Kintobor, just a heads up, Guts hasn't got any of those items on him, as he just woke up, he's not even wearing armour, that's why he rushed to grab his weapon. Also, it's unlikely Guts would allow himself to be pickpocketed. (he is 16 levels higher than Karie.) Guts disarming Karie, is likely as she's outclassed and outnumbered.

And I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids and that stupid dog!

Poor Karie - captured, brainwashed, lost looking for a theatre, stuck in Brendenton, became a newt, lost her mask, and now keelhauled by a fellow hero. :snicker:

Brickdoctor, you still got that necklace? I'm more than willing to buy it off you!

No, Monk Pretzel likes necklaces too. He bought it in the meantime.

Nah, I think Docken still has it.

I think Docken will give it to Karie as a gift. You'll just have to flirt with ... the stone wall.

Yep, I've still got it. (I didn't list it for sale in my last update since you'd already said you wanted it.) :classic:

I think all my villains so far (none of them recurring, though, so they don't count as main villains) have been male.

What about Leofwena?

Now that I think of it, isn't she like the only female NPC you have had? Your quests are true sausage fests...

I don't think the standard smiley soldiers have assigned genders, given the Skirmisher picture. Maybe every single footsoldier in the Lion and Brobric armies is female?:laugh:

Oh yeah, I forgot about her.

Um, let me think, there was, uh... there was that unnamed female elf in R'kilf with Lord Keveak.

Oh, and there's the Lion noblewoman in the conclusion of Quest 31. Let me check my notes... Lady Knylay.

What's her relationship to Clibburne? Friend, ally, mistress...?

Also, that fluffy pillow...Doc, you WANT that.

Um, let me think, there was, uh...

Maybe that's something you can work on when you plan your quests?

I did actually think about it when I did Quest 4; when I figbarfed for Quest 4, I made most of the elves male because I thought that Keveak would be just the kind of guy to want his entire army to be made up only of males of his own race, and I made the Lions male because I conceived them as the traditional medieval sort of culture that might also do that. (And in Quest 31, there was the bit about Leofwena only getting to be a knight because of the power her relatives held within the faction.)

That's by the way difficult to notice sometimes...

An example:

You posted more (425 posts) in Quest #62 (a medium quest) than any (other) player on Quest #48 (a large quest). Fugazi posted 384 times in #48.

So it's very similar to Endgame. Plus your connection via #48: One who invents insane battles, one who invents insane battle strategies to master all of the insane battles.

Hmmm... ~';>5."`They're onto us Endgame! They must be Assimilated!-*/9^,`~

No relationship. Clibburne is the one with the glasses and black cane. Lord and Lady Knylay are the ones in roughly the king's and queen's outfits from the Kingdoms Joust.

But I'd have to keep it equipped whenever I might be inflicted with those effects, which means I wouldn't be able to have the Medal of Glory equipped.

I have nothing against you sticking to traditional gender roles - we have plenty of "Xenas" in this game already - but I have a firm believe that even in "the olden times" women had more active role in society than history books tell us. Even the saying goes that there's a woman behind every great man...

Your quests have been pretty much devoid of women, even as background characters. That's the only constructive criticism I have about any of your storylines, so once you fix that, your quests will be absolutely perfect.

Ain't that the truth. :devil::grin:

Other than my Big Bad, my own quest had relatively few female characters, although, that's more to do with limited materials than anything. Ja Ba, Sister Lucile, That One Woman in that Crowd...

BriksandParts, I don't imagine there bring that many balding Raiders who obvious know their way around a weapon. And what's to say Romulus hasn't read the quest logs for 39 and the Bonaparte one?

Posted

Exactly, sort of how people at Hogwarts know who Hermione Granger or Fred and George Weasley are even if they've never met them; their reputation precedes them.

This is the perennial problem with a lot of fantasy, unfortunately. It's the biggest issue a lot of people have with Tolkein actually; the fact that Eówyn is the only real female hero in the series. Jackson tried to fix this a little by giving Arwen Glorfindel's part in Fellowship, but the gripe's still there...

I also agree that it is possible and nearly always better to have a strong female character in a role other than simply the hugely clichéd 'badarse fighting girl' that seems all to prevelant in media. Sometimes I get tired of a female main character that is only really there for love interest, the 'tough lass' who exists solely for male attention.

Patricia is a living, breathing example of how to write a believable and engaging prominant woman without resorting to sexual appeal. Massive kudos to Scubacarrot for creating her.
