Nur peeked through the railing from the stairway to see who was currently dining in Scheherazade's Saloon. He ducked down and whispered, "Now, like we planned. Remember to smile real big." A shabby figure walked passed Tesni's table to stop at another...

"Greetings friend, Skrall. It is I, En Sabah Nur. It seems the ailment behind my stone encased arm has progressed since our last venture into the Fields of Glory unless you have seen Nur since the rocks mysteriously fell from his arm in anti-climatic fashion. " Nur stood with mouth agape for a few seconds before he cackled loudly making little attempt to conceal himself. It seemed he was up to the same lame tricks.

Annie thought about what Skrall said, about the current situation surrounding her and hearing about the current feuding houses. "Do you think it'll happen again?"

"Perhaps, if the group don't see sense in putting these petty feuds aside. Time will tell, I think enough of the heroes are sensible enough to know where to stand in all of this."

Skrall gave a small start at seeing the petrified mage, inhaling as opposed to exhaling his latest puff of smoke. After a violent fit of coughing and eyes watering the ogre spoke, "Nur! Ya devil, don't go scarin' a fellow like that." The hunter surveyed his friend. "Is it serious? Ya should have gotten a cleric to check that out. How long has it been? Ya were doin' just fine that last time we left the fields."

"That's enough, Alfred. Leave this poor creature be." Nur wiped a tear from his eye. He found himself quite hilarious even if no one else did. "I should have sought more experienced help but I thought I could figure it out meself. The rocks ended up flaking off on their own." He extended a hand towards Skrall then introduced his companion. "This is Alfred. He owes me his life so serves as a bodyguard. He grows extra shiny when he gets defensive. Mmhm. Who is your fair skinned companion?"

Skrall does a quick double take at the two similarly dressed individuals, before smiling. "Nur, it seems like it's been an age, schemin' as ever it would seem. A bodyguard isn't a bad idea these days seein' the condition Eubric's fallin' into." The ogre turns back to his pipe, pointing it in Anniel's direction across the hall. "Don't know if we've ever been properly introduced, I think Whisperer's laid claim though." The ogre winked but then grinned, "Not that he would be much trouble for ya though."

Atramor stepped back into the hall after a long absence, taking up his favorite seat at the bar. Scheherazade didn't seem to bother waiting for him to say something and slapped a bottle of rum right in front of him. The rogue thief knocked it back nearly as quickly, Twitzle the coal mine canary flitting about on the bar counter looking for any crumbs it could find.

Annienal nods in agreement, setting her incense in a holder in an attempt to relax as she sets the newspaper down and digs through her bag, eventually pulling out a weathered looking book.

"Eep!" Annienal shrieked, as she hid behind her book at the sight of the golem.

"Indeed...I do not wish to get political Ogre but the golem's protection is most welcomed now that I have pledged my allegiance to the Wolfgang." Nur smiled briefly at the elf. "There is no need to fear us, child. We're all on the same side here in this guild...for now. I have encountered powerful and respectable members of their organization." He waved his hand in the air dismissively. "Not like Dozenhands. That man was a pure criminal. But honest folk who work hard to help the downtrodden of this city. Annndd...!"

Nur dug through his satchel. "...they reward their most faithful with grand tokens. I present the Unlucky Crossbow (WP:13, causes jinxed-effect; crossbow). I'd like to give it to you free of charge as a gift if you'd accept." He raised his hands as if in surrender. "No deception or coercive recruitment tactics from me, good sir. I simply saw something I knew you would like, assuming the crossbow is still your weapon of choice? I did hear mention of you using a massive sword in your adventures..."

"Oh a sword's handy when someone's gets up in yer face, but the crossbow is so much more elegant a weapon and this one here..." Skrall accepts the gift, admiring its craftsmanship, "is elegance incarnate. Wolfgang you say? I'd heard somethin' about a shake-down through the ranks, if the rumors are true 'bout his work in the hovels and amongst the poor and down trodden, then maybe this soddin' city has some hope for it yet. Ya think Ulric's got a chance? There's some mighty powerful folks, including ones in this hall, I don't think would be too keen on him comin' to power."

"Aye, dwarven made. My mother's mother is a dwarf or so my father claims. He'd say, 'That woman was as solid and stubborn as the rocks you throw with your spells. Hit harder though.'" Nur shrugged. "Perhaps it's all the mixed blood in me but you know I...'follow my own path'. Ulric's path also seems to be heading in the same direction as mine. If others take issue with the Wolf King's ascension, they are free to express themselves civilly...or through violent means. I travel in the direction the wind blows letting what may come, come." Nur sighed briefly. Alfred headed to the bar and back. "Sugar water with multiple squirts of lemon. Mmhm."

"Finally, a quest!" I scribble my name down on the sign up sheet.

QM Note: We QMs are a picky lot. We like the name of the character and we like it bolded. Otherwise we can't tell who's signing up for quests.

Annienal, noticing that the creature standing in the hall is golem, removes herself from behind the bar and seats herself carefully on her stool. She realigns her incense and returns to her book.

~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#145 by Palathadric)!~

Ellaria made her way back to the Hall, determined to find a new task to focus on after spending such a long time underground. Much to her surprise, the eldery woman that bumped into her the other day entered at the same time. Ellaria held the door for her and nodded politely, but the woman did not even look her way. Shaking her head, the alchemist made her way to the Quest Board after the older woman. Seeing the slim pickings, Ellaria signed up for Quest#144.

Quintessa decided that if there was no new quests on offer that day, she would pack her belongings and return to Heartland, no matter what his son said. Arriving to the Hall, she was mildly pleased that there was a servant girl holding the door open for her, even though the girl's uniform was strange and bore no emblems. Sailing in, Quintessa made her way to the Quest Board and saw that there was in fact a quest that sounded just about right for her. Quintessa signed up for Quest#145, with a strong faith in that this would be the day that her new adventure would truly begin.

Seeing the stronger heros sign up for quest 144, I decide that quest is way out of my game and erase my name from quest 144's sign up sheet and sign up for quest 145 instead.

The door swung gently as the stone warrior entered the Hall. Its dire crow companion took off from the golem's shoulder, disappearing in the rafters briefly before returning into view. It finally perched on the Saloon's railing just above the golem as he halted in front of the quest board. "The Master is in need of gold coins to fund his mischievious machinations." En Sabah Nur's head slowly turned to the left then to the right as he searched for a writing instrument. "I am in need of a writing instrument..."

esn_bw0a.jpg - "Caaw - Caw!"

At that moment, Gastrolith expelled a substance from its anus. It ran down the wall onto the questboard just above Alfred's eye level. The golem extended his right index finger, dipping it in the goop and signing up for a quest. En Sabah Nur signs up for Quest #144: The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword. I will have to modify my ruse in order to pass myself off as the Master.

Skrall strode back into the hall. On his way upstairs, the ogre paused at the quest board, mumbling under his breath. "A novelist huh? I'd bet a better orator would come in handy for the Wolfgang." The hunter signed up fro Quest 144 before continuing to the bar. Ordering a tankard of ale Skrall passed Alfred, in a lowered voice the ogre questioned the golem, "Where is your master, I wish to speak with him."
