Costy Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Don't call the man who was going to give you 110 gold worth of loot prick, Nagure. "You were going to but you didn't, so now I don't like you." "Now, you drunkards, any of you up for a game of cards?" I pull out a weathered deck of waldurkian cards. They are 418 years old but still in relatively great condition, remarkably. "Sure, I've got nothing better to do," I say as I drink another mug of beer. Quote
Endgame Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) "Why would I pay you for a service you didn't do? Anyway..." I shuffle the cards. "Heres the rules for Waldurk Roulette -A play order is decided alphabetically (by first names) -Every player is given a hand of 7 cards, numbered 1 through 7 -Players place down 1 card every round -Player who places highest numbered card gets a point -Every turn the hands are handed down the order. So, if the order was Alfred Bob Cahill Alfred would give his hand to Bob, Bob to Cahill, and Cahill to Alfred -Strategically place cards to manipulate the hand swaps to your advantage -Game ends when all cards are placed -In case of tie, both people get a point -Person with highest amount of points wins! "...However, you need atleast 3 to play this game. Erik, Drake... you playing?" Edited June 12, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I roll my eyes as Sorrow tries to get the barbarians to participate in a card-game with him. "Witch's game!" I snarl. I then notice a shady character slipping out of the hall. "God save us! Have we another of those undead monsters? Is not two enough!" Quote

How is that demonic in the slightest?! Either way, if I truly must prove this is not a game for damons and heretics, why don't you sit down for a hand? It's actually a game that harkens back to the culture of Waldurk and Ennoc." Quote
Palathadric Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 "You cannot tempt me, evil one, with your cards of witchcraft and deviltry. They are but a witness against you and you are too blind to even notice or rather, you are attempting to make us think that you do not notice while you seep your poison into the minds of those who follow you. No, I will not play with your cards. He that tinkers with the works of devils will surely burn with them in the end." Quote

No, I will not play with your cards. He that tinkers with the works of devils will surely burn with them in the end." "I read the questbook of the quest you were in. There were some undead enemies that we also not demons. So please, your stereotyping has gotten to the point of being offensive - by even my standards. Not to mention that the only thing seeping into these heroes' brains is alchohol, which I am against. I punctuate my last point by holding up my glass of water. Although I do have a finesse for gambling, it's not exactly the work of the devils you resent so much." Quote
Palathadric Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 "I am beginning to wonder if you are just utterly ignorant to whom you are and what you're dealing with. Either that or you're the slyest demon I've ever known to have existed." Quote

Either that or you're the slyest demon I've ever known to have existed." "I am a 6 month old child who burned to death and was revived by a caring group of necromancers - who sought to undo criminal works, not raise an army of undead. I have since overstayed my welcome on this planet, wandering around until I enlisted here. I am now dealing with dealing cards. I know myself far better then you." Quote
Myrddyn Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Erik leaps up, and swings a punch at Syntax. Unfortunately, in his drunken state, he misses, and falls out the window. He lands in a puddle of water, and this, combined with his natural barbaric healing abilities, is enough to mostly sober him up. He re-enters the hall through the door, and crosses over to Syntax and Nagure. "Alright, I'll play your card-game, Syntax. Where has Sorrow gotten to? He's much nicer than you." "Oh, and it probably would be your fault, if only I could remember what I was talking about. Where do you get off anyway, appointing yourself judge and executioner of everyone?" Edited June 13, 2012 by Myrddyn Quote
xxlrocka Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 "A card game? Who's playing?" Asked Drake. Drake then walked out of the hall, deliberately bumping into Pretzel on the way. He disappeared into the foggy nights of Eubric, not to be seen until morning. Quote
Tachyon Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Mizuki drunkenly walks up to Erik and Sorrow/Syntax and says "I'm gonna play." Then she notices Nagure and says "Drink some of this alcohol" while putting a bottle and 4 glasses on the table. Quote
Myrddyn Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 "Ah, hello, Mizuki! Alchohol tastes much better with friends!" Erik glares at Syntax. "And enemies. But best with just friends. So give Sorrow back, please." Quote
Costy Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 "And enemies. But best with just friends. So give Sorrow back, please." "Does anyone know if you can cure split personalities with repeated head bashing? I think we should give it a try, maybe on Drake first so we don't damage Sorrow if it goes wrong. If that doesn't work, lets chuck some of this beer in his water." Quote
Tachyon Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Mizuki swigs down a glass and shouts to Drake "Get a friend in this hall, you seem to always annoy people" before pouring herself another glass. Quote
Endgame Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 "Please don't assault me if you know you're drunk. It'll end badly for you, because I'm as sober as ever. And nagure, alchohol tends to give me heart attacks. So, in other words, put alchohol in my mug, and I'll have to kill you. Either way, fine, fine. You can "have Sorrow" back. We take shifts, fyi." I suddenly feel my entire body go numb. I jolt out of my dormant state, to see Syntax has lef tthe body for me. "Hllo, Erik. How much did Syntax piss you off this time? Either way, lets play." Turn Order Erik Mizuki Nagure Sorrow Erik's hand 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Mizuki's Hand 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Nagure's hand 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 My hand 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 "I'll admit something: back when syntax didn't exist, I always had a niggling gambling addiction. Unfortunately, when Syntax came, he had none of my better traits to balance his, and has a huge craving for gambling since. He probably would've swindled you while you were drunk." I shrug "Place your cards people. erik, you first." Quote
Myrddyn Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) "Huh. I'll go 5." Erik puts down his card numbered 5. "Nice to have you back, Sorrow. The answer to your question is, as always, lots." Edited June 13, 2012 by Myrddyn Quote

"Please forgive him... to an extent. He inherited all my phobias as well, and I had more phobias and worries then Drake has swigs of booze. It drives him insane. Even right now he is ranting and raving in some dark corner in my mind, if that makes sense. I feel hes using my more undesirable triats from before the split to mask something far more... vulnerable." A chill goes up my spine, but I simply shrug. Quote
Sandy Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 ~A new quest pitch has been posted on the Quest Board (#36 by Endgame)! Sloop's quest has been postponed until I hear back from him.~ Quote
Palathadric Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I see a new quest being posted on the quest board and rush over to look at it. As it turns out, it is only a notice saying that the quest I had previously signed up for was not to be continuing for the time. As I despair, someone rushes into the hall and posts up a new quest. Before reading the description, I sign my name up under it. I, Monk Pretzel and My 99 Pieces sign up for Quest #36: The Voracious Vault. I then read the quest pitch: Hmm, for some reason the writing and reminds me an awful lot of that demon in the hall. I hope we won't be meeting anymore demons on this quest. They are asking for a healer, it seems like I'm the perfect one for this quest then, eh? I wonder if this man killed his father and God Himself sent those beasts to prevent him from succeeding in looting the dead man's treasure. I shake my head. Quote

LEGOman273 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) *I stumble out of my room, rubbing my head. I notice a new Quest on the Questboard. I sign up for Quest #36. Costy Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I stumble drunkenly over to the quest board and scribble something that looks like my name underneath Quest 36. "Killing vermin? This sounds like fun," I say to no one in particular. Quote

Erik signs up for Quest #36: The Voracious Vault. "Ooh, Vermin. I hope I don't meet Syntax." "I'm not going on the quest, and unless Syntax finds a way to magically possess a body, you won't be seeing him, either. Though I think "vermin" is figurative... one does not hire heroes to kill rats and bats when a novice exterminator can do the same. Whatever the hell is in that vault, I think it'll be a bit more powerful and intimidating then a rat." I look impatiently towards Mizuki, who is sipping hot chocolate. "Your move, Mizuki! You really gotta give me directions to where ever you get that cocoa sometime... " Quote
Tachyon Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Mizuki throws the card numbered 6 and sprints to the questboard where she sighs her name under Quest #36: The Voracious Vault. Quote
