The Legonater Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 "Pleased to meet you, Master Rone. Will you join me for a meal?" Sure, why not. I haven't had a decent meal in ages. Quote
Zepher Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 "Life went on and I was forgotten, that's the way it went," Boomingham offers with a sad little chuckle. "Onwards and upwards," he murmurs confidently and downs another drink in one gulp. His eyes water slightly. "Burns," he chokes out as he coughs and sputters. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Sure, why not. I haven't had a decent meal in ages. "Indeed. It's so hard to find a place to eat outside of the Hall, and one usually has to settle for simpler foods when the meals aren't free as they are here.""Miss Scheherazade, I'll have the freshly-summoned bigger fish." Quote
Sisco Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Jess listened to Haldor, then sat in silence, unsure of what to say yet again. She then grimaced as Boomingham suddenly appeared and put his filthy, smelly arms around her and Haldor. He spoke his piece, then staggered back to the bar, most likely to get more drunk than he already was. Haldor then spoke again, and Jess's heart seemed to melt when he proclaimed his love for her. "Haldor... Boomingham's right... I can't expect you to improve me. And I can't expect you to be perfect. I... I love you too. We're going to have our problems, but we need to just work them out and get past this." Quote

Scorpiox Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Haldor was surprised, but then he was overcome with joy. It all fitted together now, finally it worked. "Woah, Jess, you forgive me? Of all I have done? I want to try and be better for you now Jess, and I will do whatever you want of me to get there. You don't need to change, you don't need to be improved. We can all strive to be good in life, but that is something to aspire to, not something that we can snatch in a moment. I know that together we can try to be the best of people, despite our differences of race and being, but that we will build on over time. If you give me a chance, then it will all get better. I love you Jess." Haldor leant forward to embrace his love, wrapping tightly around her burying his face in her dark sweet-smelling locks as her head rested on his shoulder. Not very concious of those standing nearby. Quote

Scorpiox Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Haldor took a stroll around the familiar hall of Heroica, stretching his legs, clearing his head. In these warm summer days the air was thick, and it could rapidly become hot and stuffy within the sturdy walls that felt so protective. There was very little activity happening these past few nights, with a large number of his friends off fighting foreign wars in Dastan. Haldor knew nothing of Dastan, never straying close to it or hearing much of what went on there. But it must be a terrible place, he thought, if heroes from far away lands had to be draughted in to sort things out. Even Eubric housed not the climate that the Norsemen were used to, with snow infrequent and the sweltering heat very uncomfortable. Dastan would be much worse, and if anything, travelling accross to a distant kingdom with curious customs and weather to fight in strange conflicts seemed unappetising. But here he was, Haldor glancing absent mindedly at the quest board, until something caught his intrest. He rushed back over to Jess, who was resting lightly upon the bar. Hesitant to wake her, Haldor softly kicked at her stool. Soon realising how very insensitive this was, he quickly looked the other way as though he hadn't had anything to do with, in a very convincing way. As Jess stood up, clearly confused, the Nord led her over down to the quest board, and jabbed at an entry with his finger. "See what it says here, where it wants us to go? Haddon, Jess, where it all happened. It says that Wren is back, back in Haddon. You see Jess, we have to go there, we have to help. Please go with me on this one Jess, we have to do this together. See if we can't save Haddon, rescue the lost heroes, stop Wren and help ourselves all in one fell swoop." Haldor sqweezed her hand tightly, and stepped forward to write the name of 'Haldor Skovgaard, Nord.' upon the parchment, hoping that Miss Islanti would do the same. Quote
Sisco Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Jess, still groggy, listened to Haldor's passionate speech. Her eyes lit up at the mention of Wren. "Wren... I still haven't had my shot at her. Yes, I'll sign my name. Gladly." Jess then wrote her name next to Haldor's for quest 38. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Alexis walks over to Jess, and waits until she turns and sees her. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She says timidly. "Althior's just been staring at me blankly, not sure what's going on. Did I hear that you two had an argument? Althior and I don't seem on the best level right now." Quote

K-Nut Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 "Out of curiosity, Master Finnegan, if everyone treats you as badly as it would appear, why do you even bother staying here?" "Because I like the free food and roof over my head. Plus, it's fun watching some of these people run around like idiot's!" Haldor tried his best to ignore the irritant that is Finnegan, who happened to be the last thing in the world that he needed. "Okay, fine. Next time she comes through that door I'll go over; if she isn't practicing her stealth technique. Sitting here drinking my head off isn't going to help anybody, oh and try not to start anymore fights while we are talking." And thus he sat, and he waited, and he waited. "Good man, just try not to do anything-" Althior tries to find the right word, "stupid," "Your words only display your ignorance. Now get out of my face, Magicuser." Althior rolls his eyes and mutters, "Can't even call me by name," Then it laxes off and she decides to speak to Althior again. "Alright Althior, look, I'm sorry for doing anything that upset you, I really am." She wraps her arm around him. "Could you just tell me what I did to upset you, please?" "It's not you, it's... it's..." He sighs, "It's me, there are only a few things I can say I care about-" "Like me!" "No, shut up." He starts to whisper in her ear. "Anyways, if something happened to you, I don't know what I'd do. I'll save the rest for later. Finnegan may think of this as a sappy "rom-com" again," "Not rom-com, chick-flick." *sniff* "Curse your Vulcan hearing!" Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 "This is about that quest sign up isn't it? I'm fine going with you, you were just taking to long to pick another person, I'd like to take Hybros with us. Jess would be nice but I don't want to break them up." Quote

Interesting choice of entertainment, Master Finnegan - 'watching people run around like idiots'. What exactly do they do that you enjoy so much?" Quote

Brickdoctor Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 "Nah," "Is it not frustrating when they run off in pursuit of some unrelated item or try to 'fix' problems they weren't hired to deal with? Or are those some of the 'idiotic yet funny' things you spoke of?" Quote

Not really frustrating, but then again, this guy writing for me I never know when we're getting totally off topic. Don't tell me you've never gone off the purpose of the quest." Quote

Jebediahs Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 En Sabah Nur nodded his farewells as he headed downstairs after completing his meal. He took a look at the questboard. The possibility of adventuring with Alf again was enough for him not to sign up. This other one looks promising. Signing up as a team...brilliant employer. Must be a serious mission. He looked around and sighed. "Aw well." Nur left the questboard area and headed for the training room. Quote
JimBee Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Hybros tugged on Alexis' shirt, seeing her trying to get Althior's attention. "Excuse me, but I could not help but to overhear... eheheh, if you do not want to leave Althior, we could find another to join us." He eyed Nur looking around for someone to quest with. "But I can not leave Guts to travel with you both... loyalty? Heh!". Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 "I can respect that Hybros, hopefully you can forgive me." She turns back to Althior. "So, want to see if Mr. Drocken would like to go with us? Finnegan seems to like him..." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Guts put his drink on the table with a loud sound, halting the conversations around him for a second. The elf with the bow would come back on her promise of going with them, litterally moments before the Questers would be announced? Hmpf, perhaps it was for the best something like this happened now, he would not like to be in a fight with her when she had a change of mind. Weak, that's all it was. When Guts started walking down to the Questboard to take off the sign-up he had written, and he now needed to take down, the Raider saw the elf sitting with the foolish mage. Figures. Annoyed, mainly because the woman had not even bothered to inform him, Guts spoke loudly: "I need a brave soul to go with me, and the skilled Hybros here. We have no use for those that can't hold their own ground, but know that you won't stand alone." Quote
