Endgame Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 After a bitter night of fueding, I sit down with a scrap of paper, quill, and inkwell - ironically manufactured by the Hinckwells. Sleeping in the bedroll, although nice in a pinch, was not a permanent form of bedding for me. My house was in Waldurk, and unless a Ziegfried got teleportation down pat, that is out of the question. I dip my quill and begin to draw schematics for a small cabin. "...Where in the world am I getting funding for this?" i realize, holding up my cottage measurements quizacally. Quote

I started this a long time ago. Johon returns from his house, which had done fairly well in the weather while he was gone. He and some friends had started building the walls and second floor. When he walks back into the hall, he sees sorrow making some plans for a home too. "Would you want to help me? I could use some help and I could probably share the house with some friends. I have some funding for my house from some of my pals, and I can gather a lot of wood. You could stay at my place when it's ready." Quote

Johon leads Sorrow outside. They walk around the hall some, and then go around a corner and see Johon's dragon, Ethelim. (No, this is not some new role-playing npc that I just made up, this was a while ago) Johon passes Sorrow some ropes with legging, clearly for a ride. "You ever flown a dragon?" Johon says as he straps himself onto Ethelim's back saddle. Quote

Spending years in a forest where there were werewolves and killer bats does this to you. "You find this on one of your spelunking trips or quests?" I say, grabbing the ropes. "I assume that I just hold on and let the dragon take me to the destination." Quote

"I found him after my second quest, when I found this..." Johon holds up the strange almost spherical glassy object. "...I followed the way it pointed, and found Ethelim. We seem to have a strong connection, I don't know what it is, but ever since I found him... I don't know, I guess I was meant to find him. I don't know why, but I just have a feeling." Johon helps Sorrow up, and straps him in. "Yes, hold on, real tight. Here we go!" Ethelim jumps into the air and takes flight, Johon and Sorrow holding on tight. Air rushes past their faces, and soon they can see a wonderful view of Eubric. Quote
xxlrocka Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Drake woke up from a long sleep. The first thing he saw was a giant blue dragon, as beautiful as a young princess. He saw Sorrow and Johon riding it. He stood up and started following the dragon. Quote
Endgame Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I trun to Johon. "Now THIS is a steed. But one must wonder what goes through Drake's head - we're hundreds of fet in the air and are moving faster than a barbarian can get drunk, yet he follows us still." Quote
Poison Ivy Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 "Oh, shut the (censored for your mind's benefit) up, people. Someone's trying to get some rest around here," Alisha mutters, head on the table. She sees, through half-lidded eyes, the idiot what's-his-name-can't-cook-bear walking out of the hall with some undead hero, and mutters some more curse words under her breath, some of which she had learned from a mentor of hers. This man (well, he wasn't really a man, more of a squid) could make you go mad with one word (Trust us, he lost friends fast). She was the only one who could listen to him for more than a few seconds, and she had picked up a few curses in his language. If anyone in the hall had heard them, they would promptly fall dead on the spot. Luckily, she didn't think anyone had. Maybe that would be a good way to get rid of Pretzel, she thought, falling into a deep sleep and dreaming of killing all the idiots in the hall, a vicious smile coming across her face. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Johon drives Ethelim into a dive, nearing the ground. Sorrow and Johon's capes thrash back and forth, and they find it harder to hold on. The spin around, and do twirls. "I don't know!" Johon shouts over the rushing wind. "Who knows, maybe we'll see him at my place soon!" Johon shouts as they make a final dive close to a lake. Johon pulls a rope that 'safely' unstraps him. Sorrow stares in disbelief as Johon passes him the reigns, and then swings off the dragon's side! He lands in the lake at full force and rolls downward and sideways into the water, then he returns to the surface and swims to the side. Ethelim lands near the house and Sorrow gets off. Johon meets up with Sorrow and Johon tosses Sorrow some tools, then hey go to work. After participating in small talk for almost and hour, Drake can be seen passing over a hill, huffing and puffing. When he sees us, he stops to catch his breath. Quote

xxlrocka Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Drake huffed and puffed, out of breath from all the running he had done. Chasing the dragon was not easy, for it was faster than any man in the world. Drake had lost it a couple of times, but now he had finally caught up to it. He looked over the hill he was standing on and he saw Johon and Sorrow, working and chatting. "I was probably lucky..." Drake whispered to himself. He crept over the other hills and hid behind a massive hill so he could spy on Johon and Sorrow without being seen. He just really wanted to know where they were and now he wanted to know what they were doing. He crouched on a wet spot on the hill when the wet spot collapsed beneath him, revealing a secret cave! Drake climbed into the secret cave, put all the bits of the wet spot back together and he put the wet spot back in position so nobody would notice. Drake then peered through a small hole in the cave which nobody would notice from the outside, and he watched Johon and Sorrow. Quote
Kadabra Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 "How on earth did you get me here, with my cart and all?" I query still uncertain. "I pushed the cart with Wind magic while I guided you over. You were like a drunkard, the way you stumbled about." Arasmyth chuckles. "Let's head back to the hall, shall we?" Quote
Palathadric Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 "I do tend to sleep too deeply, don't I? When I was at the Monastary at Trencyl I was forced to leave because I wouldn't wake up when they rung the bell for morning prayers." Quote

Palathadric Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Fume! ..."Let's go to the hall." I roll up my bedroll and place it in my cart. Exiting the room, I trundle down the hall. Quote
Endgame Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 With tools and longsword in hand, I get to work. Instead of working on the main structure of the building, I chop away at wood with my sword, dicing planks to make furnishings. I turn to Johon, also hammering away. "Neat trick you pulled with the dragon, though I'm not sure it was a good idea in retrospect. Did it hur- NNRRKK!" The hand wound from my quest had deepened and splurted blood. I wasn't paying enough attention while talking to Johhon, and stabbed myself in the hand. Suddnly, my unstabbed arm springs into action, ripping off a piece of my seeemingly endless cloak and wrapping it around my hand to cover the bleeding extremely fast. "Do not fear, Syntax is here... idiot! You talk, I'll work. With my hand repaired and Syntax doing the dirty work, I resume conversation with Johon. Syntax's work ethic was far better then mine, and he was working at a visibly breakneck pace. Apparently 2 personalities can control different sections of the body. "Speak of the devil. 428 years dead and am still hopelessly oblivious." I give a small smile. Quote

Johon rushes over to Sorrow, and raps some cloth around the wound. He them gets up and rushes to the forest. "Just a minute, I know some good plants for these cuts!" About 2 minutes later, Johon returns with some leaves and various roots. He mixes them in a bottle and wipes it over the cut. Sorrow holds his breath in pain, but it soon passes. Johon picks up and examines Sorrow's dagger, then sighs. "You should use a different tool for this job, this dulls your blades badly. I can fix some minor flaws like this, but use this." Johon passes Sorrow his Whittling Knife, then takes Sorrows blade to go sharpen it with some sharp rocks and his tools. Quote

xxlrocka Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Drake soon got bored of what was happening, so he escaped from the hidden cave and sneaked over to the blue dragon. He slowly and quietly climbed onto it and he ordered it to go to the hall in the most quiet way possible, in a quiet voice. And it started. A journey Drake would never forget. Drake gripped onto the dragon as it twirled and twisted and turned in the fluffy, white clouds. Drake even got to touch one. Eventually, he arrived at the hall, told the dragon to fly back to Johon and Sorrow and Drake watched as the dragon sped off at a tremendous speed towards the sky. Drake then entered the hall and when up to the saloon for some beer. Quote

Drake somehow knew how to fly a dragon, and whirls off into the fluffy clouds, apparently trailing us previously. However, I do not see why we should take it to the arena. I must fetch the town watch. If a robber is in our midst, it is there responsibility to rout him out and take him to prison. So long, Drake!"
