Darth Nihilus Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 OOC: Sorry about the double post, but since no one else posted, I figured I could just show you Dak's new look. IC:Dak jogged up the stairs to his room, flew around a corner, and jumped through the door. He slammed the door and hung up his cloak, he would wash it later. He was walking across the room to find himself some new clothes in his bag when his foot hit hard leather. He looked down and picked up the item his foot had hit. It was his old fencing gear. He smiled. This was what he would wear, now that his cloak was ruined. Dak walked down the stairs in his new clothes. He then went to the market to upgrade his weapons. Quote
Tanma Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 De'kra sat in the hall, alone. It wasn't that other heroes didn't frequent the Hall, a few Quests had recently ended and many heroes were back at Heroica. But De'kra knew pretty much none of them, and thus he felt no need to reach out. Of course he might go on a quest with some of these heroes in the future, but for the moment there was no pressing need to interact with other heroes. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Dak walked back into the Hall, signed up for every open Quest, and saw a short Rogue sit down. He sat down at the same table and decided to start a conversation. "Hello there, what's your name? Mine's Dak. Nice to meet ya." Quote
Tanma Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 De'kra nodded at the other rogue, and clicked, "I call I De'kra. I think you were member of Quest 13 yes? I heard of Quest in Library when heroes and I finish heroes and I Quest. What was Quest 13 like?" Quote

I heard of Quest in Library when heroes and I finish heroes and I Quest. What was Quest 13 like?" "Hullo, De'kra. Yeah, I was in Quest 13. It was okay, but we were tricked by our guide, and that made me a little angry. I read about your Quest too. Did you know that it was you and your party that inspired me to become a Hero? Well, that and my uncle, who was your guide. I hear he tricked you too. Maybe we can get on a Quest together sometime. I think you and I might make a pretty good team in battle." Quote
Tanma Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 IC: De'kra paused and pondered the figure's words. "But...heroes and I fail Quest," he said, "Not officially, heroes and I complete all objectives, but heroes and I create a massive war in north. Many will die because of war, war that need not happen. Records might say heroes and I win, but in truth heroes and I lost. On other note, how you learn of Igroup? Were you villager in one of the villages heroes and I visit?" Quote

I left without a word to the people I was staying with. Then I came here, to become like you and your fellows. Don't worry about it De'kra, people are working to stop the war right now. Besides, it wasn't your fault. It was your guide's fault, since he was the one that arranged it all." Quote

I no forget that. If I forget that I cause war, I might disassociate I from deaths made by war. And I know what happen when people disassociate, it...bad. Plus heroes in Quest 17 not undo war, instead heroes help Crownies/Lion Knights to win war for Knights. Heroes not sent to end fighting, but to win war." Quote

I learned that long ago, in a place far from here. I made a decision that led to the death of someone very dear to me, and I blamed myself. The regret nearly destroyed me. I learned that what has been done, cannot be undone, and that is the way things are. It was not your fault. If the Brobric Elves took it upon themselves to start this war, so be it." Quote
Xarrzan Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Sarick slithered into the hall. He was missing quite a few scales and he was still scratching. His fangs were quite a bit longer than before he started his quest. He kept slithering, heading to the library. Quote

Past always relevant, no matter how old it is. Orcish Invasion was 250 years ago, but it still affect mindset of Eubric towards Orcs. People who forget past doom to repeat mistakes of old. Might people forget the cause of the war, another war just like it will emerge. And sometimes ramifications of past rear head hundreds of years later. Dannylonglegs Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Sylph leaned further into the bar, his eyes closed. Those who saw him would have thought him asleep. No empty glasses encircled his head, no one sat beside him. He was not asleep, but rather, vicariously listening to the conversations of others through his lively bat who swooped overhead. He was currently keenly eavesdropping on the discussion unfolding between the shade and those around him. Sylph tried to remember the war. Thoughts were blurry, as thoughts from lives past. Still the persistent image was of a lighting struck tree in a dark forest. He could hear the screams of orcs and beasts of nature and humans all silenced. He could remember the silence. He smiled beneath his cold metal mask. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Dak's keen senses kicked in, and he whirled around, eyes searching the Hall for danger. Almost everyone was asleep or drunk, except for the person in the metal mask at the bar. Dak could sense his attentiveness, but he didn't let it on. Insted, he spun again, this time to face De'kra. "I agree with your sentiments, but something tells me that there may be more consequences of both our decisions than we may know. Hopefully they won't happen until we are long dead, though." In a whisper so quiet only the Shade can hear, Dak says, "Look out, De'kra, someone at the bar is listening. I won't tell you which one, but be warned." Quote
Tanma Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 IC: De'kra's eyes seemed to burn as he clicked, "I will no die. Never again! Never again..." Then he softly whispered, "Wait, people not suppose listen to other people conversations? I...was not aware of that. It like personal property thing all over again." Quote

"We all die, De'kra, stop bashing yourself about it. I'm no expert on Shades, so I don't know how long they live, but they do die, right? Maybe they don't. Whatever. Anyway, no, people are not supposed to be listening in on other people's conversations when the conversations deal with personal matters." Dak shoots a glare in Sylph's direction. If looks could kill, Sylph would be deader than a doornail right now. Dak half mutters to himself,"Maybe I should get a butler. That, or a chicken. Either of those could watch my back for me. Hmmmm." I mind and I body leave world to scary place. Scary place, shred I mind. I forgot everything when I body return to this world. I forgot language, people, concepts, only know First Tongue and terror. I see only strangers talk weirdly, not fellow heroes. I almost attack them. I not sure how I got memory back, I no trust it to return. I have plan to help remember might I die again, but it might not work. I might lose memories again, and might I be high level, I might kill young heroes. And even if I plan work to give back memories, I no want to see scary place again." Softly he added, "I use I fear of death as cover, so listener no notice. I think I hear listener too, not sure where though." OOC: it is important to know that De'kra's deaths are unique, and if there is an official afterlife/lives for Olegaia, De'kra desn't share it. Dannylonglegs Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Sylph saw through the weak eyes of his bat that a pale half-elf had somehow figured out that he was listening to him talk with the shade, and glared at the back of Sylph's helmet. That was annoying Sylph thought to himself silently. He guarded his thoughts on the off chance the half-elf was more than the rogue he let on to be. It was most likely that the rogue noticed a familiar when he saw one and had connected him and Sylph. Sylph decided that as fun as it would be to continue pestering the weak elf spawn, he didn't need to make any enemies among the heroes...yet. Sylph directed his bat to another side of the relatively quiet hall and hoped that the rogue would notice and calm down. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) Noticing that no gaze was being directed at him, Dak calms down, a little. He thinks about approaching the person who seemed to hold secrets in a place of such value, but thinks better of it. Until he was on a Quest, he didn't need enemies, not until he had a bit more field experience. Instead, he turned back to De'kra. "As I said, I don't know much about Shades, but I'm assuming you are an abnormal one?" Edited December 28, 2011 by Darth Nihilus Quote
Tanma Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 IC: De'kra shook his head and replied, "No, I not really even shade. I no know what I am, I name, I home, or most of I past. I call I shade because I shadow of I former self. I call I De'kra because in I first tongue it might mean Shadowed Whispers, refer to I memories. I no know if I norm or abnormality, because I no know I race. Some things of aoi and Dastan Empire seem familar though." Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) "Ah. De'kra, have you ever thought you might be a spirit? The description you gave matches my idea of a spirit pretty well. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to do something." Dak walks over to Sylph. "Nice bat. Where did you get it? I've seen someone use bats as spies before. Are you using it as a spy as well? Nice 'sleeping' act, by the way. Too bad I can see through it, otherwise it would be perfect." With that, Dak walks to the Library to do some research on spirits. Dannylonglegs Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 So much for going unnoticed, thought Sylph as he was approached by the annoying pale half-elf. "Nice bat. Where did you get it? I've seen someone use bats as spies before. Are you using it as a spy as well? Nice 'sleeping' act, by the way. Too bad I can see through it, otherwise it would be perfect." Dak spat at him as he lifted his head to properly address his inquisitor. Sylph lifted his gloved hand in preparation to speak, but just as he was about to start, Dak turned and sauntered towards the library, leaving Sylph confused. "What a strange, impatient being." he mumbled when he was sure that the half-elf was out of earshot. He was sure that the rogue would find out what he said anyway. Sylph returned to his sleep-like trance, confident that the rogue was just a rogue, and could not have noticed the magical ties between Sylph and the bat, nor could he read Sylph's thoughts. Sylph was more intrigued by De'kra anyway. What was the mysterious little fellow? Quote
Xarrzan Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Sarick slithers back into the hall. He moves to the quest board and reads the quests. "I did not receive improved relations with the Ziegfried in my last quest so I will try again." Sarick signs up for Quest #21 Family History. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 The door to Heroica Hall opened, it was raining, and cold outside, one could better be indoors. In came a tired, wet man. his face was covered by black strips of cloth, but the few patrons that looked towards the door could still see the disappointment in the man's eyes. Guts looked around, the place was exactly as it was when he first left it, to 'search for the Darkstar'. The only difference was that there were a few people now, that he had'nt seen before. It did'nt matter, this place would be his home for the coming time, for how long? Guts did not know, it could be days, weeks or months... Thinking about this, Guts got lost in thought. Time, it was relative, but also absolute, especially for those whose time is limited. The last thought brought a bitter smirk on his face. Slowly, Guts walked towards the table he had began to favor in the time he had spent in the Hall before. On it's way, the rogue grabbed a half-full bottle of wine from an empty table, and grabbed a mostly clean mug from another. On the way, the rogue passed the Questboard, he took a quick look, and scribbled something that could -with some effort- be deciphered as Holla, under Quest #20. Cave exploration, might as well, it had proven he had a knack for excavating in the past quest. A skill he wished he had discovered he possessed sooner, perhaps his life would have gone differently... The Ziegfrieds also needed more help, apparantly. Guts sighed, he would be damned if that family was not the most incapable bunch, despite their apparant skill with magic. They continously need help from Heroica Hall, and his recent adventure had learned Guts that they were not the best in picking their associates. Finally the rogue arrived at the table, luckily there was no one else sitting there. Guts took a sip from the bottle, put the bottle and mug on the table, and unstrapped his equipment. The rogue dropped his weapons and his valued shovel on the table, and made himself comfortable on a chair. Guts looked at the mug, before tossing it aside, why use a mug, if you can drink right from the bottle. And that is what the rogue then did, he drank, it is not like he had anything better to do.
