Chromeknight Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Later that day, Nerwen returns to the hall. Her stride is purposeful and step sure. Although she is only slightly built, there was now an air of coiled tension around her, a memory of anger and fire. It burned in her gaze and made her seem bigger somehow. Returning to the table she left she sees Guts and Boomingham still talking. Lawrence! You do not know what your friend is capable of. His words helped me. Perhaps you should listen to him. If not, perhaps this gift might. Nerwen hands Boomingham the Mulled Wine she just bought at the marketplace. Edited February 5, 2013 by Chromeknight Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Guts looked up at Nerwen, returning to the table. She was different... somehow. More than just her armour was new... Quote
Kintobor Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) "No, no, I found it very interesting." The food arrives and Karie quickly scarfs it down hastily and let's out a rather loud burp. She covers her mouth with her fist. "We'll, I hope I don't come of as being rude, but I have some errands to run in town. Well, it was nice getting to know you, I'll catch you later." She gets up and heads for town. Edited February 5, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
Brickington Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 "Yeah, nice to meet you too. Hopefully I'll see you in the quest." And then he was all alone again and then he thought to himself, "I have to get ready for the quest!" Quote
PsyKater Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Nessa held back the dwarf. "I don't believe you. And if you don't want to leave my property to me voluntarily I will take it by force. So you have the decision: Give me back the gem or I'll challenge you for a duel. Either way, this ends here!" Amma is stunned by the repeated accusations. She has seen the young elf fighting in Charis and she was quite powerful... and incalculable. And she had that powerful weapon that she had collected from an Croise Archer. Amma was still thinking about what to do, as... While waiting for an answer by the dwarf, Nessa turned around after the announcement of sign ups for quest #56. Hadn't she put her name already on that list? She wasn't sure. So she signed up for Quest #56 {Well, I guess, she is not too busy in getting in a fight with me as well. I'll get some air and maybe she'll be cooled down when I return.} Amma leaves the Hall quickly. Quote
Tanma Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Oh Kiirar, who told you that every act of every god is good? You yourself have spoken of evil spirits. And often the motives and purposes of Gods are incomprehensible, and bad things are done to avoid greater evils. Does this make it right? Who knows? But if some people are good because they think that is what is required by their gods, how is that anything but good? IC: De'kra nodded and replied, "I get idea, I not like it though. It...it easier to blame I people for Mata-Nui's...demise instead of himself." Quote
Zepher Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 "So. What's it like being king?" Boomingham laughs. "I thank you for not putting it in the past tense, raider, though I am no longer a King- I've no kingdom left to rule. Sure I claim it from now and then to a pretty lady or a particularly annoying runt, but it means little without anyone to command and protect. Truth be told, I wasn't very good at it until the war rolled around. I was fine as a general, but I wasn't very good at commanding during peace." Lawrence! You do not know what your friend is capable of. His words helped me. Perhaps you should listen to him. If not, perhaps this gift might. Boomingham accepts the present with a lock of pure and utter shock. He looks the lady up and down. "It may be that I've had a drink or two since you left, Nerwen, but you look better than ever. Thank you for the gift. Barty, look at this, your attempt to get me to stop drinking got me more drink." Barty rolls his eyes and mutters to Nerwen. "He thinks everything is about him. I was trying to get you to stop serving him that wine, but that was also a message for you. Damn mortals." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Boomingham laughs. "I thank you for not putting it in the past tense, raider, though I am no longer a King- I've no kingdom left to rule. Truth be told, I wasn't very good at it until the war rolled around. I was fine as a general, but I wasn't very good at commanding during peace." Guts thought about that answer for a while. He had never been much exposed to nobles, except in Charis. Even though the nobles he had met were often poorer, weaker or generally worse off than himself, they were all too quick to draw on the fact that their father was important in some way. If he was right, a king was just a more important noble, and this one... Well, let's just say he was little like the other noblemen, if that's what he actually was, and he wasn't just lying through his teeth. "Hm... I must admit, I'm not sure what to think of the idea of succession by family. In Strivvi, it happens, but only if the previous viscount was loved. The hope is then that the son - or daughter, takes after their father or mother. But the council of captains always has the last word. To be King, and have your blood rule through Generations... Sounds very dangerous, arrogant even... How does one become king, if your parents were not? Is it possible?" The raider looked at the shining little figure disapprovingly. If that was an Angel, the temple of Ennoc really was in trouble. Quote
Kintobor Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Karie arrives back from the market in time to have the doors open for her, as a small figure leaves the Hall. The figure leaves with such stride, that Karie almost bumps into the individual. She turns back for a second to double check. "Wait, was that a woman?" She says aloud to herself. "Nah, couldn't be." She finds a spot near the entrance of the bar and begins messing around with her dagger. Edited February 5, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
Brickington Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 "Well hello again." Sir Brickington got up from his seat and walked towards Karie. "Did you find what you need at the market?" Quote
Kintobor Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 "Ah, Brickington, was it? Yeah, I did." She swishes the bottle of potion on her hip with her hand. "So, what's going on with you?" Despite having a conversation with Brickington, Karie is fully focused on her dagger, as she flips and tosses it into the air. Quote
Chromeknight Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Nerwen noticed Guts' face carefully not react to her gift to Boomingham. She gave him a smile and returned to her seat next to him. She says quietly You have no need for people buy you things. What is it you really want? How does one become king, if your parents were not? Is it possible? By conquering. Either by sword, or more effectively, by words. If the people all proclaim you king, then you are. Perhaps we should proclaim you King of Eubric. You are certainly rich enough to bribe a fair amount of the population. Nerwen's smile indicates she w joking, but she can see from the faces of her companions they are considering the idea. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 You have no need for people buy you things. What is it you really want? Guts had no need for gifts, but he knew the question ran deeper than that. The raider sighed, and said: "Honestly, I am not sure myself." By conquering. Either by sword, or more effectively, by words. If the people all proclaim you king, then you are. Perhaps we should proclaim you King of Eubric. You are certainly rich enough to bribe a fair amount of the population. She was joking, but it made the Raider think. With a puzzled expression, the Raider answered: "I'd like to make Eubric a genuine better place. And while these jobs we are doing help, but it's not doing enough. The stalemate between the six houses makes sure nothing ever gets done. Perhaps a real leader is what Eubric needs..." Quote
Zepher Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 "Well, Nerwen has it right, though I think swords may be more effective than words when it comes to ruling in the beginning. Most Kings and Queens won't say it, but only reason they're in power is because at some point a long time ago, so long ago now that no one really remembers, they had more swords and more brawn and more brain than pretty much everyone else. If you want to be King of Eubric, however, you may have to cut through me first." Boomingham grins. "I'd like a second go. You know what they say, second times the charm." Quote
herrJJ Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) When Nessa turned back to the dwarf, she was gone. Rage started to rise inside her. 'You now certainly have to calm down. We have settled this a while ago, didn't we?' 'No, we didn't. That dwarf had stolen your property and it is your right, your duty to retrieve it back.' 'Oh you, will you stop this?' 'Why should I? Listen girl, let your rage flow. Let it overwhelm you! You will get great power from this. And with this power you are able to do everything. So go after that dwarf and hunt her down.' 'My darling, don't listen to this. Haven't I told you to be just and fair? Have you forgotten everything? What has happened to you? Stigveladi did not steal your gem. And it might be not as worthy as you think it to be.' 'HUNT HER DOWN!' 'Be calm, get a clear mind. Where would it lead you?' Nessa was close to loosing her mind. She pressed her hands against her ears and shouted through the entire hall: "STOP IT. GET OUT OF THERE! SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" OOC: Perhaps at least somebody could look? Brickington Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 "Not much, I bought myself some supplies at the market. My first quest should be today, so that's exiting." Sir Brickington notices the dagger and the pride Karie has in it, but doesn't mention anything about it. Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Jeaux heard one of the recently returned heroes cry out in what would best be described as agony. He glanced in her direction, but he could not see whom she was so angry with. From his vantage point it almost looked like she was yelling at herself. Perhaps there was more to the patrons of Heroica than the stories had let on? He walked over to the elf to see if she might need some help. "Is someone bothering you?" He asked, hoping the answer would be in the affirmative. As the alternative was a far more disturbing thought. Quote
herrJJ Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Nessa looked up in the face of the stranger talking to her. There were no eyes - at least they could not betray her. After a long pause and a welcome feeling of compassion towards her, she answered with tears in her eyes: "Thank you, but I am not sure. It sounds insane - perhaps it is." She started to whisper: "I hear voices inside of my head. And they don't stop talking..." With an upcoming feeling of madness she fell down on her knees, starting to weep bitterly cowering on the floor. "Please, help me!" Quote
joeshmoe554 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Jeaux wanted desperately to get away. He did not often get so involved in other people's lives and did not have even the slightest notion how to help this lady. She was clearly suffering from some sort of mental illness, but whether it was merely a reaction to some traumatic event or a product of dark magic was impossible to tell. As badly as he wanted to run, he did not. He could not help but feel sorry for her and wanted to help her if he could, the operative word being IF. "I don't know what I can do for you, I do not have any experience in these things. Perhaps if you talked about it with someone it may help?" Quote

Embarrassed by herself Nessa wiped away her tears, got up from the ground and looked at the unnamed stranger: "I guess you did enough. Thank you for your warmheartedness. I think..." She paused. Then Nessa remebered what Thalion once said: "I am afraid not master Alexander, no magic that I know of can help here. But you are right, those frequent faintings have to be remedied soon lest we all get in danger because of it happening in the middle of some battle. And for that, she has to visit a temple when we go back to the city." "Really, I appreciate your kindness but now I have to go. Perhaps the gods might help me. We might meet again..." By this words Nessa turned away and left the hall to visit some temples. Quote
The_Customizer Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Erdathcath enters the Hall right behind Sarge, and pauses to look at the Quest board. She stares closely at Quest 58, reaches over, and signs her name beneath the title. Erdathcath Madilinas, Quest #58. She is convinced she will be able to join this quest, after all, she was in the original group that rescued Mr. Bonaparte's twin brother, and knowing Reno so well, perhaps she would be able to find him again. Kintobor Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) "That's cool." Karie responds to Brickington. Suddenly an eruption explodes from inside the Hall. "STOP IT. GET OUT OF THERE! SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" The shriek is powerful for Karie to stop messing with her dagger and look in the direction the ruckus originated from. A Ranger quickly gets up and consoles the woman. After a few minutes she storms out of the hall, passing the duo who are lingering by the bar's entrance. "You know who she is, Brickington?" Karie asks. Edited February 6, 2013 by Kintobor Quote

If you wanna be possessed by demons, voices in your head and alter egos. You could at least step outside." "Do you really want to tell us how to really feel, Mr. Harkenshire?" With that he walked outside of the hall in search of this strange women, but she was no where to be found. Thus, he went back in the hall and went back to talking with Karie. "Are you excited about your next quest?" Quote
