CMP Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Is this a reference to something I missed? Bric'lin is landlocked and has no nearby rivers. No, he just dislikes horses and prefers ships. Quote
Flipz Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Oh, I actually also don't mind Mediq being a permanent separate deal, but that's up to everyone else! It costs a fair amount of ether, but is a sure heal. Let's also not forget that Mediq comes from a pagoda full of powerful spiritual leaders, and, most importantly, already has a name. But for the rest of them... They're genies, so maybe they could be used three times in total, as in the three wishes? Definitely like this one. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Why people like to go and share how unfortunate they are when they haven't nearly got it as bad as some people is still beyond me. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 16, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Flipz Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 *snip* I pre-emptively blame you for my nightmares tonight. Quote

Vash the Stampede Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 -snip- Why does that explain it so well. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Why does that explain it so well. Because that's his major character flaw. (Fleur is much the same, but different in that she doesn't think she's better/worse-off than everyone else. She just hates everyone and wishes they were as miserable as she. She very well might admit someone's worse off, but she'd reply "I don't care.") ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 16, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Endgame Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks. Woah, Grand Duke. Congrats. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I started Quest 48 a Count... and ended it a Grand Duke. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I take a photo for each of them separately, open them in Photoshop, then crop them with the help of the marque tool set on a "fixed ratio" of 100x100 pixels, then resizing, brightening and adding a "stroke" of 1 pixel wide from the "layer style" menu. Takes me fifteen seconds. Indeed, I am similar. Take 1 picture of each figure, select a square selection around them, copy it and paste it into a new 100x100 document. Adjust lighting and curves, etc. there. One NPC shouldn't take more than a minute. Quote

Kintobor Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) For tropes, Karie fits under Full Body Disguise and The Con Man, with a dash of The Loveable Rogue. She also seems to be heading down the Break the Cutie path, what with 56 and 62 leaving rather large marks on her, and she is a rather innocent character. I made her to be a rather comedic character, but now? Thanks Endgame and Danny! Edited May 16, 2013 by Kintobor Quote

Although this particular case tastes a bit like Newt. (and also I like Crapsack worlds with imperfect characters) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 16, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Palathadric Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks. I still like the Mongolian hat better, but it is so hard to get. Yeah, the Mongolian hat has to be one of my favourite hats that LEGO has produced. As I said before, I'm still longing for the day when I will make my golden horde. I have yet to collect my first hat like that though. Oh, and great to see you back Myrddyn. Perhaps Pretzel, Mizuki, and Erik will quest again someday. We are actually all in the Hall at present. JimBee Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 How do QMs take the avatar pictures for NPCs? I only just finished and uploaded the last of mine, and it is an amazingly tedious process. I line them all up on a brick-built rig in front of a piece of paper, eight to a dozen figs in each shot, and then have to go through and snip a perfect square for each of their profiles, sharpen/brighten it, and add an outline. It takes around three minutes for each one, more if there's manual editing work to do, so in total I've spent around two hours on them alone. Is this normal? Is there some trick I'm missing to it? Do I just have too damn many NPCs? Avatarmaker.eu is a great site for free 100x100 cropping and zooming (there's other sizes too). It takes me about one minute because there's usually very little quality loss and I don't need to go back to the editor to touch it up. Quote

Wait, Endgame and I are not the same person! I already dropped the surpise not-quite-boss fight. (In hindsight, I probably should have buffed him to make it seem more dramatic. ) Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Well I agree it was slightly anti climactic with the weak boss but realistically thinking (cause people do that....) the party just went up against a bunch of armed guards, sailors probably trained to fend off pirates, and lots of aquamancers. A pyromaniac with a torch should be no problem unless he learned martial arts or something. Quote
