Jebediahs Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Sitting at the bottom of the far stairwell, En Sabah Nur waited for news if his latest offer of exchange would be accepted. The shaggy spellcaster got up as Old Mack Donauld left the questboard. "He needs help again. The last time I offered him my assistance he declined to accept it. Maybe this time will be different..." Nur signed up for Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Alexis sits and watches Ellaria enter the bar, she notices that Elpis is not with her and wonders if she found someone to watch her. Alexis heads over to say hello to her friend. "Hello Ellaria, how are you doing today?" As she finishes the sentence, Alexis notices her sad expression and sits down next to her. "What has happened Ellaria? Where's Elpis?" She asks with a very concerned expression. Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Sylph rose abruptly. The other Druid had entered the hall, and something in her demeanor had changed. Her appearance was that of a pained animal. The iron-helmed Druid cast his gaze upon Ellaria, but it was not returned in the flurry of well-battled heroes swarming around her like flies on a wound. Sylph's gaze lingered for a moment longer, and then turned, his camouflaged cape flowing behind him. He stalked to the Quest Board, noticing a few new papers hanging. As he drew nearer, he saw one offered by the Shadeaux. Quickly he signed up for Quest 43, hoping for a chance to work for the traders. Quote
Sandy Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 "Woah, I didn't see you down there Ellaria, sorry if I may have interupted your quiet contemplation." Upon seeing her sad expression and the lack of child by her side, Haldor abandoned his quest for oxygen and sat down on a chair nearby, trying his best to adopt a helpful visage. "Ellaria, friend, why do you look so sad? Is everything alright? What has happened? Ellaria, please let me help." "Good morning, Ellaria!" He noticed her swolen eyes and realized this was not a good morning. "Oh, god..." He was speechless. "Hello Ellaria, how are you doing today?" As she finishes the sentence, Alexis notices her sad expression and sits down next to her. "What has happened Ellaria? Where's Elpis?" She asks with a very concerned expression. Just as she had feared, from among the crowd of unfamiliar faces had emerged her friends. Alexis, Althior, and her fellow cleric Haldor. They immediately noticed that something was wrong, and Ellaria opened her mouth to answer their worried questions, but no words came out. Instead, she felt tears pushing out again, but determinedly she wiped them off. "Elpis was taken from her crib, a few days ago. I need to find her. Please... can you help me?" Uttering those words took all her strength, and she slouched to the nearest chair, as her friends rushed by her side. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Alexis stares, mouth open, as Ellaria speaks what has happened. She can't understand why someone would steal poor Elpis. "Of course we will Ella'. Where do you think we should start?" Quote

"Of course we will Ella'. Where do you think we should start?" Ellaria shrugged her shoulders. "I signed into a quest pitched by the Town Watch, maybe the officers know something. The few watchmen I managed to get ahold of did not seem to care. Old Spriggan promised to ask around, too." She then looked at her friend deep in the eyes. "Lexie, I know she's alive. I just feel it in my heart. I know she's tiny and fragile, but she lives. I cannot give up on her." Quote

Scorpiox Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Haldor did his best to contain his shock at how Ellaria had been targeted in such a way. The crime itself was most cruel, but the fact that a vulnerable girl such as her had fallen victim to something like this was terrible indeed. The Nord found it hard to believe that a regular goon or footpad would steal a child from their mother in such a way, so there had to be another motive. Maintaining an air of calmness, Haldor drew up plans in his head. "I know many scumbags and thugs in this city who would sink so low to do such a thing, too many unfortunately. I can't think that this is work of common criminals, but I wouldn't put it past some of those people in the nether regions of this city. Ellaria, where were you when you noticed that Elpis was gone? I think that this is more than an act of a petty outlaw, so the sooner we know why this was done, the sooner we can go and get her back. Do you know of anyone who would want to... hurt you like this? I don't for the life of me know what someone would take your daughter for, unless they had some kind of a grudge..." Edited August 5, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote

Peppermint_M Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Tesni marched in. She noticed the newest quests and signed up for Quest #38: The Lost Party. Checking for her questmates Tesni shrugged at no sign of them and made her way to a table. She grabbed a plate of food and a jug of ale to be getting on with. Quote
Zepher Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Boomingham walks back into the Hall and is pleased to see that his young friend Ellaria, who he has not seen for a long time, have arrived back in the Hall. He walks over to her, mumbling to himself. "I only met her once, most likely not going to remember me, but Haldor and Alexis are with her and I'm sure they'll-" Boomingham stops in his tracks when he sees how upset she is. He looks at Haldor, and their eyes meet for a moment. Boomingham nods bravely to his friend. "Best let her be with those closest to her, whatever it is," he murmurs, wishing Haldor the strength to talk to her kindly. He walks over to a table, gives a smile and nod to another one of his newly returned oldest friends, Tesni, and sits down. "Anyone care to share an ale?" he calls out to the Hall, hoping to gain company and draw any potential unwanted attention away from the poor grieving girl. Quote
The_Customizer Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Siercon, might you possibly be interested in receiving (for free) some items for your upcoming quest? Noticing that there are new Quests Erdathcath signs her name under the quests. Quest 42, 43 and 44. Perhaps I shall have some luck in gaining entrance to one of these quests! Quote
K-Nut Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 These were the same questions that she had gone through in her head ever since she saw the empty crib.[/i] "Oh Haldor, I was just downstairs, working at the apotechary. But why would he do that? He didn't know I was pregnant when I left. He had a family of his own, why would he care about some bastard girl? I don't understand any of this..." Ellaria buried her face into her hands. Althior put his arm around Ellaria's shoulder, attempting to comfort her. It obviously was not working. "You aren't expected to understand any of this." He really didn't know what to say. For all he knew, it could have been his own fault. He was told before he came to Eubric that he's make enemies and his friends and family would be the ones to suffer. It couldn't have been him, could it. Whoever it was, they would pay. "My grandfather told me this before he died. Things that we lose in our life always have a way of coming back in the end." He smiled at his friend. Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Haldor placed an arm on her shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll get her back, just you watch, we'll find who did this. I suggest that we pay a visit to the apothacary, and try asking him if he can identify anyone who came to his shop on that day. We can check the list for anyone who stands out, and go from there. You room that you left her in, were there any signs of someone breaking in, perhaps through a window?" Haldor leant back in his chair, and grim expression over his features. His face hardened as he continued, and a slight crack formed of the handle of his mug of mead that he held rather too tightly in his right hand."And don't you worry about whichever piece of dirt hurt you back at your village, if it was him who took Elpis, I'm going to make him regret it." Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Tesni grinned. "Boomers! How goes it friend?" Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Cinna walks into the hall. It's flurry of activity, aromas, and noise sends a short shiver of panic through her. She considers turning around before leaving the entryway, before anyone has seen her. Taking a deep breath though, she takes another step into the Hall and then another. Soon she is standing in front of the quest board. It's been a while, and the board is full of new quests. She studies each one before finally writing her name below Quest #44: My Best Friend. "That looks like a good first step to repairing the damage I have brought to the world through my actions and inactions. " she thinks solemnly to herself. Turning away from the board, she smiles to see Tesni sitting down to have some well-earned food and drink. "Hope everyone else arrives safely too." she mutters before heading upstairs to get some warm food and cool drink for herself. Quote
Quarryman Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Feeling tired, but satisfied with their latest quest Namyrra walked into the hall with confidence. Noticing Tesni waving at her with something that looked suspiciously much like gold she decided to go join her, she'd gotten quite fond of the young and furious berserker during their travels together. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 "Namyrra, here is your share of the gold. 514 each after I added in the bars. Seeing as Maurice left us he will have left the gold also." She grinned. "I am glad of some rest now though!" Quote
Zepher Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Tesni grinned. "Boomers! How goes it friend?" "My friend from the highlands! I'm doing well enough, I suppose. Hung around Eubric and stopped some wacky Mage from destroying the city. Wasn't too tough. Made some allies and some enemies. Haldor over there is a solid enough man, and Nur, wherever he may be... don't know if I can actually trust him, but he's good in a tight spot, and for a laugh. Jess and Docken proved their worth. I'm hoping to go after the Wolfgang with the Town Watch, I don't trust that lot, and they owe me some money. I say anyone should be able to move up, but they've got to do it honestly. We're all playing the gain game, might as well all play it fairly. What have you been up to?" Quote
