Arthur re-enters the hall, the darkness swirling around him like a second cloak. Without hesitation, without even reading the notice, he puts his pen to the parchment, signing up for Quest 53. "There is indeed Chaos in Eubric. But it shall not be shaped to her will."

Arthur spots Atramor standing not too far away. "Atramor! Here!" Arthur lobs his Amethyst to the Witch. "Crown's not been much use so far, but it's still worth hanging on to. Thanks." That particular debt paid, Arthur then spins around and heads for the Marketplace.

Skrall strides back into the hall. Glancing at the quest board he grimaces and signs his name under Quest 53: Chaos In Eubric. Noticing Thothwick's note he unpins the paper and replaces it with a piece of his own before making his way back to the arena. Things were going to get ugly and he'd best be prepared.

For Sale: WP:20 Greatsword/Winged sandals 200 Gold. If interested see Skrall the Ogre.

IC: De'kra returned from the marketplace, with a lot less gold weighing him down. "Arthur I," he began, "I think I...you really think I should become Sorceror? That I ready to wield such raw power?"

"You are more ready than most."

"Yeah, get on with it."

"It won't matter in the end anyway."

Arthur is stopped at the doorway to the Hall by De'kra. The echo seems hesitant, but strong in accepting his destiny. "Yes, De'kra. You are ready. More ready than most." More ready than I was when I became a Sorcerer. "In fact..." Arthur reaches into his bag, extracting his Scroll of Sealing. "You may find this useful for your training, and beyond. Consider it an investment in your future." Arthur hands De'kra the Scroll with a wink, before settling down in a chair in front of the fire.

IC: De'kra gently clasped the scroll, and dipped his head in thanks. "If...if you are sure," he clicked, "If you are gone before I return, good luck on your next quest. Just...be careful if you encounter Wren. I worry she deals not merely in chaos, but in words. And words can be very dangerous if use right."

With that De'kra left for the Training hall.

OOC: the word of the day is clasped apparently, I'm using it all over the place.

Arthur glanced out the window. The air had grown distinctly chillier, and the sun seemed to have set earlier than he had expected. Huh. I wonder...

"Hey, anyone know what day it is?"

Posted

IC: De'kra returned to the hall, and greeted Arthur. "Sorry it took while," he clicked, "it was hard to break through. I probably was not ready. So...you ever get I journal back?"

Posted

"Oh. Right..." Arthur hands De'kra the Journal back, albeit somewhat nervously. "I...just remembered I've forgotten to say hello to Byblos. I'll be back soon." With that, Arthur heads to the Library.

~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#54 by Waterbrick Down)!~

After a sleepless night, Ellaria came back to the Hall yawning, hoping to find another quest offer. She needed to find another place to live in, but with her current income she couldn't afford anything outside the Hovels.

Seeing the odd request for retrieving a missing piece of cloth, Ellaria shrugged. It seemed like a simple enough task... Without thinking it further, she signed up for Quest #54.

Atramor took a deep swig of rum, and paused, looking around suspiciously.

"...Wait, didn't we already...?

....Nawww."

Posted

Arthur sighs. "Now I remember why even the Ancients were hesitant to embrace time travel." Arthur drops off 130 gold to Alexander Vagrant (again) in exchange for the Spider Leg, and mumbles something indistinct to De'kra about avoiding the Library.

Arthur flops down moodily next to Johnny Everyman, glaring angrily towards the universe in general. "So, is someone gonna tell me about those wanted posters, or...?"

Posted

IC: De'kra turned to Arthur in horror and clicked, "You...you felt time change too?"

OOC: this is in character for De'kra.

"Yeah, why? Didn't anyone else sense it? It happened a couple months back, too, I was just too woozy to comment about it. I figured it had to do with the Chaos in the city..."

Posted

IC: De'kra nodded and clicked, "If they feel it no one mention it. Sometimes I feel time seem to almost slow, like in battle. I remember in Quest 20 I could one second be attack foe, then everything would slow enough for me to be able to write reply to a journal message, and get back to battle. I think it happen in Quest 29 also. And other times I and other heroes have time to talk abostrangeness and what to enact even as we attack foes. But no one notice or, or at least they not find it odd.You think time is damage or something? It possible, hero back home once threaten to destroy all of time, in order to make villain back down. Luckily villain compromise, as hero was not bluff."

"I'm more inclined to believe it was a disturbance among the gods--or at least something to that effect. I hate using the term 'gods', but no language I know posesses the words needed to accurately express my beliefs regarding such things. The best way I can put it would be..." Arthur exhales in frustration, and opens his mouth to speak several times, but can't seem to find the right words--or even ANY words--to say. finally, he resignedly says, "Let's just say that it makes complete sense of the seeming contradiction between Destiny and Free Will, and leave the matter until the philosophers come up with better words for us to use, shall we?"

Arthur strokes his stubble momentarily. "I suppose in a way you could say that time is 'broken'--we think of time as flowing the way it does in an outside realm of the 'gods', when in reality it does nothing of the sort. Though if we stop and think about it, the way it works in their realm doesn't make much sense, either..."

IC: De'kra clicked, "I...honestly not sure what you mean. It different in I world, time only move one way: forward. Sometimes you can slow it and freeze people, though that is Vahi, and there is only one. Sometimes you can bring you past forward, but that only create new worlds base on your past and they remember nothing, and sometimes you can accelerate it and turn people to dust. But you can never go back in time, or change it. Time only move forward, though some realities slower than others. Only break Vahi could undo that, though it would make future, past, and present one and none. Speak of which, you think it might be because of Quest 21, time travel quest that was never finish? Could fact that heroes never complete their mission in past be destabilize time?"

Boomingham grumbles as he drags himself off of a table. Barty zips around him. The Hall is getting crowded once more.

A new quest has popped up while he's been asleep. He sags off of his chair and lumbers over to it sleepily. He blinks often and covers his eye.

"You see what drinking does to you?!" his little pest quips.

Boomingham hardly has the energy to swat the little pest, but he tries his best.

"A new quest. Eh, I think it's time I head out. No rest for the wicked, right Barty? Besides, a priest. That ought to be a string I can pull later." Boomingham signs up for Quest 54. He then makes his way over to Atramor.

"I'm heading out, boy-o. Got to make sure Servus will know to buy food and water in case I go on a quest. Can't have him dying on me while I'm away. I hope he likes the city. Anyway, came to say good bye. Figured this may be the last time I see you in a while if we're both on our way out. You're... alright, boy. You've got a good head on your shoulders, at least. Hope it stays there. Next time we meet, just remember who's in charge. Tell Nyx good bye for me if you see her. I'll miss that gal." Boomingham pats Atramor forcibly on the back before throwing open the double doors and trudging our of the hall. Barty stares down Atramor with loathing, and then his chicken with an even more intense form of disgust, and floats after his charge.

"Arthur, weren't it? Those wanted posters? Ah, who knows what the Town Watch gets up to. They aren't folks I've ever seen before. And I've seen lots of folks, believe you me! Zee, Zander... what's that other one? Lots of Z names. Weird stuff. Don't know too many Z names. Court of Demons too. Ha! Fools will be fools, my friend. I'm just waiting here until my own little ordeal blows over. The city can be a dangerous place for those of us who aren't careful. Anywho, that Sergeant One-Leg... he's a tough fellow. He'll get them or die trying. He and that Patricia are the only ones who ever brought me in on account of anything, and Gurnam bought me out once. But, yeah, point is, I don't know if Heroica will have to worry her pretty little head about those folks. Town Watch ain't good, but Sergeant Bennetton will get them. I hear he's a friend of Heroica, too."

"Malia ten' yulna?"

He notices the dwarf grumbling behind his back and exclaims, "Is anything wrong my dear bearded sir?! Does the elven tongue offend you?"

"Ætti ég að byrja að tala móðurmál mitt? (Soll ich anfangen, meine Muttersprache zu sprechen?) I just think it would be better if we all try to speak the common language. And I fear that some Elves are offended by me. Or something like that. I don't trust you. I can't trust you. Nothing too racist. Just. You Elves are in cahoots together."

To the dwarf "Lle quena i’lambe tel’ Eldalie?"

Enough that I know what you want me to ask, my dear., she thinks but remains quiet.

"I doubt the dwarf speaks Elvish."

"Yes, but try it costs nothing"

"It could be offensive."

"To this I hadn't thought, my question is only an attempt to communicate"

"Hello! I am still here! And I can understand what you say when you speak the common language!" Amma rolls her eyes. Elves aren't that superintellegent they always think they are.

Ellaria looks at the strange dwarf intently.

"Thank you for this insight. There are so many cultures and beliefs in this world that I know nothing about... So your goddess was once a living creature, raised as an object of worship? I've heard stories similar to that about my goddess, Sylvania. Some say she is the almighty Queen of Fairies, residing somewher beyond our realm in the Faerie. But I don't know if that is true. I would probably have to find a way into the Faerie before I could find it out. No, I still have enough faith in my goddess so that no minstrel's tales sway me. Anyway, it was nice chatting with you, Stigveladi. It has been a long day for me, and I must retire."

The druid got up and gave the dwarf a courteous smile before departing. Returning to the emptiness of her room above the apotechary frightened her, but she knew that she would have to go there sooner or later. One must face her inner demons if she wishes to beat them...

Amma was satisfied with her first attempt in communicating with other beings. It turned out that she wasn't out of practice at all. She leans back in her chair, smiling pleased with the last hours, and tries to get some sleep as well.

Amma woke up by some noise at the quest board. She noticed that there were two new quests. She yawns and jiggles over to the board. A big quest for experienced Heroes. Again. Nothing for me. And the other one? Hmm... sounds short and easy. Maybe I can offer my abilities there., she thinks and writes her name under the other two names, signing up for Quest 54. Oh, Ellaria wants to join the quest as well. Maybe we will go together.

After that, Amma leaves the Hall once again to see more of Eubric. On her way out she bumps into another elf, all darkgreen and bright hair. Here has to be a nest somewhere, so many Elves. Wonder if I met HER again as well.

There was a loud rant outside the Great Hall. With a shattering sound the doors flung open and an elven Ranger entered with a grim look on her face. By the power of the kick the doors clashed to the walls and fell back into the lock. With a trembling voice she called, so that everyone could here it: "Ëas massë?"
