Hoke finally made his way into the Hall, not sure quite how to take recent events. He quickly scanned the Hall, seeing many new faces he had never seen before and a few familiar ones. He approached Dyric and sat down beside him.

"That was an interesting journey," he says almost absently.

Indeed. Long and tiresome, but also eye-opening. Seeing home again was... refreshing, I think. Though I would have liked to see your dragons. I do always enjoy the company of dragons.

"It was a sight to be seen for sure. Unfortunately, they didn't want to be seen. We had to battle a matron of the group, something I wish we wouldn't have had to do. But, mayhaps that situation can be remedied now," Hoke says, the last bit mostly to himself.

He proceeds to carefully dump out the contents of his pack on the table to sort through his loot.

"See anything you are interested in?" He asks Dyric.

The sound of loot clattering on a table draws Annienal attention to it, her eyes lighting up. She slinks off her stool and moves towards the items sprawled out on the table, her eyes gravitating towards the dragon scales and the hollow flagpole.

"Um, excuse me sir, are you willing to part with either the Dragon Scales of the Hollow Flagpole?"

"Sure, I could use a bite to eat," Hoke says pointing to the Raw Meat.

Sounds like a deal to me.

I turn to the newcomer. Miss... Anavar, wasn't it?

"Done,"Hoke says as he shakes Dyric's hand and accepts the Raw Meat.

He signals a tavernkeep over and asks for them to prepare the Raw Meat and to bring some bread and mead. A short time later the food arrives, perfectly prepared, and Hoke consumes the Raw Meat (HP +5)

"Mayhaps. Depends on the offer," Hoke says as he eyes the Crimson Haze.

Annienal notices Hokes eyes linger over the Crimson Haze, placing the vial on the table along with 300 gold.

"Does, um, the vial of Crimson Haze and 300 gold sound good for both of the Dragon Scales and the Flagpole?"

"Let me finish up here, and I will show you how to use this thing," Hoke offers hoisting the Flagpole as he accepts the deal and slides over the Dragon Scales,"These came from a very special friend. Use them wisely."

Hoke hands over the Hollow Flagpole and 2x Dragon Scales and accepts the 300 gold and Crimson Haze.

Annienal gives Hoke her Crimson Haze and 300 gold in exchange for his two Dragon Scales and his Hollow Flagpole.

"I'll, um, be waiting over there. Thank you!" Annienal grins happily as she hastily picks up her new flagpole, gleefully admiring the craftsmanship of bannered lance.

Hoke finishes off the last of his meal as the lass skips off. He uncorks the vial of Crimson Haze, wafting the scent. It is sharp and pungent, instantly causing a sting of pain right behind his eyes. He turns his head with a sour and regretful expression on his face and carefully sets the opened vial on the table. He retrieves the small black orb from his glove which he had tucked into his belt. He eyes it as it because more malleable, sensing what is to come. He holds the orb over the vial as it slowly oozes out of his hand like a metallic snail stretching itself out of its shell. It slides out of his hand and into the vial, soaking up the red liquid.

"So what's next in your plans?" he asks Dyric as he watches the orb consume the contents of the vial.

Em approaches Hoke, drawing out his Balanced Main-Gauche and his Crimson Haze. "That Great Axpeord is quite the blade. Would you be willing to trade for it, friend?"

"Deal," Hoke says as he shakes Em's hand and hands over the Great Axpeord (WP:40, cannot be wielded with a shield; greatsword/axe/spear) and accepts the trade.

"So what's next in your plans?" he asks Dyric as he watches the orb consume the contents of the vial.

Dyric gives a half-hearted shrug. Whatever comes up, I suppose. I know I'll be on call if the witches show up again. Should the Fates allow, we'll be able to end this once and for all.

Until then...

The hero turns away from his table, taking a long look at the old building. I don't recognize the faces, Hoke. New people always come in, good people keep leaving. Stick to a quest or two a year, and - well, I don't know most of these people. I've never been one to run around introducing myself. Nerwen practically forced me to ask out-

There's a tired sigh as Dyric sloshes his drink around. Then there's Claire. Have I even told you about her? Who knows anymore. I should break it off, I know. It's not fair to her, leaving for a year at a time like this. Running around with these people I've never met. And yet... this is who I am, Hoke. Being a Hero, saving the day. I can't live without this, in fact it'll probably be the death of me. Somehow, I've become content with that.

With a wry grin, he turns back to Hoke. Did that come anywhere close to answering your question?

Hoke chuckled.

"Sounds like I shouldn't have asked."

He looks around the Hall again, seeing all the new faces Dyric noted.

"It's good to have young blood, new blood in here. If there's enough, maybe one day the world won't need a Hoke or Dyric to deal with these treacherous plots. Then, if you're lucky, you can have your Claire."

With that, Hoke stood up and stretched wide and shouted toward Annienal.

"Come young one, and I will show you how to use that thing, and how to use your mystical energies to make it stronger."

Annienal jumped, turning around quickly towards the shouting voice. She quickly made her way back to the table, flagpole in hand. The banner waved violently as she hurried to the man she traded for it. "O-okay! So, um, where are we going to do this?"

"There's a clearing in the woods outside of the city I've used many times. Peaceful, quiet, perfect for concentrating and training."

"Um, alright, sure. Let me just grab my things and we can head there." Annienal grabbed her things and awaited the man to lead. "Oh, um, I'm Annienal, by the way. I don't believe we've met before?"

As soon as Cedric walks into Heroica Hall, he sees a strange-talking man set down some boots next to him. Why?

Cedric spits in the boots.

Cedric doesn't hear the lunatic respond, so takes the boots and walks up to Hoke. "'Ey, you look like you know what you're doin'. I saw you sell things earlier, so I'll ask how much for the Blade of Tranquility? It has a very low power, so it can't be worth a lot. Probably too much coin f'r me now, but I could pay ya back later."

"'Kay." Cedric says and walks to the bar, mumbling something about slimy swords on the way. "Get me a mead." He says to the Orcish bartender. "It's been a long week."

"Aye, I heard some o' it but didn´t wanna be rude. So ye been on many quests th'n, fought many battles?"

He chugs down a couple of meads.

Couple of quests, yeah. Nothing too amazing, made a couple of friends. You know Ezeran, a powerful mage with a, well, monster on his belly? He is my closest friend here. But anyway, Torald raises his mead, to fame, glory and friends! He drinks it in one big gulp. So, what about you?
