Heroica RPG - Heroica Hall

I hand 250 Gold each to Lawrence, Jess, Haldor, and Nur, keeping the final 250 Gold for myself.

En Sabah Nur lumbered up the Hall stairs. He'd yet to adapt to the additional weight on his left side. He ordered a hot cocoa and bit of roasted chicken. Nur collected his money from Docken before returning to the counter to wait for his food.

Hybros drifted over to where Boomingham was seated, next to Guts and the still-shirtless Haldor. They were discussing women, of all things. Hybros shook his head, not understanding these petty human relationships. Instead he ordered a glass of water and tried to get Boomingham's attention. He was handing over gold coins to other heroes. Hybros sighed. That was the King.

"How have your... travels been, Lawrence? Eheh..." His face brightened a little while in the man's presence.

Haldor did his best to look up at Althior, who seemed to be having a little disagreement with Alexis.

"Hail friend. I hope that life has been kinder to you than it has to me since we last met. This stuff is the only kindness that I can get." The Nord, even after consuming large quantities of booze, seemed just as worn and sad as before. Where even was she? The fact that she must have gone back to the inn alone made him sure that she was avoiding him as much as possible. Haldor turned back to Althior, resisting the urge to chug down some more wine. "Maybe you can help me."

[K-Nut]

"Haldor, if it is in my power, I shall do whatever it takes to help you, my friend," It was strange for Althior to hear that Haldor had troubles. The nord had always been able to help him out of rough spots.

"Thank you friend, at least I still have the gawky mage and his aura to rely upon."Haldor managed a grim smile, but it ended up appearing as a grimace. "The matter is most delicate, but I know that I can trust you to understand and hopefully not just make snide remarks constantly. Concerning her. Stuff happened while we were away, and she musta' discovered that I'm not the man she thought I was. I was too blind acting the hero to notice, but by now my not-so bright decisions have scarred the love between us. Hell, I just don't know what to do anymore."

Finnegan leans over to the ranger who just sat at his table, "I have a feeling you and I are the only sane ones here. Name's Finnegan, by the way. I'd shake your hand, but I don't have any. "

"Pleased to meet you, Master Finnegan."

[Zepher]

"How have your... travels been, Lawrence? Eheh..." His face brightened a little while in the man's presence.

Boomingham snorted in excitement at the sight of his smallest ally.

"Hello, my little friend!! Glad you could join us. I have someone I need to go talk to, accompany me so we'll be able to catch up." Boomingham pats Haldor on the back, nods courteously to Alexis and Althior, winks at Guts, scoops up his Flaming Gumball as it arrives and begins the trek over to the bar, talking the whole way, hoping that the imp was following.

"My adventures went very well. For the first time in a long time I remained in Eubric. It's an interesting city to be sure. I picked up some nice garb, fought a vampire or two, prevented a disaster, normal hero stuff. Went into debt a little... that's why I need to see this shaggy man over here. What about you?" Before Hybros can respond, the duo is at the bar. Boomingham taps Nur tentatively on the back.

"Howdy, Nur. I owe you this." Boomingham shells out 20 gold pieces, putting his current total at 125, and places them on the bar. "Mind if my little friend and I join you for a drink? Nur, Hybros. Hybros, Nur. Don't know if you two are acquainted or not. Hybros was about to tell us what happened to him while we were away." Boomingham gulps down his Flaming Gumballs and then tries to get a bar keep's attention.

Jess walked into the Hall after a good night's rest at her inn across the street. Spotting Haldor, Jess quickly turned the other way toward Boomingham.

"Oi, Boomingham! Since you seem to be settling your debts, don't you owe me a bit, too?"

[Zepher]

Boomingham raises an eyebrow and smirks for Hybros to see. "Look how popular my debt made me," he quips before turning around and smiling grandly at Jess. "Look alive," he calls before tossing a small greasy sack with 50 gold in it her way, bringing his gold down to 75.

[Sisco]

Jess catches the bag easily, then almost drops it due to the sheer amount of grease on it.

"You should take better care of your coinpurses, Boomingham, lest the gold inside gets as nasty as the bag..."

Jess then empties the bag into the much cleaner bag that Docken gave her earlier, bringing her total gold up to 716 pieces.

"Here, you can have this back," Jess said as she threw the bag at Boomingham's face. "Take a bath while you're at it..."

"Finnegan, just don't. Where was I? Oh yes, women. From what I know, stand up and apologize. Wish Alexis knew that. Again, I know nothing about women, even with my experiences on this earth. So just go, sit by her, talk about it. From what I can see, she still admires you, and you her." Finnegan lets out a sob from the other side of the room. "What's your problem?"

"That was so sappy, it reminded me of a good rom-com,"

"What the hell is a rom-com?"

"Pleased to meet you, Master Finnegan."

"See? *sniff* He calls me master!"

"Hmpf, I can answer that one. It's a type of play, notorious for the fact that every one is practically the same. Rich folk in the southern cities enjoy them."

Guts looks at the blue figure with a feeling of disgust, and says:

"You should keep your ghost-thing in check, Mage."

"Jess, such a sneaky one. You always appear from nowhere and never make a sound." Nur mouthed his 'thanks' as his food and drank arrived. He raised an eyebrow and watched the exchange between Boomingham and Jess and eyed the coin on the table. He passed it back to Boomingham. "Keep your money. On the way in I heard some fancy merchant is coming to town soon. You may need it."

He took a bite from his chicken. "Aye, I was looking forward to questing with Hybros here. He's a bit of a throwing weapons expert and I need the training."

"You should keep your ghost-thing in check, Mage."

"Hmmm, from seeing you in action, I don't know if I should surprised... Jokes aside, if you want that thing dead, which I believe it either already is or it just technically isn't alive, you should probably get someone from the temples, exorcism and stuff."

Need I remind that I took out both the guard in that Shadeux fight? By myself?

"Oh? I remember killing at least 4 Shadeaux guards myself, but it was a joke, don't get worked up, kid."

Guts turns his head slightly, looked at Althior, and sharply said, before walking up to his own table:

"I know what mages are capable off, that does not make me someone who antagonizes mages, that makes me a wary man. Where I am from, they collar your kind. Keep that in mind."

[K-Nut]

"Out of curiosity, Master Finnegan, if everyone treats you as badly as it would appear, why do you even bother staying here?"

Haldor tried his best to ignore the irritant that is Finnegan, who happened to be the last thing in the world that he needed. "Okay, fine. Next time she comes through that door I'll go over; if she isn't practicing her stealth technique. Sitting here drinking my head off isn't going to help anybody, oh and try not to start anymore fights while we are talking." And thus he sat, and he waited, and he waited.

"I can see that, heh" Hybros said to Boomingham, noting his new clothing. "I'm sure it will be useful in battle... as for me..." he tried to recall the last time he had seen the king. After Jolly Rodger, and his first encounter with the Ji Pei. It seemed like so long ago... "I traveled to a quarry with Guts over there. It was simple enough, but we encountered an ancient dragon, if you can believe it, hehe... I had never seen one before. I have also visited one known as the Copper Fox, and expanded my skill set. Actually I've trying to get in contact with the Ji Pei..."

"Speaking of training, haven't you seen the Copper Fox? Where is your... fairy?"
