xxlrocka Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 "That depends I'm afraid I don't know you. Why don't you come keep a weary ogre company and tell me a little about yerself and then we'll talk about investin' in yer venture." Skrall ordered two tankards of ale and sat back as he waited for the knight to make his way over to the table. *Walks over to table* "Well, I'm new here, and I've still done quite alot! My name is drake flamerobe, a local blacksmith who thinks he's ready for adventure! I've only fought in the arena once, and I failed then...which I expected. I had to go to hospital then and I stated in hospital for the whole night. I only have 5 gold and my only weapon is a torch. I do have a shield as defence and only 1 potion, so I don't really have much of a chance in a battle with enemies. So I think that is all I have to tell you." *Tankards arrive, Drake drinks from his tankard* Quote

Regardin' yer euqipment, ya'll survive with what ya've got. I started off in the sewers on my first quest with naught but a potion, smoke bomb, and the strength of my bow. The Legonater Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Skrall looked up and managed a faint smile at the approaching rouge. "Fruitless! That witch is harder to track than a white fox in a blizzard. Even with all my trainin' I still wasn' able to find a single trace, if ya ask me, I think it's part of that chaos magic of hers." Skrall took off his hat and leaned his back against the hall wall. "So what has been keepin' ya occupied since we last seen each other?" Not much, sadly. I nearly got a sharper throwing knife, but it was passed on to Hybros instead. I alos had a brief skirmish in the arena. All in all, it's been fairly boring. Quote

It's in the lower level of the Hall. I'm not sure when it was implemented, however. Basically, two heroes challenegd each other, and they have a three round fight. If someone wins five times, they can get a prize, like potion or tonic. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I walk over to two heroes who appear to be discussing the Arena. I'd be happy to battle you so you can see how it works. Quote

I only have 9 gold at the moment but I would be happy to give you the 9 gold and a potion. What do you say?" "Also would you like to have a practice battle in the arena, I am sure that you want to get used to fighting with a shield." OOC: I realise that I have absolutely no chance of winning but I thought it would be interesting to see how a Warden worked in battle. Edited March 27, 2012 by legobodgers Quote

Skrall glanced up at the approaching individual in green. He sized the bowman up wondering at the sword at his side and the shield on his arm that glistened with an unearthly sheen which seemed to contradict the bow strapped across his back. "I don't think I've had the honor as well. What's with the shield my good fellow?" Skrall observed as another mage approaced the table, "Now hold on a second chap, I don't think a scrap between a magic user and a ranger is a fair fight, no offense to ya," Skrall commented to Docken. He mulled over his ale a moment before setting it down, "No tell ya what, we'll have a bit of an archery contest ourselves in this here arena and then the winner can have his go at this magic user, though I don't see the point of lettin' a spell flinger against an unwarded man." This shield is my pride and joy, forged on distant Salmanda, reshaped incorporating Mythril Ore, and bearing the symbol of the Forestmen. Every Warden needs a decent shield.I'd be happy to take you on first. I, Bartholomew Docken (Brickdoctor), challenge Skrall (Waterbrick Down) to a duel in the Arena! I'm Dyric Rone. Rogue. Well, of sorts. Well met, Master Rone. What, exactly, is a 'Rogue of sorts'? Quote
The Legonater Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Well met, Master Rone. What, exactly, is a 'Rogue of sorts'? Well, it's really more of a family trait, than anything. My family has a long history of serving the royal house of Duplovia as Royal Bodyguards and Investigators. To be fully equipped for these tasks, we secretly trained in rogue-ish ways. Unfortunately, the most recent King- an evil man named Somoril- considers Rogues and anything to do with them an abomination. As soon as he heard of our past, he... ...To put it simple, almost everyone I know was killed in some matter as punishment; including my father and... uh... well, I was then exiled. My only ties to the country now are my brother, Eyric, and my friend Grove. Quote
Zepher Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Boomingham snorts awake at the bar. He starts, sits up, looks around, and is assailed by the vast number of new voices and faces. He is overwhelmed. Clumsily, he lumbers from the bar over to a big, comfy chair, sits down, and closes his eyes. He smacks his lips a few times. Barty whizzes in his normal agitated manner. "I'm not leaving this hall for a good long time," sighs Boomingham happily. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Tesni returned to the hall from the Library, with one thing and another she had been away quite a while. Sorting herself a meal and drink she found a quiet corner and sat down. Cysgodion and Dryw beside her as a warning that she wouldn't take kindly to certain kinds of bothering. Quote
