Scorpiox Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Haldor turned as two knew quests were pinned of the noticeboard. Feeling curious, Haldor took a glance at the second one. He jumped as his eyes passed over the name 'Moranis Szalinski', father of Haldor's secret child's mother and a gnome Haldor had worked for before. It was when Haldor and his friends were shrunken by the inventor on a qust to find his children that it happened. Ameli, Moranis' daughter, was besotted with the tall Norseman, and things happened that Haldor would live to regret. He had exchanged a letter with Ameli a few months after the quest was over and Ameli had given birth to two children, but Ameli's mother seemed to bear a grudge. Maybe by speaking to Moranis could sort it out, and maybe he could see Ameli again and talk without her mother's hand overlooking the conversation. Haldor scrawled his name on Quest #28: The Breakthrough. Quote
Zepher Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Boomingham lurches to the Quest board and looks at the advertisements. He squints when he sees his name on Quest 27. "No no no no. That pompous little angel. He's not signing me up for anymore quests. No. I'm no errand boy." Boomingham crosses his name off of Quest 27. "This on the other hand..." "You need to go on that quest. It's part of the greater plan-" "Stuff it." "Trust me, Lawrence, this errand is important. I see more than you." "Stuff it, Barty." Barty swooshes right up to Boomingham's face. "I want you to do this delivery." "No. This one... this one here. This is the one for me. I am the best of the fair city. I should be there." "First of all, you are not the best of the city, and second of all, you should not be going to a party, you must run this errand." "Parties are connections, Barty. I'm a King without any money and without a kingdom. I'd like to change that." Barty battles Boomingham for the ink, but Boomingham easily signs his name for Quest #28. Quote

xxlrocka Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Eric enters the hall, and walks over to Drake. "I believe the arena is currently being used for an archery competition, but when that's finished, would you like to have a duel?" Oh yes. I was already thinking of having a duel with you but I couldn't find you anywhere. Now you're here, I can accept your request to duel. When the archery competition is done, we go to the arena, you challenge me and I accept the challenge. Ok? Quote

Khorne Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 After a long time of absence Eric returned to the hall once more. His throat was dry and his stomach empty. He made his way to the bar upstairs and dealt with more important things first. He ordered a meal and a pint of mead. As Scheherazade prepared his food, Eric went back downstairs and walked towards the Questboards, to see if anything new and interesting had come up. Reading the first Quest Eric muttered: "what a greedy jackass. The guy owns an entire quarry, but won't even pay us decently to do his dirty work. I'd rather kill myself than be paid in shovels and pickaxes!" He then read the two remaining Quests on the board. "Perilous journey and nice pay, eh? Consider me in!" the Nord said as he wrote his name down for Quest 27. Since he was already holding the quill in his hand, Eric decided to put his name down for Quest 28, as well, even though he didn't quite fit the picture of the people they wanted. The Norse Raider was certainly not representative for the Heroica Guild, nor did he even think him to be a Hero, at least not the Southern pansy kind of hero. Actually, he coudln't care less about science and industry, but the pay was good and he had read Haldor's name listed amongst the other candidates, so why not? Eric then went back up and was glad to see his meal waiting for him. He took a barstool and started eating. Eric signed up for Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger and Quest #28: The Breakthrough. Quote
Sisco Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Jess returned to the hall after a long rest from her ordeal. She noticed she had two cookies in her pack. Vaguely remembering something about increasing health and power, Jess ate both cookies, receiving +1 to health and power. She then signed her name on for quests 27 and 28. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Guts entered the hall. He was a dark figure, his clothes and armour still dusty, from the long time in the cave. A quick look told him that not much had changed, since he had last left. On his way to his usual table (The one in the corner, with view on the door) He saw several heroes he knew the names of, were it through meeting them, or through reports he had read. Along the heroes he saw, were Eric, who looked significantly different since Guts last saw him, Lawrence Boomingham, who Guts had read several reports on, Haldor, the Norseman who had used his name and others. Finally, the rogue reached his table, pleasantly surprised it was empty. After unloading his equipment, installing several fragments of a mirror around the table (so he could see what happened in most of the hall) and ordering a bottle of wine from a serving girl, Guts went down to the Questing Board. After some thought, he decided to scribble his name under two quests. With the usual 'Holla' he signed up for Quest #26 and Quest #27. He then went back up to his table, to slowly get drunk from the fine wine. Quote
Tanma Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 IC: Sunlight pierced De'kra's back as he reached Heroica Hall. The light of the day star still burnt into his mind, crippling him with the more horrific of all emotions. The shade tremored as the light hit him, though he was at a lose as to why. Those who harnessed light in his memories were not particular cruel, save for a villager. Of course that might be the point, that they seemed like good people. De'kra shook his head of these thoughts for the moment, he had something else to do. Rumors claimed that the bright green trader has returned, and De'kra had need of their services. He had neglected one of his weapons too long, it was time for it to be upgraded. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Dak didn't remember how he had gotten back to his room. All he knew was that his head was practically split in half by headache. The sun beat against his closed eyelids, practically forcing them open. As the curtains of sleep drew back from his mind, every pain throughout his body became more sharp, more acute. The pain in his legs, the wounds from the giant crocodile's claws still throbbing. The pain above his right eye was slowly fading, but still hurt. He sat up slowly, and noticed a note, neatly folded, lying conspicuously next to his cot. As he slowly became more aware, he noticed that his shirt was off, and looked at his thin, wiry chest, covered in cuts, bruises, and fresh scars. "Damn it all," he muttered, standing up and looking for his clothes. His cloak was gone, but his satchel was still there. He had no choice but to grab something else, which turned out to be a light grey undershirt and his dark grey jacket. As he grabbed the jacket, the strangest sensation came over him, as if the jacket had meant something to him, or maybe it had to do with the person he couldn't quite remember, the one who had meant so much to him...... He decided to stop there, so as to not pass out again. Finally ready, he opened the note, reading through it quickly. Dak Shadeaux,Ah, how you've grown since I last saw you. Quite the little fighter now, eh? I'm not going to tell you who I am, but I have a job for you, young Dak. Go to the fourth alleyway to the left from Heroica Hall, at sunset tonight. Someone is waiting for you there. He thought about it for a while, but finally stood up, grabbing some gear on the way. "There's a lot of stuff I can do before sunset. Had better get started." He walked down the spiral staircase, the sun shining through the stained-glass windows at his back. He took in the bustling Hall, and immediately saw some people he knew. He decided to talk to Guts first. "Hail, old man. I see you got your wine, eh? Hope you're happy with it. I'm off to the Marketplace, and afterwards I ain't got nothing to do. Care for a rematch in the Arena? I've learned a few things since we last sparred, and this time you won't be so lucky, I think. So, how's about it? Just you and me, settling our differences out the good old-fashioned way; a fight to the death KO." Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Elgar saw the latest quest return, the one his friend tarn was on. Elgar rushed out the door to bump into the Barbarian. After exchanging pleasentries Elgar reminded Tarn of Sir Glorifiedal and hands over 100 gold and a bone to Tarn. Quote

With a couple of empty bottles next to him, and one eye on a new one, Guts answered: "The wine is alright. Not as good as my memory told me it was, but that is often how these things are, aren't they? You call my last victory luck? Where did that attitude come from, kid? I'll fight you, sure, but not to settle differences. I'll fight because you asked, and it is what I am reduced to, a bloody fighter, ready at whim. I'll hop by the marketplace, then I expect you ready at the arena." With a slight but noticable off balance, Guts gets up, and after a moment of regaining that balance, the rogue heads towards the marketplace, with a fast pace. Quote
JimBee Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Hybros noted the new arrivals to the hall. There were many strangers, but among them was De'kra. Hybros approached his friend. "It's been a while, De'kra, heheh... how have you been? Tell me about your most recent quest." Quote
Bioniclover Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Knifk strolls into the Hall, nary a coin to his name, but with an upgraded shield and sword humming with seismic energy. He had been looking forward to a rest, but a Hero's work was never done and the next Quest sign up period was ending tomorrow. He quickly penned his emblem, a dagon's head, onto the sign up list for Quarry Clean-Up. He grimaced, he was getting far to at home underground, it was almost ironic that after living his whole life on the open volcanic plains and deserts of without setting footin any of the dwarves mines he had only participated in Quests within the confines of tunnels and mines during his time at the hall. But duty was duty, and besides, he needed the coin. Quote

Tanma Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Hybros noted the new arrivals to the hall. There were many strangers, but among them was De'kra. Hybros approached his friend. "It's been a while, De'kra, heheh... how have you been? Tell me about your most recent quest." IC: De'kra dipped his head in greeting to Hybros, and clicked, "Things good for I. Employer no manipulate group on quest, and I remember more of I past. I even remember an individual and individual's name. He villager of fire back home, though he elemental power limit to extreme resistance to heat. Kapura was weird among fire villagers, he always move slow. But he had strange power to concentrate on a place he was not, and he would arrive there. He never call it teleportation though. I plan to look for information on him in Library." "Quest not perfect though," De'kra added after a brief pause, "One rogue of group had many glitches in his mind, he head silent voice, lost his memory, regained bulk of his memory, had split personality, and that just what I notice. And other rogue not the best diplomat, from what I see he prefer to kill and steal. I forget how many times he imply he will kill me, that not fun. Death painful enough, I died on Quest 4 and violent emptiness try to rip me apart. I took steps against the emptiness, but I still no want to see void again. But what make that worse is I became very cold to his words. I felt like I no care what he enact or say, and I think I also try to provoke him. It was like different voice spoke for I, though it was just as much I voice as now. I think part of old I resurface then, I could exist very cold in I memories. I not like that feeling." Shaking his head of that De'kra clicked, "How you last quest? I heard you were on Quest 15, it go good? See anything odd? You see a sage call Tomas here?" OOC: De'kra doesn't have multiple personalities and he isn't possessed, his cold side has a different origin. Quote

Deciding against asking, he added "My quest went well. We encountered some strange creatures and technology in Jolly Roger's Grotto, as well as members of the Ji Pei family. I hope to meet them again sometime." Hybros decided to not tell De'kra about how he let Jolly Roger go free. Quote

What they like? You able to describe they technology? Did they seem like fusion of organic life and metal? Can you replicate they accent? They click words too? There we found some strange creatures, like giant spiders and a crystal gobbler that was the cause of the disappearing gems. It is good to be back in the Hall. I hope you fared well in your Quest, and that the town is safe?" Quote

We encountered creatures made solely of metal and the secret that the Ji Pei possess to bring them to life. Monsters of steel, more proficient than any type of soldier I have seen in my years here... and a ship that floated not in the sea, but the sky." Hybros thought of the possibilities of this technology again. Yet, something was bothering him. Something that Maurice had said... armies of steel. He recalled the past of his species, and how they were evicted from the surface world from machines of war. The advanced innovations of humans and other races had collided with the unity of the imps and their environment, and how they skillfully wielded the power of the earth and trees. The two powers seemed to contrast perfectly, in a sort of sick harmony. But were they really equal? Was one right and the other wrong? The lone imp became lost in his thoughts for a moment before realizing that De'kra was looking to him eagerly, for more information. "Eheh, yes, the Ji Pei are very advanced. I don't remember any symbols, but a species known as the aoi, as well as humans, are responsible for the creation of their... technology." Quote

De'kra glanced at Hybros and asked, "You okay?" The shade was still widely unaware of this world's customs, but he knew a distracted mind at the least.
