"That's good. I'm a nice cleric too, as I'm sure you can tell."

"Perhaps, once you start experiencing life as a hero, you may start thinking differently, young one."

"You speak truth. Unfortunatly, the young man has no experience in battle as does not yet know the necessity of clerics...and...um...mages... I'm sure with a bit of experience he will learn the power of ether wielded correctly.

"I hope you are correct, friend."

"Honestly, I don't even believe myself entirely. These rogues...they never change. Let me tell you: rogues are the scum of heroica!"

I drop my voice a little so that, hopefully, the two rogues don't hear.

Lycan draws his sword walks over to Pretzel and says: " Wanna repeat that ya dumb monk? Tell me why I shouldn't shove this very powerful weapon inside you? Or perhaps this should be in the arena? "

"Yes, I would like to repeat it: Rogues are the scum of heroica. There. You have it. Why shouldn't you fight me? Because you are weaker than I am and wouldn't be able to defeat me in the arena. Besides, I have fought a lot more battles than you have and know how to defeat enemies such as yourself with ease."

In the Arena Experience does not matter. It is the power of your weapon." He says. Lycian sheaths his sword, and kicks Pretzel straight in the stomuch. "You call me scum? Look at yourself! You don't know why I am a Rogue. But if you are a great fighter as you claim to be, you would take me down for insulting your honor. Perhaps destroying your cart would be a start!"

Lycian then turns to the Aeromancer. " I never said magic was evil, I said the Ziegfrieds were and that THEIR magic was evil."

" I could take you in one hit , old man!" He says to the monk.

"Um...a person who has fought more battles will always have a better eye for warfare. I'm sorry that your attempted kick at me instead hit the table before which I set. You must be in pain. Would you like me to heal you? I will if you buy me a tonic. Honour is not as important as people make it out to be. A man cannot survive with honour alone. Honour is a worthless cause that leads men to their death for no reason. It stems from pride which is never a good thing. Pride is the greatest enemy to true heroism ever. Heroism is unselfish. It's caring for others who are less fortunate than yourself, unlike you who rob from the poor and rich alike to feed your money-hungering appetite. Pride is selfish. Pride is esteeming yourself greater than all around you, or attempting to. It is, as I said, the greatest enemy of heroism. No, I will not defend my honour. As a monk, I do not believe in fighting idle battles for the sake of sport or, as you put it, honour. It is a worthless passtime at best.

Now, you cannot just say that the Ziegfrieds are evil. Who are you to claim such a thing so adamently. How can we say that you are not evil and attempting to paint the Ziegfrieds in a less than noble light?

And no, I am quite certain that you wouldn't be able to take me in one blow, scum."

As I say all these things, I inconspicuously away from the hot-headed rogue.

" If, that is your opinion, so be it. I admire someone who has a view that none can change. What is your opinion on those who wield weapons imbued with darkness? I for one despise the for going against humanity. Especially that Warden. He is ruining Heroica. Trains to be part knigh, but does not even have a shield? "

"By 'warden' do you mean Benji the Hunter. If anything he should be called Benji the Hunted. I went on a quest with that warden. He was our party's leader. Didn't do too good a job of it. Disappeared a couple of times when things got tough, usually with the female member of our party. Suspicious fellow and full of pride as well. I don't see how he is 'ruining Heroica' as you put it, but you are free to think as you will until it becomes your time to be judged of God.

I do not at all agree with those who use the powers of darkness in warfare. I think the evil will work danger against them. They will be brought down by the very darkness with which they wield, I am sorry to say. I agree with you on that point, rogue. Perhaps, you are not as bad a person as I may have at first thought."

"You call that powerful?" Alisha says, thumping the butt of her greataxe on Lycan's head, nearly knocking the poor fellow out. "This is powerful, not that."

"Yes, I would like to repeat it: Rogues are the scum of heroica. There. You have it. Why shouldn't you fight me? Because you are weaker than I am and wouldn't be able to defeat me in the arena. "Although it pains me greatly to speak it, for once Pretzel's right. He might be a jackass, but you can't beat him. Not yet, anyway."

"Okay, that's it!" Alisha gets up and grabs Pretzel by the hood and Lycan by the hair, and cracks their skulls together, making a loud sound.

Lycian dodges the axe. " And who are you?" Lycan says. He then avoids getting picked up "And where is this axe you speak of? I only see 2swords in your inventory. "

He then looks at pretzel and asks " Are you okay? Shall I get help? "

Lycan looks at the supposed 'woman' and says " I heard of the quest. I read the records in the library, half the time you weren't even there. You disappoint me."

OOC: Megablocks, forgot to put that axe in there and take out the swords....

IC: "Disappointed in me?" Alisha laughs. "This is rich, coming from someone who somehow manages to hate people he's never met, let alone knows."

"Oh? The Ziegfreids are one of the six houses in Eubric, and although they are by no means infallible, they are the closest thing we have to order in this cesspool of anarchy. N addition, they're currently working to eradicate the ancient demon Abraxas, a being who is truly evil. How, in any way, is this villainous?"

"What is wrong with necromancers? Stereotyping gets us no where, stereotyping orcs has not helped us 1 bit/"

Helm stepped out of the corner where he had been descreetly listening to the conversation. "Things that are or were dead should be left dead. The past is past, those that like to literally dig it up and breath fresh breath into it are ignorant or arrogant fools that usually end up being destroyed by their own works. Orcs are sentient being that are born and die just like us, but undead are not natural creatures and should not be treated as such. If I ever see an necromancer I will first bury my sword in its neck and stop to ask whether he might have been a good and noble person later."

"Sometimes, if done responibly, bringing back the dead can help. For example to solve unsolved crimes or if it ventures into the relm of magic"

Helm sneered. "Oh, good idea. Lets ask an unnaturally born creature that hates the living who killed it. Do you really expect it to be all sunshine and roses and be helpful enough to actually say who murdered it. A bitter and cruel creature will do bitter and cruel things. It would be as likely to say the name of innocent parties as those of their real killer. And as for venturing into the realms of magic, you really think it would be wise to give a slavering beast magical powers? You are an idiot."

"Necromancy is a foul and distasteful school of magic, and those who practice it are fools who abuse the Ether. As for the barbarian's assessment of your mental prowess, I find myself in hearty agreement with him."

"What was you party like?"

"Well, you've already met myself, Daxus, Benji, and now Alisha as well. That was our party. Oh, and there was one knight who left heroic in pursuit of some fantasy...funny fellow. He kind of reminds me of you for some reason. I almost felt like our mission was bound to fail. Benji was disappeared in the face of battle often, as I must have mentioned before, with Alisha. A sorry lot they are. Alisha was a nuisance as well. I don't even know why they rewarded her at the end with that great battleaxe. I guess Benji awarded it to her for the "services" she provided him with. Daxus was useless althroughout. Instead of fighting, he went around picking people's purses. It infuriated me but even when I rebuked him for it, he kept right on at it. We fought a lot of undead, and it was incredible to see Alisha and Daxus sitting idly by while only the few of us fought against them. There was one particular demon that was a real struggle, but Benji and I defeated it in the end. The last member of our party was a knight named Leo Aragon, as I mentioned, I believe. He was an odd fellow. Argued obstinately about religion which he seemed to know little to nothing about, but all the same, I am not one to talk bad of others."

"Although it pains me greatly to speak it, for once Pretzel's right. He might be a jackass, but you can't beat him. Not yet, anyway."

"More like he could take you in one hit. And I could take you in less."

"Wow, Alisha, I never thought you'd stick up for me. Maybe there is still hope for you after all, but I'm not counting on it."

He then looks at pretzel and asks " Are you okay? Shall I get help? "

Lycan looks at the supposed 'woman' and says " I heard of the quest. I read the records in the library, half the time you weren't even there. You disappoint me."

"No, I'm quite fine. Alisha just picked up my cloak with me not in it. She's drunk, I think she always is, so she didn't realize," I whisper. "I'd rather that she doesn't still now, otherwise she may try again."

IC: "Disappointed in me?" Alisha laughs. "This is rich, coming from someone who somehow manages to hate people he's never met, let alone knows."

"I'm sure almost every lewd fellow in this hall knows you, scripturally speaking, Alisha. I'm sure some whom you would not even remember. That is just one of the many losses that promiscuity brings with it."

I turn back to the elf, as he begins talking again.

"That is not a bad thing at all. The world would be far better off without such demons. I do hope they succed in this."

"It is mY opinion. I have heard dark tales of Ziegfried necromancers."

"I do not thing you should lump the whole Ziegfried house in with the few necromancers there may be therein."

"What is wrong with necromancers? Stereotyping gets us no where, stereotyping orcs has not helped us 1 bit/"

"What is wrong with necromancers? Beware ranger, do not allow yourself to become passive to such evils. You remind me very much of my party leader: Benji. I pray you do not become like him or worse."

Helm stepped out of the corner where he had been descreetly listening to the conversation. "Things that are or were dead should be left dead. The past is past, those that like to literally dig it up and breath fresh breath into it are ignorant or arrogant fools that usually end up being destroyed by their own works. If I ever see an necromancer I will first bury my sword in its neck and stop to ask whether he might have been a good and noble person later."

"It is most rude to enter into a conversation uninvited, but because what you said suits me, I will forgive you this once. It is a very wise approach you take to dealing with necromancers. They should not be tolerated at all costs and I pray that I need not run into any whilst here at Eubric."

"Sometimes, if done responibly, bringing back the dead can help. For example to solve unsolved crimes or if it ventures into the relm of magic"

"Young man, you have a queer fascination for dark things. I implore you to forsake this yearning for the dark side and look instead to the powers of light. Darkness cannot dwell where light is for darkness has no power, it is only the absence of power, which is the light. If you forfeit your hold to the power of light and life, then you leave room for any vile demons and spirits to have their way with not only your soul and mind, but even your body. Beware, young man! Beware!"

"Necromancy is a foul and distasteful school of magic, and those who practice it are fools who abuse the Ether. As for the barbarian's assessment of your mental prowess, I find myself in hearty agreement with him."

"Once again, I agree with you, Mage. Ether must not be abused in such an evil fashion."

"I was not saying Necromany is good, am just saying not all necromancers are evil, many just want lost loved ones. I do not condone it or think it is evil, I am neutral. And I will have you know I am a follower of Ennoc, like I have Ben since my quest for the Paldin order."
