Returning to the Hall after his two-and-a-half week absence, Arthur looks to the Quest Board and at last sees a pitch to his liking. Simple, defending people, very reasonable reward...just what I need. The Skirmisher plants his shield, takes out a pen, and signs up for Quest 99. Afterward, he looks for a seat in a dark corner, away from the others. As much as he needed them--and as they'd need him--he wasn't really in the mood for company.

Unfortunately for him, the dark corners all seemed to be occupied today, so he settles for a seat by the usually quiet Em, acknowledging the Warden with a nod.

Oilan orders another beer, and broods.

Arthur notices a brooding dwarven Mage sitting across the Hall. Another one? After the last two, I don't know if Heroica can survive a third...still, maybe this one won't turn out to be a massive jerk. He nudges Em gently. "Who's the new guy?" he queries, somewhat disinterestedly.

OOC: I miss Amma.

Em shrugs. "Haven't spoken with him. Saw him talking to Grimwald a while back. Didn't really listen to what they were talking about."

Em takes a sip of his drink. "Hopefully he's strong."

Grimwald overhears the conversation and decides to join in.

"He says his name's Oilan. He didn't say much else, truth be told."

He pauses briefly to sip at his drink, then continues.

"You look a bit different since last I saw you, Arthur. Given up wizardry, have you? Oh, and Em, I meant to ask, how do you like the Iron Knuckle armour? Looks like you'll be able to take a beatin' in that!"

"Yes...spellcasting's had some...negative consequences for me, you might say. Hopefully my new career will help guide me to make better choices."

An eccentric-looking gnome in a top hat shuffled into the hall, struggling to reach the quest board for a moment, but managing to pin a notice right on the bottom of it.

Em rises from his seat, downing the rest of his drink. He nods to Arthur and Grimwald, then exits the hall at a brisk pace, a hand running over his chestplate. Perhaps even the corners of his mouth were curled up into a grin-- but it was hard to tell.

Hybros rises, ready for another quest. He looked forward to meeting with the gnomes and other short folk of Zylstra again, and departed the Hall with a look of determination. He noticed one other hero get up as well, an armored and silent Warden. Not unlike Bartholomew Docken, he thought.

I shift my gaze to the quest board.

I have been chosen.

I glance around at the others: the little demon and the warden.

Let's hope the little one doesn't spell trouble. I'll have to keep my eye on him.

So thinking, I head out of the hall.

En Sabah Nur entered the Hall. It was quiet so despite his training, the sound of his boots hitting the floor was quite audible. He looked to the rafters, expecting a heroine or two to be shuffling about. Maybe all members have been slain and assassins are dealing with returning heroes one at a time? In that case, I should shake this place up!

Nur put the pad of his thumb to that of his middle finger. Before he could snap and cause a minor tremor he scanned the questboard then looked to the upper level of the Hall and shouted. "Hey! Is anyone up there?"

The heroes in the hall almost choked in their free wine and bread when they saw a woman in a falcon mask walking to the Quest Board and attaching something on it. It was a rare sight that one of the Veterans posted a pitch for a quest themselves. Interested to see what the fuss was about, Scheherazade descended the stairs to meet The Falconer.

"So you Vets finally decided to do something about the chaos brewing in the city?"

heroicanpc-falconer.jpg

"No need for snarkiness, Scher. We have been working hard to convince the Six Houses of the new level of threat that Wolfgang poses now. The decreased crime rate and their inner squabling just muddles their perception, allowing Ulric and his witch continue converting the commoners into royalists. After the stunt she pulled at the Foundation Day Ball, it is evident we need to find more about the witch in order to have any chance in opposing her."

"Well, good luck to whichever poor bastards have to drag their butts to Babeleth Darklands. I have never heard a single good word about that place!"

heroicanpc-falconer.jpg

"It might not be the most desired tourist attraction in Olegaia, but it holds the knowledge we desperately need. I would go myself, but you know..."

Scheherazade gives The Falconer a knowing nod and a wink, before returning to her duties. The Falconer glances at the quest pitch she posted once more.

"We've come so far. We cannot allow that witch to end our story."
