"Althior! It is good to see you! Dastan was an incredible place, rich in history and it's peoples are fierce and loyal. We helped save many key people within the Empire, but still lost others who are greatly missed. I know I did my very best there, and learned so much, and yet back here now, I cannot seem to decide what to do next, either for Advanced Classes or Quests."

As Arthur left the Library, he noticed a Metasimian Hero enter, look around for a moment, and then leave again. Curious, Arthur followed Thothwick back outside, but was distracted by the reappearance of several other Heroes. He walked over to De'kra just in time to hear the rogue mention something about stealing the power of a god. "By the gods...she's really going to do it, isn't she?" Arthur's brow furrows. He knew the fate that would await him if Wren achieved her goal--a true Master of Chaos abode no rivals.

Seeing his own Master arrive, however, lightened his spirits tremendously. "Althior!" he called, "It's good to see you, Master!"

IC: De'kra heard Arthur's voice boom across the hall, and quickly the ice shattered from his eyes. "I...I will talk later," he clicked, before walking away. As the echo walked off, he spotted the quest board. All the time he had been in Uland he had neglected to check it. Glancing through it, he spotted Quest 44. The echo read through the description again and again, as his eyes morphed into a bright green. With a mighty sweep of his hand De'kra signed up for Quest 44.

As the echo walked away from the sign-up list, he heard the voice speak in a calm sorrowful voice.

"I'm sorry."

De'kra paused as he heard the voice, unsure of the voice's meaning. But at least he knew what he had to do, what path he had to take.

OOC: I know you don't like my tendency to role play, so I will try to tone it down if De'kra goes. But honestly it will be hard for me to do, so go with your gut.

"I see what you mean. Whenever you get back into the hall, you have no idea what to do. I thought you were to follow the path of Shaman?"

Seeing his own Master arrive, however, lightened his spirits tremendously. "Althior!" he called, "It's good to see you, Master!"

"Oh god, him again," :hmpf:

Althior rolled his eyes at his bumbling companion before speaking, "Arthur, my friend! How are you? You seem to be much more experienced than the last I saw you. Any plans to visit the training room soon?"

Galen rushes into the Hall and walks straight to a formidable orc, armour gleaming even in the dimly lit Hall.

"Cronk, I have been looking for you! We have unfinished business, you and I! Haven't you forgotten something?"

Galen pulled a blood-stained blade from beneath his cloak.

"Um, sorry, I should have had it polished first..."

The rogue fumbles with his cloak, trying to wipe the sword clean to no avail.

"Anyway, here it is! The Sword of Bashing returns to his rightful owner! You saved my life many times in Dastan Cronk, and your sword saved me just as often. I thank you for all that you have done.

Galen bows with a smile.

"But now I have been gifted with enough money to buy weapons of my own, and replenish my consumables. Dastan was cruel to us in many ways, but we didn't come back empty handed. I bet the merchants of Eubric have already filled their pockets with Dastanian gold!"

"Indeed. I will visit when my photos finish uploading soon, when I know for certain my path." The words of Wren echoed: Do not try to predict me, Regulus. Wise words, despite their source. "I have learned much in my time away, including the folly of laying plans upon an ever-shifting future. Hopefully, with the help of that artifact of Chaos--" at this, Arthur nodded towards Zoot's Plaything in Skrall's hand "--I may divine my proper path." More quietly, he murmured, almost to himself "Perhaps I ought to have asked the Dastanian seer I saved for guidance..."

IC: De'kra's eyes shifted to a yellow glow as he commented, "Everyone has destiny, but few know it. And those few not know much. Only through faith in unity and devotion to duty can destiny be found. At least...that was how it was and I people."

The echo was not too far away, glancing at them unsubtly.

Nerwen returns to the hall, even after so long away it seems little has changed. Heroes still chattering and bickering and trading.

She stops by the quest board and reads over the open tasks. One more quest and she would have the experience needed to master more of the heroic arts.

Nerwen signs up for quest #44.

Nerwen signs up for quest #45.

Stepping upstairs to the bar area she sees several heroes from Dastan. Spotting De'kra she moves across to him. Sitting close she asks in a low voice,

How are you De'kra? The journey home was so busy I feel like we had no time to talk.

What did our feathered friend give you? Seemed like a special gift.

IC: De'kra nodded to Nerwen and clicked, "It was quick journey, though I was distract try to adapt to gift."

The echo pulled out a stout object, and flexed it. The collapsed device extended into a instrument of some sort, carved in the shape of a dragon. Two holes rested on the surface for changing tone, but the real oddity was the fold out wings. Each wing was divided into three lines, like the keys of a piano.

De'kra sighed contently as he looked over it, and clicked, "I remember how to make music from back home, though I not recall how I learn it. I memories still lack I in them. Still, it is good to craft song again. I guess she notice that song I wove in final battle."

The echo paused, and then clicked, "I worry about other heroes. Many of ones who meet Wren seem...passionate about her capture. And right they should fear, power of gods can be stolen, if done right. But I worry she becomes too...thought dominate. Like I said in Dastan, from what I heard, Wren might think of world as game. That people are tools to use, and when she bores of her allies, they will be cast aside. And even though heroes will fight her, they will be tangle in her dangerous game. She has to be stop, but interact and her and danger follows. I not sure if this fear make sense, I not understand everything about Olegaia, and I confusion tend to make problems.."

The strange creature trailed off, as his mind wandered off to his coming class change.

OOC: hopefully this is okay, I think it is cool none the less.

"I guess I'll pass the selling option for now, Cronk. I'd like a good weapon for myself too in exchange of this."

Isabella moved to the quest board and decided to sign up for another quest; Quest 46: Product Testing

Arthur feels the Plaything call him once more. It is time.

"Skrall...it's time. May I borrow the Plaything of Zoot, just for a few minutes longer?"

Posted

IC: Suddenly De'kra winced as a voice shrieked.

"Oh just go already! Quite trying to socialize and come on. I would love finding out more information, you know that, but she knows just as much as you. She can't help with anything right now."
"I know less than him."
"But he should not stall."

There was a sigh from De'kra, the voices were right, it was time for him to embrace the paradox. Finally he clicked, "Forgive I, I have to go to Train Hall. I have been put off I advance class upgrade, and I can not enact that any longer. I will be back soon, but I must take first step."

"Be my guest, ya just make sure to call either myself, Cronk, or Haldor over ther if ya have any trouble. We've all had dealin's with those things before and we wouldn't want any harm comin' to ya." Skrall tossed the plaything on Arthur's swathed hand side.

If that is Isabella's choice. Cronk thanks rogue for listening to offer. If Isabella should change mind, let Cronk know.

"Skrall...it's time. May I borrow the Plaything of Zoot, just for a few minutes longer?"

"What the hell are you doing, Arthur? You got corrupted an Emerald for crying out loud and you think a weapon made of pure chaos is gonna be better?" He laughed. "Put it down, Arthur, before you hurt anyone,"

Arthur was already gone before Althior's words could even reach him. Half an hour later, he returned, alongside De'kra. Both were clothed in new garb, a testament to their new skills. Arthur tossed the Plaything casually back to Skrall. "Thanks for that, mate!"

Atramor raised an eyebrow, turning to the rogue.

"In the market for a weapon? I don't think I'll be needin' this Black Katana... It's a simple weapon, but I'll offer it at only 50 gold, that's 3 free WP more than they're selling that Fauxthril crap for at the marketplace."

He also blinked at the newly-clothed Arthur, and chuckled.

"Choosin' the rogue's path, eh?"

The plaything rolled on the table finding its way like a long lost puppy back to in front of the Ogre. Skrall quickly pocketed the orb, "Sounds like ya took half the hall down with ya in yer trainin'. Better make yerself scarce before Scheherazade puts the damages on yer tab."

"Choosin' the rogue's path, eh?"

Arthur grins rakishly. "Indeed." He starts to chuckle darkly, but cuts himself off suddenly and clears his throat. "Right, well, in the meantime, I have a few debts to settle. Time to take a closer look at the Quest board..."

As he passes Atramor, he leans over and whispers in the Witch's ear. "Is the incessant urge to laugh evilly a standard feature of all Rogues, or is it just me?"

"Aye, nice text color roguish voice. And I'm assuming it's an advanced class thing, mate, I haven't been able to laugh without it comin' out as a cackle since I became a Witch."

Atramor leaned back in his chair, with a nod.

"Soon you'll be rakin' in more gold than ya' know what to do with."

"Oh, and I'd take a look at 38. Ya' seem to eager to learn more about Wren, and it seems to be a good opportunity to do so."

"Perhaps we ought to have an evil laughing contest sometime." Arthur chuckles darkly once more. "I signed up for Quest 38 the moment I returned from Dastan, I'm surprised so few of us have. Skrall, why haven't you signed up? Head of Guard McColt said he wanted a Hero who had served in Haddon, and I already know you make an excellent Party Leader."

Returning his attention to Atramor, Arthur speaks over his shoulder as he walks to the Quest board. "I'm more interested in seeing who's out on Quests, anyway. You know. See which of my debtors is still in town. Maybe I shouldn't have bought this robe, but it was SO nice..." Arthur scans the list of active heroes, and is stunned to find that both Johon and Docken were listed among the active Questers. "Would you look at that," he mutters. "Well, looks like I'm off the hook, for a while, anyway."

Jules inched her way into the Hall. She cautiously worked her way upstairs and observed heroes through the railings.
"Is that Chirpina...? Nah, couldn't be."
She saw them ordering food and drink without paying so she went to the bar and did the same. She pretended like she belonged there. Jules ate her fill then left the Hall. She looked around once more before taking a road headed east...

"You'll be able to pay 'em ten times over when ya' get back from your next Quest, trust me. Shame I don't have anythin' that helps me relieve enemies of their coin, but, hey, when ya' can have a beast entirely created and devoted to the destruction of heroes stab another designed to do exactly the same, ya' can't complain."

Atramor cackles briefly, before taking a deep sip of rum to stifle it.

"I'm tryin' to make a lot of deals in the hall at the moment, but I'll still have a good bitta gold left over. I considered gettin' myself one of those robes, but...eh. Might have this Crown priced, though, I hear there's some new elf in the marketplace who appraises this kinda stuff."

"And on the chance ya' don't get into your Quest, try joinin' up on Quest 40 with me and Cronk. Last time we were workin' for the town guards was intense, but rewardin'."
