"Thank you, now if only you could tell that to the closed-minded freaks back home. 'Course, to them, different is 'evil'." Arthur snorted derisively. "They're ones to talk, 'specially since most of their elders used to be priests of Zo--" Arthur stopped suddenly, realizing he was talking to a chicken...who had just talked back. "Uh...did someone make me a Ranger while I wasn't looking, or did..." he trailed off, staring at the gem in his hands. He turned back to McCafferey. "Did this gem...somehow...let me talk to you? Or was it...have you ever known Emeralds to be cursed?"

Waves hand cannon in front of Arthur, "I have the Emerald now, remember??"

Being bored again, William plonks himself down next to Arasmyth and Arthur, "Darkness may be the element that affects the most. But it is the most useful element against humanoid enemies as demonstrated by Althior when he took down the necromancer and Davril." "I would kill for an amethyst, too bad Elphaba doesn't carry them."

"You'd kill for one, eh? Be careful, my friend, those with the power of darkness are more likely to kill you than the other way around, ha ha!"

Waves hand cannon in front of Arthur, "I have the Emerald now, remember??"

"Yes, but I was the first to touch it. You have too...and you may be under the same curse. Of course, the curse could turn out to be benign, but then again, given De'kra's reaction to my story..." He returned his gaze to De'kra, who still didn't seem right... "De'kra, is something wrong? Have I unleashed some sort of Elven curse upon Eubric?" he asked worriedly.

Atramor glances irritably at Arasmyth, and just blankly at William when he sat nearby. McCafferey ruffled her wings slightly as Arthur spoke.

"No. My master,-" she began, with nasty emphasis on the word. "-has finally decided to start heeding my suggestions...less temperment for me means more talking than obliterating others. Do not think so highly of your elders and whatever deity they may worship. The minds of most mortals are simply too narrow to accept things they way they are, and thus you have gods and other divine beings...manifestations of things one cannot understand."

The Witch grumbled at his chicken, cutting her off and addressing the young mage himself.

"Don't think too hard on what she says. Damn strange thing..." he trails off, thinking once again of McCafferey the simple chicken companion. Nothing could be taken at face value anymore, it seemed.

IC: De'kra's extra eyes faded, and he slowly go his feet. "Greetings Arthur," he clicked cheerfully, "I got you message. I glad to hear that war over, though I hear that it has fallout like Quest 4. Hopefully I advice helpful to you on quest. Interesting that there three quests to Dastan, you think there reason for it? It just seem odd that three teams leave Uland at same time to go to same country. By the way, I was think, could you and I use books to coordinate each group of heroes, so they exist not in conflict? Also, why was I on ground? I not die again, right?"

Glancing at the nearby discussion De'kra clicked, "Light not equal good either, sometimes light people assume they moral superiority, and that they allow to treat others like dirt...I think I remember good person of dark, though I think he die when he try to stop...something. Something...bad. Something like...oh." A shadow seemed to appear over De'kra, and his posture grew slightly more tense.

OOC: sorry, I was watching AMV's.

"Are you referring to the 'grandfather' you spoke of a moment ago? You said some strange things..."

"Aura, if you wish to be of any better assistant to your master, perhaps learn some skills or provide moral support rather than annoyance and sarcastic comments."

"I'm not the one calling my master pathetic and turning him into a murderer, chicky." :hmpf:

"Jeez Finnegan, stop speaking to the chicken! You're not a ranger. Am I the only sane one here?" Althior walked over to Arthur. "How are you, Arthur? Get that Amethyst out of your staff yet?"

"Manipulation is a skill. You would be surprised how much doing what I am may help in the long run."

Atramor glares at McCafferey.

"Finnegan? Stop trying to roll your eyes, you don't have any, face it."

IC: De'kra's skin began to glow with lights once more, and he started to collapse. As he hit the ground he muttered in the strange voice, "Nothing ever truly dies, save those who are betrayed."

Time passed, and eventually De'kra got back to his feet. "Greetings Arthur," he clicked cheerfully, "I got you message. I glad to hear that war over, though I hear that it has fallout like Quest 4. OOC: [sarcasm]It is almost like there is a pattern to De'kra's episodes, but where? Where could the pattern be...[/sarcasm]

Alexandre looks to the side, seeing another hero stand slightly out of the conversation. He recognizes the new hero in Quest 17. "Hello, Helm right?" The knight asks.

Well rested and fed, the trickster Loki returns to find the hall very much alive with the hustle and bustle of heroes. Always interested in making new acquaintances, Loki strides forth, pausing a moment to observe a man talking to a chicken, towards a knight and barbarian in conversation "hello dear friends, it seems as though you mortals are always doing strange things such as talking to chickens, I am a bit confused by this but none the less intrigued by these seemingly ordinary customs. Anyway how goes these adventures quests I am hearing so much about?"

She turned her heads towards Mandy now.

"Indeed. Just the usual mortal humanoids rabbling about for gold and power, I'm afraid. Luckily this next one will be a much more worthy venture...perhaps our paths will cross in Dastan."

Atramor merely watched his chicken, rather bewildered at her sudden talkativeness.

[Hm, that does seem to be the root of all human trouble. Ah yes, I overheard Alexis and Althior talking about this Dastan place. Time will tell.]

"Hello," Alexandre greets the newcomer. T"here are lots of quest going to Dastan, I'm sure you heard. I'm a Lion Knight supporter. I refuse to go on a quest that fights them. Hopefully I get chosen to fight with them like the last quest I was one. It was fun. And yes, talking to chickens is strange."

Cronk think that there may be something in friend Skrall that surprise even Skrall's self. Not every being knows plan for self. Cronk certainly didn't know what Ennoc had in store for Cronk. Cronk not even know about Ennoc.

Cronk in no hurry for gold. Skrall can pay Cronk when Skrall has the gold. Meanwhile Cronk cannot use crossbow, so Skrall can go ahead and take it for now. Cronk think Cronk can tell that Skrall can be trusted and hope that crossbow serves Skrall well on Skrall's next quest.

Skrall accepted the crossbow from Cronk admiring its sturdy craftsmanship, whomever had been its previous owner obviously possessed more strength than the average man, half-giant perhaps. "Thank you Cronk, I'll make sure I put it to good use and pay ya back from my next quest. You'll have to meet my little Irksall one of these days, yer just the type of chap she's always fantasized about. My little princess trapped in an ogre's life." Skrall sighed to himself. "So have ya taken the opportunity to sign up fer one of the quests travelin' to Dastan?"

Cronk hopes Skrall is successful with new bow.

Cronk find real princess once, but it is long story. Sad ending for Cronk. Thinking of it still make Cronk little sad...

Cronk is still deciding about quests. Cronk think Cronk will sign up but there is still some time. Cronk does need to travel to marketplace soon to make sure Cronk properly equipped for next quest, whichever one Cronk can get in. Speaking of which, Cronk will be back shortly.

"De'kra...this is the third time you've said this exact same thing to me..." He shoots glances all over the hall, looking to see if that thing was around, and doing this to De'kra...but he saw nothing. He held up his amethyst, looked at De'kra...held up the Amethyst, looked at De'kra...

"This being," he continued hesitantly, "you go all funny and then forget we've even spoken whenever I mention him. The being...he's not...you...somehow...is he?" He saw the shade's eyes flicker, and decided to take the risk; snatching his still-wrapped staff, he channeled the power of his Amethyst through it. The paper disintegrated, and the solid black staff began to glow violet. His energy built, and built, until he unleashed a bolt of pure darkness at De'kra, striking the diminuitive shade in the chest. As De'kra hit the floor, he hoped his theory was right, and that the blast had not done any lasting damage...

IC: A short while passed before De'kra woke up on the floor, panting heavily despite his lack of a respiratory system. As De'kra got up he managed to glare at Arthur despite his lachk of expression. "No kill I," he said firmly, "It hits more than Karzahni. And if you stop slave work in Karzahni, you body turn to stone. Where that come from anyway? It not about that god thing right?"

OOC: hooray, we finally have an image of De'kra in the hall. Of course, I am remaking his image soon. Curse you cruel fate, and you too space police 3!

"Oh, does anyone want to have a drinking contest ?" asked Mizuki.

"Arthur? What are you doing? Fighting is for the arena, not here! Don't be flinging spells around the hall," Althior turned his back on his apprentice, completely unaware of what he was trying to do.

Erik realises his name under quest 31 has somehow smudged off, so he re-writes it again.

Erik signs up for Quest 31: Lions and Lambs

I did sign up on page 251, but its not on the list of heroes signed up on page 254.

Apologies if this is for a reason, but I thought I should check.

Drake noticed the new hero walking around and so he walked over to him. Drake had a slightly angry look on his face as he crept behind the mage and suddenly he grabbed his torch and hit the mage hard in the back with the bottom end of his torch. Then Drake ran away so as to not be caught and waited to see what the mage's reaction was.

Speaking of which, anyone want to duel in the arena?

"I'll challenge you."
