The_Customizer Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Erdathcath realizing she is the first one from her group to return to Heroica Hall, quickly walks over to Scheherazade and tells her that her son has been found, though he may not be in the best condition by the time he returns home. Erdathcath then walks over to the questboard, and realizes that there is currently only 1 quest to join, she quickly scribbles her name "Erdathcath Madilinas" under Quest 25. Whether she gets chosen or not is not a big issue for her, after all, she has just returned from a previous quest. After a little thought, Erdathcath also decides to upgrade her outfit, though she knows she will be upgrading soon. Edited March 13, 2012 by The_Customizer Quote
Jebediahs Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 En Sabah Nur returned to the training grounds. After his poor performance with his shuriken in the arena, Nur needed more practice hitting targets that weren't stationary. He summoned his pet rock. "Alright 'Rock, start moving... please ." The rock obeyed and began to slowly roll as Nur jogged a distance of sixteen studs away. He threw the first of his shuriken which overshot the target by at least four studs. Nur refocused and let his second fauxthril star fly. It was right on course to connect with its target when the pet rock stopped suddenly, allowing the shuriken to pass harmlessly in front of it. "Aw, c'mon." Pet Rock began to wiggle back and forth then hopped up and down in place. "You're right, friend. The enemies won't be easy on me either. Thank you...let us continue." Nur's final shuriken found its target and bounced harmlessly to the ground. The geomancer collected his thrown weapons and noticed slight wear on the one that had hit the rock. "Hm, will need to sharpen this later. C'mere a moment." Nur placed his hands over Pet Rock and recited an incantation. His hands glowed and a thin stream of water poured forth. The rock's surface began to weaken as the water trickled over it. "There, soft enough not to damage my stars. When I score a hit it'll stick and we'll be able to see exactly where." Pet Rock rolled between two points ten studs apart and Nur's practice continued... Quote
Khorne Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 After a long time of absence, Eric entered the famed Heroica Hall once more. Some would say people like him no longer fit in the hall, that people like him could longer call themself a hero. He didn't care. The Southern standards for calling people "heroes" didn't even apply to him in his eyes, since he was at heart, in his mind, blood and sould a true Norseman. Some customers looked up as the tall Raider passed them. They found his way of dress interesting, to say the least. The blond hair, pale skin, large musculous build and cold blue eyes belied his Norse heritage, yet they clashed with his clothing. And hairstyle. The hairstyle was especially a false tone in the picture. Everybody, even the biggest simpleton, knows Norse people only have long hair and smell bad! How ignorant the Southerners were in their formation of ideas on foreigners. As they were able to get a full picture of the recent arriver, the surprise of the onlookers didn't cease. They noticed how Eric had tucked in his fine pants in his rough Norse boots. Boots made to withstand ice, snow, salty waters and heavy combat. "Well, that's just wrong" one of the guys muttered and turned his face back to the bar and continued his drink. His mates "ayed" in acknowledgment. Eric scanned the hall for familiar faces, but then decided to head for some mead first. After all, the drinks were free here. He then made his way up the stairs towards the bar in his usual arrogant way of walking. He had started to grew accustomed to his new outfit, which gave him an even cockier attitude than before. Zepher Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Boomingham had spent the night sleeping in front of the fire. After Hoke and he had chatted and dined for a while, sharing stories of quests and battles and the warrior's code, his eyes had slid shut, and he had been off to dream-land. Boomingham had strange dreams since becoming a Paladin. Some nights he had awful nightmares, and some nights he had foggy visions. Barty told him that neither of them were natural. Now he awakes with a start. Hoke is asleep in the mighty chair across from him. Boomingham makes a brave attempt at getting to his feet without setting the chair off in a great creaking argument. He is successful. "Good chairs," Boomingham says to himself under his breath. He scans the Hall and is surprised to see one of his oldest friends, albeit in new get-up. Boomingham saunters over to the bar and orders an early morning drink. He then turns to Eric. "Greetings, stranger," he grins. "What brings you to these parts?" Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Haldor looked up and noticed the tall, muscular Norseman Eric, the epittamy of what the Northaners all aspired to be. But was there more the the strong man's thoughts than what met the eye? He appeared to be dressed in unusual fine clothing with short, slick hair. A strange appearance, vastly different from how he seemed when Haldor had previously met him. Though they both hailed from the same lands, they themselves were different in how they felt about the world. Haldor stood up to meet the fellow Norseman, and maybe discuss the strange happenings in the world. "Har, Eric friend." Haldor greeted him with a few words in their native Northern language. "How has you been well? You look, different, what's with the new guise? Time has passed since we last met, and Jess is well again. So all is good. A while ago, when I was returned from the mysteries of the witch Wren, I trained to become stronger to help my friends and those who need help. I had this peculiar vision, I saw myself in Valhalla, with the feasting and joy. I found Thoric there, he told me to stay strong and trust in my beliefs. It felt real as though I was there. What do you think friend?" Haldor exchanged some more Norse words, before waiting for Eric's answer. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) It all returned to Jess in a flash of light. She was sitting at the table with Haldor, her eyes open. Haldor was passed out, presumably drunk. "Haldor? What happened?" At the sound of his friend's voice, Dyric's head whips around to face Jess. You're awake! You're- how? But- ...This is something that needs to be explained... in backstory. The Dark One, Wren- she... well, I don't pretend to understand her arts, but she did something to you, and you... erm... slept? It was a long time. Haldor and Tensi and I were beginning to lose hope. That Wren... she's nasty. She feeds on the very choas we sweat. We can't let it control us. If we do, then she shall control us. And I've had enough of hierarchy control. Of dark powers in places of position. It's not right. It's not right. Wren, the King... they're all the same. Thriving on our fear. Our dispair. They'll die. They'll all die. Dinuir balac ni pirunir sur'haaise val an! Suddenly, Dyric seems to calm down, blinking rapidly, and looking around. Um... anyways. What was it like for you? Edited March 13, 2012 by The Legonater Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Tesni re-entered the hall, her walking had been a welcome relief from her last quest. Training and meditating in the hills. She sighted her friends. "Hello all, good to see you up again Jess and Eric, you have reached a new class!" She smiled widely. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Helm turns from the quest board and returns to conversing with you. "Interesting, I have never heard of this place. Tell me, where can it be found, and what is it like?" Duplovia is beyond the sea. It is a paradice, and yet a wreck. Many dark secrets are hidden beyond it's glamouring walls. The King is corrupt. Quite. He exiled me for continuing the family business of being a rogue. He executed my father, and prutally killed almost everyone I knew. One survived in secret, and is now in his military. This... this is only the beginning of the horrors I've faced. And yet... sometime... I must go back.I must redeem myself to the corrupt ruler. I... I must return home. The land beckons me. All that I have from there are my clothes and my sword. My brother... he is still in the service of the King. Directly in front of his rath. He hides it well, but it is there. Things... things are happening there. Duplovia has long been at war, but if what my brother tells me through his letters is true, they are coming to a peace... though one which may be even more fragile than war. Only time can tell. UsernameMDM Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hoke awoke wide eyed from this sleep to see an active hall. He enjoyed his evening with Boomingham and was glad to hear the paladin speak from a steady mind. He looked around and it seemed that Jess had snapped out of her Wren induced trance. Haldor was there at her side again, belting out his emotions. “You’re trying too hard,” Hoke muttered as he pulled himself up from the large chair. He popped his neck and rolled his shoulders to loosen up a bit before taking a meal. He noticed Boomingham standing next to a rough character dressed in roguish finery. The scarlet sash seemed to tie it all together. Hoke walked over to them just in time to put his hand on Boomingham’s wrist as he reached for the morning’s ale. “Fair day to you my friends! Lord Boomingham, let’s work up a thirst first before we partake. I would like to test your steel to see if it truly does shine as you say it does in your battles. I have discovered a perfect place to spar in a grove not too far outside the city walls. Care to join us Tesni?" Hoke looks up from Boomingham to the slick haired man. “You look familiar to me, but perhaps we have not been properly introduced. Hoke Ablesword,” Hoke says as he extends his hand towards Boomingham’s companion. Quote

JimBee Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 After leaving the Bonaparte fort, Hybros headed through the backstreets of Eubric. He was in no mood to be dealing with the crowds, and the taste of mead, nostrum, and smelling salts still lingered on his tongue should some street thugs try to steal the gold spilling over the imp's pockets. He headed for the beach first, and found a small cove beyond the shoreline. With shovel in hand, Hybros slowly dug out a hole in the sand, already exhausted from his previous quest. He dropped a sack full of gold into the hole, and covered it up again for later. Hybros then returned to Heroica Hall. At the doors he could hear it bursting with chatter from the other heroes. He very much wanted to find a nook near some trees to sleep in, but needed food even more. He opened the heavy doors with a sigh and stepped in, unnoticed by the crowd. He noted Erdathcath talking to the barmaid, probably about her son. He also spotted Boomingham and a nearly unrecognizable Eric, who appeared much cleaner and tamer since their journey. Not wanting to confront them, Hybros ordered a meal of vegetables and sought out a dark corner of the room where he could sit in peace. He quickly ate his meal sat back in his chair to doze off... Sisco Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Haldor awoke, startled, it appeared that the lack of sleep had caught up with him. He turned his weary eyes to the speaker, and was shocked and relieved to see that whatever curse afflicting Jess had passed, and her shining eyes greeted his. "Jess, you awake! I thought I was never seeing your face lit up with life again. You was gone for long, you not eat or sleep. I tried to get you back, but nothing I could do." Haldor looked sad, but it passed, and he pulled Jess into a tender loving embrace. He gave her back her 13 he owed her. And told her to stay close to him. "I am glad that I seeing your beautiful face again, for you looked so cold." Haldor's face suddenly turned a picture of fury, and his hands balled into fists. "She did it, she made you cold. She will pay for what she done!" Jess listened, her face darkening with every word. "I'm here, hon. I missed you so much! I love you... ...Le cut... Um... anyways. What was it like for you? "I suddenly went blind. I couldn't speak or move. But I could hear every word that was said. I slept intermittently, but kept waking up to darkness. That bitch Wren..." "Hello all, good to see you up again Jess and Eric, you have reached a new class!" Jess' mood brightened considerably at the arrival of her old friend. "Tesni! So good to see you again!" Quote
JimBee Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Greetings Hybros! How have you been since the end of our quest? Gone shopping again? Enjoying the relaxing time? Hybros grunted and opened one eye at the sound of the elf's voice. He had hoped no one would notice him dozing, but that was his own fault for falling asleep in the Hall. "Fine, fine," he said with a yawn. "I see you've gotten some new attire, eheheh. I've heard that you can train with one of the Veterans, become stronger. What sorts of skills are you hoping to learn when you're strong enough?" Shopping... he still had to sell those Hinckwell goods. He remembered what Maurice had said, and wondered if it was the right decision. He wondered if anything he had done was right. Quote
Masked Builder Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Alexis walked into the hall after visiting Ellaria to find it busy with heroes returned from their quests. She picks her way upstairs to the bar and sits next to Jess who seems to have woken up. Mandy flys along next to Alexis and lands on the table. "Hello Jess, it's good to see you awake now. How did your quest go? I alread asked Haldor." She nods to him. "But it sounded like you two split up so I'd like to hear your side of the quest." She says with a smile. Quote
Sisco Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Well, the quest was full of lies, deceit, temptation, and apparently a curse from my old buddy Wren. She tempted me with a heap of gold to let go of Haldor. She lied to me constantly. Always whispering in my ear. Telling me I was better than Haldor. Telling me he wasn't good enough for me. But he is. I believe that Haldor is my match made in Heaven. I love him unconditionally." Quote
Masked Builder Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "It sounds like a fairly standard encounter with Wren if you ask me. I know what you mean, I fell very much the same towards Althior. "I'm here for the free food and drink of course!" he replied as he raised his bottle of mead in the air. He then took another swig before adressing Boomingham. "How have you been, old man?" "Har, Eric friend." Haldor greeted him with a few words in their native Northern language. "How has you been well? You look, different, what's with the new guise? Time has passed since we last met, and Jess is well again. So all is good. "Unfortunately, despite Eubric claiming to be a cosmopolitan city, no true Northern shop can be found here" Eric said sourly. He continued his conversation. "Ah yes, Wren, I remember her. I was once in a Quest involving that witch, too." Eric paused as he thought back of the Quest. The fight in the arena which he had barely won. Like he was empowered with the strength of the great Torrik himself and blessed with the luck of Luko, the trickster god. A chill crept up his spine and despite having Norse company, Eric's mind descended in chaos again. Was it the right thing to turn his back on the gods? He wouldn't completely abandon them of course, just for the time being he justified his course of actions. "I can't really help you with your dream, Haldor. Apparently, it looks as if the Arbiter God has chosen to make you his favoured champion. Your victories in battle will improve Thoric's standing with the other gods in Godheim, the 'Godworld'. Beware, though. The gods are fickle and may choose to abandon you on a whim." Eric's face turned grim when he compared Haldor's experience to his own years ago. He drank the last of his mead to quickly surpress the thoughts. The daze of alcohol eased his mind. As Eric and Haldor were talking, another old familiar stepped into the Hall. Tesni re-entered the hall, her walking had been a welcome relief from her last quest. Training and meditating in the hills. She sighted her friends. "Hello all, good to see you up again Jess and Eric, you have reached a new class!" She smiled widely. "It is good to see you too, Tesni. Well, the class is not entirely new, I'm just picking up on my old profession again. Those were the days..." Eric noticed the amount of people going back and forth towards the Questboard and decided to check it out himself. He went downstairs and noticed there was still an open Quest. He decided not to enter. Some free time would do him good, at least he hoped so. Maybe he could go out in the streets to hone his pickpocketing skills. Keeping the thought in mind, he then went back up to catch up with his friends. He felt especially delighted that Haldor was around. It felt good to speak Norse to a countryman again. Another figure approached the talking Heroes. A familiar and good friend of Boomingham's it appeared. “You look familiar to me, but perhaps we have not been properly introduced. Hoke Ablesword,” Hoke says as he extends his hand towards Boomingham’s companion. "Hälsningar" Eric began, but then became aware of the fact the newcomer wasn't Norse. "Greetings, I mean. Eric continued and grabbed Hoke's hand tightly, underestemating his own brute Barbarian strength. "Eric. No surname, not anymore" Quote
