This battle is taking forever. Why won't you die already Capt.? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Any ideas about selling the Robe of the Archmagi, CMP? How did I miss your post. Trying to think if the extra one SP is worth the cost. I don't really care about the ether. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Any ideas about selling the Robe of the Archmagi, CMP? I believe they're just 300$ at the market. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Zepher Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 But she could never really become a god, could she? She thought she could, but the Gods have no presence on Olegeia. Even the Ennoc's shard thing from quest 38 is, considering that knowledge, just a magic artifact, mistaken as work of the actual Gods. That's how I see it anyway. In a world of magic, It's fairly logical things get assumed to be the work of Gods. That's your interpretation of Gods. Sandy has specifically never clarified how they work. Different people believe in them in different degrees. It's a little narrow minded to claim that there are no gods. Hm. She expected it. It obviously didn´t work out, so I guess we´ll never now if that expectation was warranted, although I would say no. Zepher, what would have happened had Quest 53 failed? Azazot is also interesting in that he differs from the other gods. He clearly DOES have an effect on the physical world. He is a powerful other dimension demon if not a God. Wren would have died either way. More hero deaths! Probably a few more NPC deaths. The void would have opened, but in a more dangerous way. I would have (with WBD's consent) had Skrall tackle her into it as he had opted for perma death. Felton would have more hastily explained to the heroes, and then also have been swallowed. I snuck in the Mythrogg's armor when nobody waslooking. It's SP: 120. Quote
Zepher Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) Adding in some beefy enemies for our resident Necromancer! I believe I'm the first person to host an Expert Class, am very excited to see what happens. Looking forward to the quest, everyone. EDIT: Also very much afraid of making a too easy quest. You guys will be challenged, I hope. Edited May 14, 2013 by Zepher Quote

Sage doesn't seem like the right class for Pretzel - I admit that I've never really kept up with what he believes in and what he doesn't, but using magic instead of hitting enemies with his staff doesn't seem like something he'd do. Paladin is the only Advanced Class that almost makes sense for Pretzel; he might do better sticking with Cleric all the way to Prophet. (See, I can make a decision based on roleplaying; it's just not something I do for Docken.) Adding in some beefy enemies for our resident Necromancer! K-Nut Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 This is a pretty awesome party. Agreed. Can't wait to see what happens with Althior and Atramor. Plus it's a Zeph quest, so that should be fun. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 OoC: The quest is being retooled for four players, because I had a hard enough time picking as it was. Go shopping now, you have until the about the 15th! You broke the Guffington 2 party! Quote
