"It's good to see you! Nay, you do not owe me anything, except a drink and a tale or two. Have you signed up for any of the quests? Looks like I will be heading out soon on one of them, and I want you to join me. As for Thothwick, yes, we are acquainted," Hoke said as he patted the metasamien on his back. "Glad to hear you know each other. It's good to have good men know good men." Boomingham pauses and glances over at the bar, but it appears conversation is more important to him than another drink. "I've been busy. Sometimes I think back to the quests I've been on and it feels like they were four or five or ten years ago instead of just one or two. Once upon a time I was looking for stolen goods in a Shadeaux warehouse, and now I'm helping them win cities in their favors." Boomingham shrugs. "Have either of you been to R'Klif? I've just returned. Went out there with Ellaria, the dearest of the dears, Nerwen and the traitorous wizard boy. Things went well enough, all things considered. It's good to do good again. Good to get out of Eubric. Seems in this city any damn brat can join the Watch." "And what of you two? Searched any warehouses of late? Where are you off to? And in all honesty, Hoke, while I'd love to go out again, I think I need a drink or two to smarten me back up before I get worn too thin." Quote
Scorpiox Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Haldor leant back in his chair and whistled a tune. Jess had gone to bed hours earlier, but he was staying up to relax by himself. He dragged one of his heavy Gladiator's Helmets out of his bag and planted it on his table with a loud clunk noise, and began speaking to no-body in particular. "Ah. There's too much stuff going on in this hall. Too many silly gits rushing about with their hands waving, need to just sit down and give a bloke some peace an quiet. And this..." He gestures towards his helmet. "I've been carrying around long enough. I need to shift it before my back fixes up for good." For Sale: Gladiator's Helmet (SP: 3), accepting offers. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Having quenched his thirst, Boomingham rises from the bar and makes his way over to the sleeping Thothwick. He gives him a friendly little nudge. "Wakey wakey, sleepy head. I believe you have a few essences that belong to me." "Zzz... Whu? Ah, must've dozed off! Oh, I do hope Mr. Rone didn't leave, I had something I wanted to ask him... And where's Hoptet gotten off to? Essences? Ah - of course, Lord Boomingham, you departed before I could bequeath these to you." Shaking off his slumber, Thothwick placed three cosmic essences on the table, for Boomingham to take. "I believe you know Mr. Thothwick here?" As for Thothwick, yes, we are acquainted," Hoke said as he patted the metasamien on his back. "Ah, Mr. Ablesword, good to see you under nicer circumstances." Flare Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Then, walking past a despondent hero looking a bit peaky, she recognises Benji from the quest to find Shaun. His clothes, demeanour and posture were all different, speaking of a twisty path to his current state. You look like you need to eat something. she fished in her satchel and pulled out the carefully wrapped piece of raw meat. After checking it was still good she said, I was going to find somewhere to cook this, but you might like it better than I. "Well well, it is good to see you friend Nerwen. Elvish friends are becoming rarer by the day, aren't they... heh, anyways, that meat does look very appetizing... lets do a trade: the raw meat for my Grogmas Handcannon ... now thats a deal you cannot refuse ey!" Cryos Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) "The Wolfgang... Are scum. They are kill on sight for the Town Watch for good reason. If you fought alongside one... I don't want to know what it was you were doing, or if that was the same as you thought you were doing. Heh. So this Sixth Coffin and this she. Someone you have your eye on, or...? If there's something you think I can help you with, you should just come out and tell me." "Someone that I had my eye on..." He gave a wistful smile, "I suppose you could say that. She was my fiance." A pained expression overtaking his face. "And in her final moments she breathed something to me; Sixth. Coffin." He sighed, "And that was eight years ago." The recursive flow of his dialect only stressed his anguish. He moved a piece on the opposite side of the board, purposely abstaining himself from victory. "All I ask is that If you ever solve the mystery that is the sixth coffin you tell me, yes?" Edited November 30, 2013 by Cryos Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Guts moved his last piece, winning him the game. "Hm. If I hear anything along those lines, I will. Thanks for the game." The raider got up, and stretched. "And thanks for letting me win, I guess. There were at least half a dozen moments you could have won. Now if you'll excuse me, there's someone I need to see." Guts walked over were Nerwen was talking to Benji Carvenhall, and leaned against the wall, waiting for their business to be over. Edited November 30, 2013 by Scubacarrot Quote

Cryos Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Baradock nodded as his opponent left the table. He finished off the rest of his ale before getting up his self, moving to the quest board. His eyes widen at the expanding list for three quests. An idle mind is Azazot's playground, he thought. Promptly, he etched his name onto two quests; Baradock signs up for Quest #90 and Quest #91. He turns on his heels returning back to his seat. Thrusting his hand into his pouch, emerging with a vial of ectoplasm. He sniffed it and almost immediately lurched back in revulsion. He placed it at the edge of his table, maybe someone will find that drink worth some coin. For Sale Ectoplasm- Permanently increases ether by 2. 200G (negotiable) Edited November 30, 2013 by Cryos Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Nerwen sees Guts subtly insert himself into her line of sight.. A smile plays on the corner of her lips. Speaking to Benji she says,I accept. It is almost Grogmas again is it not? I feel like I have been gone a long time. I hope the meat does you good. Having concluded her buisness with Benji, she steps over to Guts, saying softly How fare you? Quote

Scubacarrot Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 The raider, unsure of the proper greeting, just says: "I'm alright, how about you?" The raider coughs in his hand, looks the other way, then continues: "Right. There is something I wanted to talk to you about for a while... Every time I tried either you or I had leave... I'll get to it. This... ship, that we own. I think we should name it more appropiately. Neither of us are Chiman, so..." Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Oh yes, the ship.During the quest I had forgotten we have that. Is it in good repair? Should we find a captain for it? Nerwen pauses, looking at Guts' serious face, sorry. What do you want to suggest? Edited November 30, 2013 by Chromeknight Quote
Flipz Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Dyric stops in his tracks when he realizes where Arthur had lead him. Had it really almost been a year? Time flies too fast. Noticing Arthur was busy at the moment, Dyric moved to Hans grave, where he knelt respectively. I'm so sorry. None... none of this should have happened. This whole mess was all our fault. Me, Arthur, Atramor... the whole group in a way. Too many lives lost that could have been saved. And... I know it's over. I'm thankful for that everyday. But that doesn't repay anything. That doesn't make it right. I think maybe that more than ever is why I need to go to Baltarok. I wasn't with you guys in Dastan, I didn't fight by your side. I stayed behind. Not this time. Not anymore. I know what it's like to be in command now... and there's not going to be any pointless losses. Not if I can help it. I stand, tears welling in my eyes. You know I never did apologize. Back when I first met you I was such a loser. To you, to everyone. I was self-righteous and a coward. Well here I am, apologizing. Because that's not who I am anymore. I'm the Assassin of the Light. I'm going to make this right, even if I have to spark the fire in Baltarok to do it. I'm going to make this right, Hans. This is not happening again on my watch. Never again. I plant my longsword in the ground beside his grave. Leaving it there, I turn back to Arthur. What is going on, here, brother? "Dyric, brother! Join us." "De'kra wanted to tell me the story of his people, so that it will not be forgotten. I figured it would be best for such a story to be told in a place of memories. You just missed Benji Carvenhall--he'd heard some rumors about me, so I thought I'd follow De'kra's lead and show him my past. I guess he lost interest before the psychic link could properly take hold--he headed down the hill just a few moments before you showed up." "How have you been? I could use some good news." JimBee Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Hybros stands, arms crossed against a wall in the Saloon. It had been a while since he had seen many of the faces now lit by the fire's light in Heroica Hall. It was almost too bad that most of them would be gone within a few days, off on quests yet again. He spied Boomingham's jolly, bearded face at the bar. "Lawrence, it has been quite a while, eheheh. How have you been?" Quote

Good news? Well I don't suppose I've told you about Claire yet. She's a nice young woman down at the Waltzing Dragon. You should meet her someday. However, not all news lately is good. Have you heard of what's happening at Baltarok? Quote
Flipz Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Arthur shakes his head. "Haven't stopped by the Quest board in a while. Don't plan to, either, unless the Shadeaux pop their heads in to ask for some help." He sighs. "I'd hoped there'd be more good tidings. My Quest...didn't go so well. I mean, we finished the job, but it was a messy, complicated business--not to mention dealing with the most obnoxious dwarf to walk the face of Olegaia the whole time. Then, to add insult to injury, I come home to find out I was fired--not surprising, given how much the Heroica magicks warped time for us this go around, but still..." He shrugged. "I've heard enough grumbling in the Watch about Heroes being nothing but a bunch of freeloaders at a glorified pub. I figure I might as well put some truth to those rumors, at least until I'm back on my feet." Quote

Kintobor Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Karie meanders back into the hall, if only for a moment. She had a busy night ahead of her, and it was starting to get late. Leaning against the wall, Karie opens up a small pocket mirror and begins touching up her white paint, She looks about the hall. Lawrence and, Thothwick. She walks up to the quest board. "Ennoc priests, Orc warlords, a circus? Sounds interesting. Don't feel like dealing with the affairs of more politically important groups." She kept to the quest board and pulled out a small book: "Bedfellows: the Art of a Healthy Sexual Relationship." Perhaps someone of interest would walk in shortly. Focused on saving others--saving noblemen, saving the misguided, saving the fort, the village, the world. I've earned a rest--a good, long one--and some time alone to work out who I am. I am no longer Arthur the Chaomancer, the Scroll Mage, he who eschews traditional methods and fights in his own way. But neither am I Private Regulus of the Town Watch, Paragon of Order, A Hero who is Actually Worth Something. I am someone...different. And until I've figured out what, I'd be doing a disservice both to those who hire me and to those who Quest at my side." Arthur grasps the other man's arm. "Go to Baltarok in strength and courage, and know my thoughts are with you." "Perhaps you should travel with Lady Nerwen, or Lady Ellaria. Both are women of wisdom, and strong healers of courage as well. Either or both would be worthy companions in that far corner of the world." Edited December 1, 2013 by Flipz Quote
The Legonater Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I have spoken to Nerwen. She is indeed a fount of knowledge. Hopefully you'll one day finally discover just what you are. I firmly grasp Arthur's arm in farewell, then return to the Hall. Quote
