Cinna looks at the other heroes sitting at her table.

"So do you guys know anything about some sort of pink cloth folks were sending messages with? My pal De'kra here was saying there some messages I may have missed, and something about a book that allows communication from great distances that was sent by a mage name Arthur?"

She looks very puzzled and troubled that she missed something that sounds so interesting, magical, and important.

"if I knew more about this thing, maybe I could find the ones De'kra thinks I should have received."

Alexis comes into the hall and heads up the stairs, Mandy following close behind. She sees some of her friends conversing with a mage she has seen a few times before and decides to head over and introduce herself.

"Hello, my Name is Alexis Fenral, Evoker. I believe Drocken mentioned that you went on his quest with him."

Mandy lands on the back of the chair Alexis is sitting on.

"Hello there. Bartholomew Docken? I do know him, we just got back from questing tog.....is that a Pheonix?"

"Wow, she is so precious. Is it fun to have a companion?" Cinna can't help herself but reach down to touch the creature.

"Hi Mandy, there's a good girl... Does she bite?" suddenly she realizes she should have asked this first but now it is too late to yank her hand back and she hopes for the best.

"Yes I would say it is, she's quite a loveable friend to have around all the time. You never really feel alone."

[No I don't bite] Alexis translates.

"Mandy is quite a friendly creature."

"I'm glad you don't bite, you are such a sweetie Mandy." Cinna smiles and looks back to Alexis.

"Do you know anything about magic letters or books? De'kra was trying to tell me about it, but he doesn't always come through with a lot of ... well details to where I can understand. He did seem to think I should have a book and some letters but I was out on a quest and I don't know how they would have gotten to me."

"Oh, I won't tell anyone." Nur really didn't know what Haldor was talking about. His memory was prone to forgetfulness. Had he heard something on the matter? The defiling of a young lass perhaps? Nur stroked his chin. Oh well... "Hm, yes I shall sign my name after I have eaten. I must admit that science does intimidate me a little." Nur took the offered seat. This Haldor seemed a tad different. He was even more boisterous and eager to fight than the man he had quested with before. Had his friend simply grown or had his woman affected him so? Maybe Nur never really knew the Norseman at all? It was only one quest together... "Who are your friends sitting here?"

"It was a terrible thing, but let us not speak of it now. My friends here are Tesni, as you can see, she's the torso-ripping sort of girl, most of our foes dropped dead before she even got near! Haldor's face changed for a second, into something that resembled his former self, but then Haldor's face quickly lit up again.Over there is Alexis, nice and good-natured, she has a way with animals. And now apparently Dyric, he was with us too, good with a whip, a bit troubled although. When did you last see old Skrall? We had some good times together, purging the wicked and all. I would be damn well awesome to complete the set with all three of us on a quest again."

I try again.

Haldor, old pal! How've you been?

Haldor looked toward Dyric and spoke.

"Hail, Dyric! All is good, don't suppose you've met Nur before eh?"

The Norseman turned and saw De'kra's gaze piercing into him, Haldor felt uncomfortable, as it was impossible to tell what the small Rogue was feeling or thinking. As De'kra looked, he felt something in his bag vibrate violently...

Eric re-entered the Hall. As usual his first stop was the bar, where he ordered another bottle of mead and a meal. Eric took a seat and started eating. Scherehazade sure know how to please a hungry Nord. Her food was delicious.

IC: De'kra noticed that patient zero had started to stare at him in turn. Was it because De'kra was watching him so closely? De'kra did have a flawed grasp of social norms, but from his memories the shade knew that staring at someone intensely was not the best course of action. But De'kra had to watch him, to see if the disease still lingered within the shirtless man. De'kra remembered that Tomas claimed that the plague was necessary, but not all necessary parts of life are good. So De'kra could only keep watching, though he tried to do it more subtly.

*Drake walks out of the saloon, depressed for some reason*

"I need someone to talk to....but I don't know who I can talk to! I have no friends....might never have one until I end up helping someone when I get the person into a dangerous situation."

*Drake sighs*

With his conversation about their respective quests curtailed because of Elgar's success in landing another Quest, Tarn decided to leave the Hall and go to see Ellaria.

The V-Mail system had given him her address, so a few minutes later the lanky Barbarian stood in front of Old Spriggan's Apotechary on Marlin Road, and nervously knocked on the door. An elderly gentleman answered the door, who Tarn assumed was the pharmacist that she had mentioned. Tarn asked for Ellaria and he ushered him up a narrow, creaking staircase into a neatly furnished room.

"Tarn!" cried Ellaria. Tarn gave her a quick hug, and marvelled that he bump wasn't showing. Then Ellaria pulled away, towards a cot that Tarn hadn't initially noticed, and lifted her newborn baby up and cradled her in her arms.

"You've had the baby already? I must've been in that mine longer than I thought!" said Tarn.

"Yes, I was lucky, I had Tesni and Alexis with me," said the Cleric. Tarn amiled, he had gone on his first Quest with all three heroines. "I am glad that you had good friends around you for the birth. I would have given anything to be there too."

"I know, Tarn", said Ellaria quietly. She offered Tarn the chance to hold the baby, and he accepted, gingerly cradling her in one arm. "What's her name?" he asked, in a low voice, as he stroked the infant's cheek.

"Elpis, my speck of hope."

"She's beautiful, like her mother."

Ellaria mumbled a thanks but was clearly uncomfortable with the compliment. Tarn didn't press it. He handed Elpis back to Ellaria, just as the baby let out a loud burp. "Handed her back just in time!" he grinned.

"I have to go now, I need to make us of Elphaba's Magic Wagon before she leaves. You never know when that will be! But it has been great to see you. See both of you!" he said, still taken aback by the fact that Ellaria had had her baby.

He hugged them both carefully, and whispered, "If you need anything, I will be here for you." Ellaria nodded, and smiled. Tarn's heart raced, but he turned and left.

He walked the streets of Eubric, his mind encumbered with thoughts and dreams. He knew he felt something for the young Cleric, but now was not the time to act on it. All he could do was be a good friend to Ellaria, and that was what he intended to do.

This was written with the blessing of Sandy, thanks!

De'kra had turned away now, but Haldor was still nervous to be watched by the cloaked figure. Worse, the object in Haldor's bag was shaking, as though calling out to Haldor. The old voice was back, Haldor's watchful protector. It whispered, 'let me in'. Haldor fought to maintain conrol of his mind against a powerful force, he had good intentions, but how accurate was his judgement after these years? As much as Haldor owed to him, he had been wrong before...

"Ah yes De-kra, I know what you mean. A few weeks ago, there was a Z-mail system that was running, you wrote your letter and then said, "I've got Z-mail," and it was sent to the person you want it to go to. Is that what you where looking for?"

IC: De'kra nodded in interest as he half listened and remarked, "I not familar and word ledder, back home everything was written by machine, or carve on tablets. Closest thing I home had in texture to ledders were capes, and capes were not common."

As he said thia De'kra couldn't help but notice that the shirtless figure was still watching him. zThere was a instensity in the northern's gaze, though he seemed almost confused. Why was patient zero so nervous? Was it because De'kra was immune?

"Oh how interesting. So these letters would just magically find the right person no matter where they are or we're? That is realy neat. A few weeks ago I was really busy digging and fighting in Salamanda. Maybe the letters came to me but I didn't notice because I had no time to rest ."

Cinna quickly clears the plates and mugs from table in front of her. Then she pulls her pack out from under the chair, sts it on the table, and starts pulling things out.

"Maybe they got burried in here like my journal did. I found my journal not long ago. Ungh so much sand. "

"Yes, Drocken mentioned the digging. Maybe I should go through my bag too."

Alexis grabs her bag and starts rummaging around in it and pulls out an aquamarine gem.

"Oops, I almost forgot about this. You know Cinna, being an Evoker, I can summon creatures to fight for me, I haven't tried this gem yet. Want to see what I summon with me?"

Cinna looks up from behind a growing like of stuff and sand.

"Oh yes that sounds wonderful. I've heard of training for becoming an Evoker but not sure if it's the right path for myself. I'm curious what that gem will bring for you. "

Boomingham mumbles in his sleep about his dislike for summons in the hall. The chair he is sitting in looks ready to give way. He has only left it over the course of the last few days to use the bathroom. Food and drink have been delivered to him, and sleep has come easily. "I crave stimulation... mumph... my brain is dead..." he mumbles before settling even deeper into the well worn cushions.

Haldor looked up as Alexis conjured up another creature.

"Good summon Alexis, expertly formed as always. I've never seen one with a way for animals as you, everybody back there seemed more inclined to lop the heads off something before caring for it. Not me although.

Hello Cinna, you speak of sand and deserts. What was it like in that far place that you quested to? No sand home, just snow and ice and roaring wind. Please sit near."

Haldor was finding it hard to fight back the prescence now, he was hoping that speaking to Cinna would provide a great enough distraction to stop himself from being overwhelmed. De'kra was a strange but not bad fellow, Haldor dreaded to think of what he might be forced to do if his guardian saw the mysterious rogue as something to be feared.
