CorneliusMurdock Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 "Ah, defending a city. You said you had a shield? I thought of advancing my training to include that of a Knight but it didn't seem right for me." Yes, Cronk's shield very handy. Many foes get free hits but Cronk stay safe. Cronk defend with two other knights, ranger and Cleric. At end of battle shields kept knights up and fighting. Friend Alexis' choice of class nice too. Plenty of elemental friends to play with. Cronk notice little fire birdy too. Very pretty. What fire birdy eat? Quote
CMP Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Atramor returned to the hall, still marvelling at his new dagger. Taking a seat up across from Boomingham, he ordered and quickly took a heavy gulp of mead. "Hey, Larry," he greets casually. "You, er, look...'brighter'," he notes, referring to the strange holy aura seeming to surround the veteran. "Still usin' that shield, eh?" Quote

Zepher Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) Boomingham looks up and beams to see Atramor, another of his long lost companions from his first quest. "Yes indeed. It's served me quite well, chap, quite well indeed. I'd love to see Umbra again though, I haven't run into her in my travels. I've actually been away from Uland quite a lot. Killed some buggies in the desert and some snowmen in the North, nothing overly heroic, actually." Boomingham leans in close, confidently. "Almost makes you wish for a war, doesn't it? To be able to actually help people and actually hurt some real big time baddies," Boomingham sits up straight again "mind you I said almost. How's the birdy of your's doing? And as for my brightness... well, I've always been bright, haven't I?" Boomingham chuckles. "I became a Paladin, gods know why, I thought it would be a kick. Besides, they're the closest to the soldier that I once was I can be. They're a real military order still, at the least, and their heads are still in the right place. I got myself a companion too. He squeaks angrily and it's easy to ruffle his feathers, but he can talk too... sometimes I wish he couldn't. Barty, you around boy-o?!" Barty whizzes around Boomingham's head nervously. He is watching the chicken. Edited February 23, 2012 by Zepher Quote
CMP Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Atramor glances sideways at McCafferey, a few tables away and still 'reading'. "She's, ah, fine...and rogues don't do well in war, mate. Was just writin' Arthur - a mage - on how ta' keep those elves at bay from some Hinckwell fort. See, as long as there's somethin' to hide behind...a ship, a fort, a knight....I do just fine. See, a few years back, I was a cabin boy on this ship, the Feisty Fenarian, and slappin' tagether bombs was my piece in combat. Then I got outta the, er, piratin' business, and ended upon the streets of Dreida instead." He holds up his clay mug of mead to Boomingham. "See, most people see this as a drink. I do too. But first and foremost, ya'know what I see this as? Somethin' the scatter all over the enemy before droppin' a match on 'em. And generally I had to check how strong any liquor was before wastin' it on a ship, 'cuz some of it's not as strong as these bloody two-faced merchants'll tell 'ya, and ya' end up throwing a bunch'a watered-down gruel on tha' decks of tha' enemy ship, and tha' next thing ya'know, yer' standin' on the top mast watchin' the ship go down beneath 'yer feet, prayin' to Neron'll live through this one, while the damn Bonapate's throwin' whatever rum they got left on 'ya and laughin' their wigs off..." Atramor blinks, and shakes his head, rubbing one eye. "So, er, a companion?" Quote
RPGer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 -In the Arena- Durkon screamed, his head filling with madness, he called upon his last will as he fought a battle with the demon Abraxas, his face contorted in gut-wrenching pain. He crackled with the power of lightning as he won the mental battle with his evil foe. Gasping, he turned to Sorrow and vengefully attacked him, screaming in rage. He knew that he was turning into a killing machine. But he did not care. OCC: Working on more charactor building, after seeing Scorpiox's post in R&D. Quote

Xarrzan Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Sarick was sitting in the hall when the letter appeared before him. He had not see one of these before and tried to sense the magical aura of the letter. It did not feel hostile but a mage powerful enough to send a letter to him directly could also be powerful enough to disguise any ill magic. Sarick encased the letter in a box of ice with a hole on the side [at the cost of 1 ether]. He stuck his right hand inside the opening and opened the letter. No explosion or trap seemed to happen so he began to read...he looked up and searched for Nerwen. "Hey Nerwen, Guts sends his regardsss." Sarick then went back to reading the letter. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Johon gets up and finds a nice, long, strong, stick and decides to make a fishing pole. He carves it to the right length, get some string and attaches a connection at the end of the rod. Then he gets some wood and carves some pieces to make a hook, it is a rather large hook, but hopefully, he'll catch some rather large fish. he ties the hook on and gets it attaches to the rod. He gets up and goes out to see if he can get some fish. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Alexis walked into the hall, she'd been to visit Ellaria. It was nice to see her friend, but Ellaria wasn't feeling to well. Maybe she'd try to find a druid somewhere to help her with the pain. She got herself a drink and sat down. Maybe someone would come into the hall to talk, someone usually did. In the meantime, she decided to see what Mandy ate. So Alexis starts trying to feed Mandy some of the many food items that the hall gives out. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Johon sits next to Alexis as she tries feeding the phoenix. "How are you? I mailed Ellaria, but never got a response, do you know anything about what's wrong?" Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 After failing to get a good response out of Atramor's chicken, Olinn decides to talk to the phoenix. He goes to stroke it, but remembers that they're fiery and hot to the touch, and so decides against it. "Hello, Mrs. Phoenix!", he said calmly. "What's your name? Are you hungry?" He then gets a chicken drumstick and waves it in front of her. He had heard that phoenix's love poultry, but he wasn't sure. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Alexis looks to the barbarian. "I'm doing fine, but Ellaria is having a rough time, I'm not sure she wants too many people to know about it so I'll just say that she's not to happy." Then she looks at the ranger chatting with her Phoenix. "Feel free to try to feed her, I have not found out what she eats myself." Alexis said with a smile. [My name is Mandy Mr. Ranger. And yes I am hungry, but I don't eat poultry, pork on the other hand is tasty! Do you have any?] Quote
Jebediahs Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 With a lull in the action, En Sabah Nur again returned to the Hall from the arena. He nodded to Alexis as the crowd grew around her and her new companion. She was quite good with animals. The baby bird was where it belonged. Nur wondered how long before it reached adulthood. Those things seemed to age pretty quickly. He ordered a drink before joining some other heroes... "Ah, Boomingham, Atramor, you two seem to be having an intense discussion. Pardon me for interrupting but could I interest either of you in this magical crown? As you can see, I'm quite partial to my bandana and the diadem has never sat right on top of it. It'll add extra power to your swings but...you may feel a bit woozy the first time you put it on. You know, as the magic takes hold of ye." He removed the Thorny Diadem - (suitable for anyone, +3 to power, but -6 to maximum health) from his satchel and placed it on the table. "Boomingham, I'm sure someone with your high constitution and, er...girth would have no trouble shaking off the weakening effect. This ornate item could be yours for the small fee of 50 gold!" Nur leaned back in his seat and absorbed the atmosphere of the Hall. He knew how the Thorny Diadem had affected him but perhaps it would affect another differently? Either way he hoped to make some coin. Quote
Zepher Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 "...while the damn Bonapate's throwin' whatever rum they got left on 'ya and laughin' their wigs off..." Atramor blinks, and shakes his head, rubbing one eye. "So, er, a companion?" Boomingham blinks a few times rapidly. The man has stories to rival his own. Boomingham didn't know why he hadn't really sat down and talked with the Rogue before, they clearly both had many things to teach each other. "I see it as just a drink..." Boomingham told him before taking a huge swig of his. He removed the Thorny Diadem - (suitable for anyone, +3 to power, but -6 to maximum health) from his satchel and placed it on the table. "Boomingham, I'm sure someone with your high constitution and, er...girth would have no trouble shaking off the weakening effect. This ornate item could be yours for the small fee of 50 gold!" Boomingham picked up the Diadem and immediately felt a little woozy. "Where'd you pick this bad boy up?" asks Boomingham. It's rather dinky in his fat, hairy hands. "Don't do it, Lawrence! That thing is evil. Don't trust it. You're a Paladin now. You walk in the light!" "Hardly. It's evil? Just like my Frozen Sabre? And the chicken?" Boomingham lets out a hardy laugh and passes 50 gold to Nur (75-50=25) before plopping the diadem on his head. If he wasn't incredibly drunk, his vision would swim, but his vision was swimming already and so it made no difference. "Yes..." whispers Barty before taking up his place hovering nervously under Boomingham's sagging chair once more. "What adventures have you been on of late, Nur? I met you when you were about to go apprehend a petty thief! What have you seen and done since then? Have you gotten a taste of the world? What I wouldn't give for a taste of that world! To meet real people and explore real lands... ones that aren't barren, that is." Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) [Why yes, I have a bit of salted pork right here. I'm a vegetarian, you see, so I havn't had any use for it until now; here you go!] Olinn returned Alexis' smile nervously as he passed Mandy the pork. His pet falcon Raoul circled the phoenix, then landed on Olinn's shoulder. Edited February 25, 2012 by Mibbiwocket Quote

Mibbiwocket Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 "Oh... uh, th-this is Raoul..." It very well could be. "Ah, it was passed on to me in my second mission by the cleric Ratibor as I was the most magically inclined of the group. Unfortunately I was never able to unlock the thing's true potential. If ye don't like it, you could always give it as a gift to a young lass-" Nur visibly winced as Boomingham put on the helm. He shrugged then relaxed as diadem didn't seem to affect the burly man. "Only my latest quest has been off the island. My first took me under the city. Unfortunately we weren't successful and never caught the thief. My second mission took me to a school here in Eubric. The place was haunted with ghosts. A tough one, almost died. It was my first encounter with the undead and I'm not looking forward to the next. And my lastest adventure was with Atramor here, chasing down some piratey types. How do you think we fared, Atramor?" Quote
CMP Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Atramor shrugs nervously. "Yeah, I prefer just drinkin' the stuff too, mate..." He blinked up as En Sabah Nur appeared. "Us? Fine. Guess I have a bit of a mind for puzzles after all. Gave me a bit to think about, though. Never thought I'd be on the other side of...of the, ah, situation like that. Just be happy it wasn't a long term stay, eh? An' I s'pose some of us might'n'tve been up to it..." McCafferey, meanwhile, gazed unconcernedly at Raoul at his attempt to woo the recently-arrived phoenix. Obviously she was no longer alone in this negligible place...as an avian, of course. Quote

Never heard of the fellow, is he a decent one? That's the thing with this hall, isn't it, isn't it, always need folks, and you never stop learning about them, doing you, do you, doing..." Boomingham is clearly drunk at this point. His eyes are narrowed into slits. "And didn't catch that thief. Huh? Probably that Ogre you went with, not to be trusted... no, never trust them...he let the thief go, didn't he?! Huh?!" Boomingham whispers now, "Or mages... never trust mages, ever ever ever. Oh... aren't you a mage? Or something. Yes, you you, do you have honor? And what... does anyone know Cronk fellow? He's a strange-un, that one, he is. And sorry, you're a good chappo, aren't you Nur! Haha! Yes, yes, you are, and Nyx and Mr. Marvelo of course, but still, those mages and their time travel and... don't trust them. You neither Artamari." "Yeah, I prefer just drinkin' the stuff too, mate..." "Drinking! Hahahaha! Another round for me, Sharr... oh well. That lady is no good, you know. You're a good fellow, you are, Artamaro... yes sir, yes sir! Have you ever thought of joining the army? They're a good way to straighten you out then you know. It's true, it's true. You're both good chaps. We ought to go on a quest together, you know, unsettle some dust out in that world, help some poor villagers or something. I was a general once, you know, had a whole troop before I met that little back stabber traitor rascal. Haha! Mages. Never trust them. Of course, the whole thing was the Orcs faults, because they started the war and I would never have even left home if it weren't for them. But you know. Point is, when I woke up I wasn't helping anyone, just slouching around and drinking, cause of the shock you know, even though I've always been a drinker, that much is true. Anyway, point is, I came here and ran errands for gold, and don't get me wrong I love gold, but I don't think I've really served like I used to serve. Do you two think that? Do you? you're really good chaps, I've not really had chaps to drink with yet. Hybros maybe... if he'd return, and Marvelo and Nyx, but I don't know where they are, so you're good chaps to me." Quote

Jebediahs Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 *snip* Nur simply shook his head and grinned as the drunken time-displaced king rambled on. "A general, you say? Have you spent much time in the arena they have here? I'm sure all us heroes could benefit from your decades+ of combat knowledge. Perhaps you could start with me? Zepher Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Boomingham slams down his glass mightily and sighs. Artmary, save us this table, would you chap? We should be back before too long! This whelp won't last a minute against me. I'm a king." Quote
